Hi Marty, I really love your lessons, you explain really well, and that´s why I want to ask if you could do a lesson of Eric Clapton - I Shot The Sherif, (ruclips.net/video/APWhx97QvxE/видео.html) please Thankss
Everyone is talking about Travis Scott and Ariana Grande and Marty is over here just teaching us all how to melt faces with solos. Best lesson this month.
All I can say is wow and thank you. Seriously the best guitar lesson I’ve seen on RUclips. It allowed me to have so many breakthroughs connecting theory with my playing. I’ve probably went through this video over 5 times to get it all down. Such good stuff in here!
I think this is one of your best videos. Coping songs is great, but knowing a little theory goes beyond just learning a new song/lick. And when you apply the theory to a song like in this video, it really helps the theory sink in so that I(we) can use this new found insight to our playing. This example really ties it all together. A simple 5 4 1 progression and you show how we can play a mixolydian, a major and minor scale up and down the fret board. Now, "I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS". Thanks Marty!!
Great lesson thanks Marty. Hey jude was a song my music teacher brought out in high school, she tried to make us sing it but we hated it( old peoples music) and we refused to sing it. Now I see the beauty in all Beatles music as i learn Guitar. Thanks again.
I have been playing for over a year now and you have made my journey so amazing man I'm addicted and can't stop wanting to learn! thank you for all these free lessons! and to the people who dislike these videos grow up. I respect your grind and commitment Marty!
Iv'e just treated myself to a boss rc3 .Thanks for showing us what you do with your loop. It makes it much easier to basically rip you off. Thanks for what you do .
I made it to the end!!!! I haven't learned any mode shapes/patterns yet but this video is still a wonderful template on how to invent construct a solo from scratch-even for someone like me still stuck in pentatonic land. Thanks Marty!
Love the way you teach the theory in a practical way. After a 20 year hiatus I'm getting back into it and if I knew then what you're teaching now I may never have had a hiatus. Loving the content, keep it up Marty! 👍
One of the better lessons you’ve done. Love it when a familiar song is associated with its theory because we then get a chance to see how we can use it for ourselves cheers Marty
I did see it all wouldn’t skip a second of Marty…. Most excellent Maestro as always. It hit me around 12:00 how one could easily segue that solo work into “Sympathy For The Devil” and even cross it over into Allman Brothers territory. Shows how Classic and Universal not only that chord progression is but the riffing too.
awesome, love it,quick overview of the rhythm progression and then straight to lead theory and examples, keep 'em coming, this is why i have been watching for the last 4-5 yrs.
What a great lesson. Well done!!! I did watch the whole thing. Unlock the potential of mixing major and minor pentatonic scales and you are up a whole new level. I am still working on it, but I will definitely use this splendid lesson to practice over this chord progression, Many thanks for your time and your efforts.
Yes I did watch it all through and although it is a bit too advanced for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just think how wondrous music is and you of course for bringing it to a mere mortal!
Jessica made an appearance! Great lesson 👍👍learning to mix these different approaches makes for such a fun departure from what most of us hobbyists learn early on.. now time to practice.
Thanks Marty! Made it to the end. You've taught me so much and now I'm working my way through your Beatles lessons. A new song a week till quarantine 2020 ends!
Thanks! I'm learning this song two rewrite the lyrics to roast my friend Jeff (Hey, Jeff!) who is a Beatles fanatic and I wanted to do a simple solo that sounded like but wasn't straight up a rip off of the actual solo. This will help considerably. Love your channel.
This is the most useful guitar lesson video I’ve ever seen!! It changed my thinking about soloing. Thank you Marty and please do more this kind of theory lessons;)
Hi Marty, great lesson, just playing this in our covers band so you have given me some great ideas, thanks for all your lessons over the years, thanks, John b. Watching from England
Very cool lesson Marty. I like when you explain theory behind and what alternatives the progression gives. Hope to see more like this one. Best regards and a very merry xmas Marty!
made it to the very end like in every one of your vids Marty...you absolutely rock dude. Fast moving culture!!! so true...kids these days...keep up the great work man, thank you so much
kookoo cunning if you are open to suggestion, the epiphone dot is an amazing guitar, it’s a lot like the one he’s playing in the video, and they are around 300. Just some friendly advice. Mine plays like a dream and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good affordable semi-hollow
Let’s see about that shout-out at the end ;) stayed till the end like a trooper 👍 love your videos by the ways , you were always a huge inspiration in my guitar journey, and still is today!!
This really helped me out a lot Marty been playing this all day and it’s like it opened a new door into my theory knowledge. Thanks Marty happy holidays

Hi Marty! Thank you for teaching us all the good songs. When I started playing in the late 70's, there was no Internet and no tabs. We had to buy expensive sheet music books, or listen to records over and over again to learn the riffs. It's a fantastic world now for us guitarists and you are making it better! A song I never managed to nail is Rory Gallaghers version of In the Western Plains. Could you do that one please?
Got to the very end Marty. These type of lessons are your best. Please do one on the playing of Duane & Dickey, I am amazed at what these guys knew about guitar playing. So much to learn from them. Thanks! :)
Thanks for supporting "MartyMusic" everybody! I also have Free and Helpful Guitar Lesson Courses at My Site www.MartyMusic.com

Your channel is one of the best channels ever.
I still remember your full guitar cover of this song! That was a great cover!
That was a clean solo man....so good. I love a good, honest to music, linear, non flashy solo. Solos are not greater than the song. Support the song.
All I can say is wow and thank you. Seriously the best guitar lesson I’ve seen on RUclips. It allowed me to have so many breakthroughs connecting theory with my playing. I’ve probably went through this video over 5 times to get it all down. Such good stuff in here!
The way he breaks down theory is unlike any other guitar tutor. He’s really helped me with modes and moving the major scale around

Watched your cover of this 9-10 years ago and this video is so nostalgic. One of the first jam tracks i practiced to.
One of the better lessons you’ve done. Love it when a familiar song is associated with its theory because we then get a chance to see how we can use it for ourselves cheers Marty
