So sorry to hear what's happened. Hope you'll have it back on the road soon. We've just come back from Yamba and Evan's Head. When leaving Evan's Head we discovered a flat battery and had to wait for the NRMA to sort it out.
Hi guys, it's disappointing but it is what it is! Just waiting on parts. She is booked to go back to Jayco Newcastle late February and hopefully all fixed by early-March. We loved Yamba but haven't been to Evans Head. It's on our bucket list now 😅. Not good about the battery. Thank goodness for roadside assistance.
Oh no, thats so terrible guys. So sorry to hear that has happened. Our motorhome is currently in hospital as well. So that Lippert problem ended up being something deeper and Jayco now have ordered some parts from projector, not really sure what as they say they are still problem solving. This is just happening too often to new motorhomes. We have also had to cancel some travel plans. Hope you get her fixed soon. Kerry and Brian.
So sorry to hear about your issues. It definitively has been a rollercoaster ride for you both! Maude's at Jayco now to be repaired. It'll be a waiting game now for the parts especially this time of the year.
Hi guys. Waiting for your next video, when will it be released? In the interim, can I ask a couple of questions? 1. Do you get much road dirt/dust in your motorhome? 2. Would you recommend your model Jayco? We particularly like the layout. 3. In your opinion would it be better and less costly to have a tow vehicle and caravan than a motorhome? Thanks Greg
Hi Greg, The next video will be up hopefully within the next 2-3 weeks. We have not done much activity due to Maude being out of action. She is booked in this upcoming Friday for her operation, so hopefully we will be back on the road soonish. We have planned to do a short video of the Port Stephens area while we wait for Maude to recover, so that should be the next vid off the rank. As to your questions. 1. Road Dust....no we have not had much trouble with dust entering the vehicle. Even when we undertook our Bid Red Bash trip (Birdsville) we had minimal issue. The caveat is though that we did cover all vents and possible access areas with tape and paper. The vent within the entry stairs had a foam sheet inserted. The only time we took the covers off was at the bash and even then we had minimal issues. For reference I would suggest that by covering these access points when in dusty conditions, saves a lot of cleaning later on. 2. As to Caravan v Motor home. The oft asked question around the traps. Our only advice would be that it comes down to personnel preference. For us, we prefer the ease of setup and pack down. When we initially were deciding we both said that we did not want to tow a vehicle. The next question often asked is, How do you get around when camped in an area....well we we each have two legs, so they will get used :) We figure that if a spot we wish to visit is a bit further than say 5klm, we will simply pack up and drive there for our next stop point on our trip....we have no time restrictions so it is a no-brainer for us. I will say though that we are thinking of getting a couple of E-Bikes, still weighing the pros and cons of that currently. At the end of the day I reiterate that it comes down to personal preference. I would suggest to ask some caravan people why they chose the RV that they did. I have spoken to other people who started off with a caravan and now have a motorhome. Both vehicles suited their needs at particular time of their life. Regards cost, well logic says that if you are going to whack a 1 to 2 tonne vehicle at the back of your motorhome, then yes you will go through more fuel so increased cost. I imagine it is the same with caravans, although extra cost would be need to be considered when you realise that you maybe driving your vehicle around the area once you have set your caravan up. 3. As to the Jayco model....it suits our needs perfectly, we are empty nesters so we have more room with this model for the dining area etc. We also have an Annex for those longer stays that gives us an enclosed room outside the motorhome. Just a little bit of comfort that goes a long way to making the trip enjoyable. Would we recommend it? Definitely if you are a single person or a couple with no kids...YES. That being said, if we come into a bit of a financial windfall....well a Sunliner Monte Carlo or Frontier Delaware is not out of the question :):P FOr now though yes we definitely recommend this model for the single person or couple. Hope we have answered your question sufficiently, and we promise that another video is in the works. Cheerio M & P & P
Thanks guys. Maude looks to be big enough for my wife and I. You have inspired us to get cracking and take the leap. We are also empty nesters and looking forward to new life, after bringing up 4 boys who are now married with their own children. Greg
I’m close to buying the same model as yours. How did the repairs go? Is this a common problem? It would be a concern if it was stuck partly closed out the back of beyond. Thanks.
You will love the Conquest 25-3. Once all the parts were received, Jayco Newcastle were on top of it in no time. I'm not sure if it is a common problem but shite happens and you just have to go with the flow. We are very happy with our motorhome 😀
Hi. Do you need to park on a very level ground to enable functional use of slide out? How good is the 9 speed Auto transmission? What is GVM? Do you do much off grid camping? Cameron
Hi Camh, Slight slopes are ok however we try and park on ground that is level....you want to be comfortable walking around inside. It is recommended that you use the slideout on as close to level as possible otherwise you may run the risk of the slideout going out of square. 9speed auto is great and is a very smooth rise. GVM = Gross Vehicle Mass which is the maximum weight the vehicle can be at any one time. We try and do as much off grid as we can. We are totally self sufficient so we try and make use of it as much as we can. Thanks for the interest. Cheers
No. It was making a clunking noise every now and then. And then the last time we tried to bring it in, the left side came in slower than the right. And just got stuck.
Love you guys😂😂

Same on 25-1 . I now lift bed up before sliding in and out 😂
Hope your issue wasn't too bad. Good idea re lifting up the bed. Thank you. Safe travels :)
Oh my. That is a difficult situation. Hang in there. Thanks for sharing.
It sure is but she's getting looked after.
Good to hear.

Oh no. That’s terrible , do they have a lot of issues. The conquests?
I'm not sure if there are a lot of issues with the slide out or the Conquests in general. It didn't deter us from buying it 😅

@@passynby hi there. Many thanks for the reply. Can you please confirm the GVM in kg of your MH?
@@Camh1968 Ours is 4495 kgs 😀
@@passynby thank you.
wow, that is unfortunate..... did you close slide with something to high under bed, and it pushed it?

As i dont find the first part of video funny
Thanks for feedback. We like it! Oh and we don't have a job - we're retired!! :)
