This is one of the best lectures that I have heard. What I derived from this lecture was, stress is an indicator of internal attachment to the results, not of the external circumstances. If we can reduce or eliminate our expectations from the world and divert our attention to God, we would automatically become stress free.
Stress is explained so well! Physics definition of stress, then the deepest secret from Gita has been offered by Swamiji. To work , definitely not give up karma. Next work for sake of happiness of God, then prepare yourself for negative results yet be ready to not let Ego get in. Work hard and expect nothing from that activity. That brings freedom from all kinds of stress. So true, life is so short, our fame and defamation are so temporary we should focus on karma and we will be free!!

Changing our perspective can change everything, because God has given that freedom and capacity to us. When we learn to surrender all our thought, act and its result to the Supreme, we get free from all our stresses.

Nice lecture on stress management. Karm Yog is the solution for stress management. Body in the world and mind with God. Giving all efforts to the work and leaving results on to God without attachment to it.
Stress is like an 'executive disease' in the present times. Stress can be due to physical, social, or psychological conditions. When we perceive that we don't have the resources (physical, emotional, social, spiritual etc.) to handle the external situations we get stressed. Our reaction then is either to fight or flight the causes of stress. The real cause of stress is not the hard work but our attachment to the outcomes of our actions. When we are attached to the outcome our intellect is divided and does not perceive the situation as is without bias. The way to truely and completely eliminate stress is by focusing on the effort at hand not get attached to results as it is not in our hands anyway. When the mind becomes focused on the effort at hand we perform all our actions at our best potential without getting anxious and feeling stressed. A timely and enlightening video on stress management for the present times.
Swamiji says that how we manage stress is up to us. He describes the lesson from the Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna asks Arjun to not be attached to the outcomes of the war; to leave the outcome in His hands and just do his karma. He tells Arjun that if he stressed on the outcome of the war, then his concentration, will, and actions would be negatively affected.

The different techniques we employ to manage our stress do not address the root cause of stress. Swamiji explains beautifully the cause of our stress. If we are attached to the outcome we will be stressed. We must rather focus on the efforts and should detach ourselves from results. The results are not in our hands anyways.

I've been thinking about stress for a while and this put some things into words that I'd been feeling. Meditation and all is great but if you're just soothing a wound when it's for sure going to be torn open again the very next day, every day, what's the point? "Stress-management" strategies always seemed lacking, there's got to be a way to prevent stress to begin with -I thought. BUT stress-provoking situations are unavoidable so I was trying to mull over this problem. Keeping your mind detached and balanced instead of increasingly locked in and frantic, indeed I think it's key. Being able to slow down (which meditation and spiritual practice helps with) contributes to this calm of mind. I also think it's helpful to do things which disrupt your normal every day experience, like a holiday! Or a weeks camping trip can quickly get your mind into this state, and thus you know what you're trying to maintain when you return. Society is so busy-busy-busy-be-productive people forget or never know. I pray that I can master this stress prevention skill and maybe help others.
