Great video. I love the new E63 and especially the S. I would get one, but I am a bit gun shy of rolling automotive complication. Here is my reasoning. I had a 2005 E55 that I special ordered. I owned it for almost 12 years. It was an absolutely fabulous car and a rocket ship on wheels. The first seven years the car was under warranty. When I took it to the dealership for the first service after the expiration, they found $6K of items that needed repair. I wondered why they all of a sudden showed up. The service advisor told me that MB will not permit the dealership to identify maintenance issues under warranty that the owner had not mentioned unless they are safety items. After that visit there were numerous other issues, costing so much that I did not want to keep track of them. The weak point was the air suspension. The rear air bags and front struts were replaced three or four times because they leaked. When the next leak started, I decided to cut my losses and got rid of it. Maybe the long term dependability of AMG, or Mercedes in general, has improved over the years, but I think the complex electronics and sophisticated mechanicals in most new AMGs have turned them into bank account ticking time bombs. Just wondering if anyone has experience with newer AMG products and how they have lasted over the years.
@@MilesPerHr Well, it's something to think about. There were two items that were impossible for me to detect, but they were apparent to the tech when the car was serviced. One was an engine oil leak in the rear main seal. The repair required removal of the transmission. Not cheap. The leak was not enough to be detected from underneath. The plastic cover under the engine held it in place. I am quite sure the tech saw it many times as he removed the cover to change the oil. The other item was the damper in the driveshaft. It did not produce detectable signs. There were cracks that were visible when viewed up close, as when the tech changed differential fluid. I could go on about the issues, but my keyboard does not have an unlimited life expectancy. I think you get the idea.
@@raheemmohammed4777 I really didn't have to go through a whole lot, except for when the fuel pump failed and the car had to be flat bedded to the dealership and the several times I had to drive very slowly because the suspension lost pressure and the car dropped to the ground on one corner. The money thing, well, that was different.
Hi, I just started watching your channel and I really like your day and night drive ASMR videos. I was wondering if you would ever consider doing this with older cars? More specificity late 90s and early 2000s cars. For example maybe a third generation Chrysler Sebring. It’s just a suggestion I just thought you might find it interesting.
Thank you for watching these videos and for your suggestion! Right now I am only doing new cars, but I would love to feature used cars at some point in the future 👍
I think the flashing speed limit indicator would be distracting. I would prefer it to change colors when exceeding the limit as in the Waze app. Is it possible to defeat the flashing in the settings. Thanks.
The front of the old one with the rear of the new one and the new interior- would be killer , the new front looks like a catfish much less like an angry but sophisticated hooligan
Is it maybe assembled without the particulate filters for us in North America? Possibly a bit louder than the muted European versions we've seen videos on? The sound is going to be a big decider on whether or not I order one and sell my shouty V8 Jag.
@@MilesPerHr Cool! I actually watched your pre-facelift E63 video back to back, and it does sound quite a bit louder and more aggressive than the newest one. I know it definitely won’t sound like my Jag 5.0 but I’m itching for something even quicker than a 12.0 1/4 mile...so maybe time to come back to the AMG fam again
I was curious if you noticed any difference between the shifting speed in the 2021 face lift vs the pre-face lift. It seems there's a delay when the car shifts. Not sure if its because the car is new but the pre-face lift never had that. Thanks!
that is honestly the best looking steering wheel i've ever seen it looks like a spaceship

I'm sorry you have to go through all that with your former car

The AMGs has turned them in to bank account 🤔
Yikes! I had no idea about the holding pattern they’ll initiate at dealers.

Do you find that upon acceleration that the upshift from 2nd gear to third gear can be jerky
1st to 2nd can be a little abrupt, but 2nd to 3rd felt smoother to me. Even torque-converter automatics shift aggressively when used in launch mode
This’s definitely shot in Costa Mesa 😂
Yessir!
Thought you were going to Fletchers Jones to return it, because you didn’t like it.
I like everything about this car except the gear lever.
Why is the front camera not centered 😬
That makes me nuts too!
Ngl Mercedes should have stuck with the last gen tail lights instead of redesigning the one before the last one.
