- For some, the Tachi is too long; for others, it's not durable enough. Introducing the Koda Mag: A 23-round, 33% glass-fiber nylon, unibody short dart magazine. Eli designed these to be the most durable, competition-grade option out there and still be able to keep up with the full rate of fire of Momentum.
Short for Kodachi (literally "short tachi"), the Koda is the next iteration of our injection-molded magazine offerings. Let me tell you all about them!

John Philip Souza wrote some great Kodas, although John Williams wrote some of the most memorable Kodas of modern times. The Koda was first popularized by Beethoven during the European Classical era in the 1700s. Kodas are most commonly used in sonata form as the recapitulation at the end of the movement.
Oh I get it!
Wait no I still don't get it...
The damaged coda.
Ooo I love how those look when dyed red. I know, no bias.
Would love to see a dye guide! Love the Tachi and hope to see iterations off the curved mag design in future once your mold costs are amortized, but these were definitely the next step to take for a carrier-friendly loadout mag, and must have saved a ton of headaches in assembly while also being so tough!
Seconding the request for the dye guide
I also want this Tutorial
Me2
I'd love to see the dyeing process for these mags
Koda = Coda like a special ending in music.
Very much interested in the tutorial on dying the mags!
These Koda magazines are great! Excited that we have them in the shop for the European market too!
Kodachi is just "small tachi"
Kotō era is basically the time in Japan from the 8th century ish to the 16th when the cool kids all carried swords. Koto is also an instrument... A floor harp guitar, sort of.
Been looking at these. Knowing the dye process is fairly simple makes me want several so I can color match my load out. Love the content and the shop!
Odd...my mind went straight to ''Kodak'' when I first saw the name...I think a dyeing video would be fun👍👍
I already know how to dye plastic from doing custom 10 round Talon mags to match my blue talons, but I'm excited to see more people learn how to do it!
As an owner of 7 of these for basically most of my loadouts now. these are the best mags in our hobby space. throw out your old talons and make way for the new king of mags.
What about Tachis? Eli Wu and Luke used to love Tachis, they were the main mags they used. They are higher capacity. Why are Kodas better?
This is next-level. I’ve seen you with these at the Borst games and I look forward to getting some in the future. Thanks!
This is an exciting developments for the hobby, great job on the design.
dye guide would be cool. either carrying or having a suggested brand of dye would also be helpful if you never go to full production on in house colors. just got my koda in about a week ago and initial impressions are fantastic. might be my go to when a talon doesn't suit. would be neat to have a specific 'dictator' adapter that allows for something like 35 rounds in the dictator without having to flip to reload, and fills the space better. also would be cool to have some sort of stock adapter for the conquest pro that fits over the koda some way. ideas ideas ideas :)
The +5 Mag extender for the Tachi also fits on the Koda, making the capacity 28 rounds. I believe a Koda with an extender installed also fits in the Dart Zone Dictator!
As for the Stock options, hmmm. I can't say that we'll get to it soon, but it certainly sounds like a neat idea!
YES! I would love a video on how to dye the mags.
Amazing magazine. I ordered 2 of the raw colored ones, interested to see a video on how to dye the magazine. My white Worker Seagul just came in so need to dye the magazines black. Thanks
A dyeing tutorial would be awesome!
I would love to buy a Koda that’s already dyed!
You should include on the dyeing tutorial video on dying it one color, putting squiggles of hot glue on the mags, then dipping them in another color, that way when you take off the glue, you have a really cool dual color design. I play lacrosse and I’ve done this with my lacrosse stick heads, and it’s really cool in my opinion
Coda is a musical term!
Is the other Koda meaning COTA from Nascar?
Cool mag, I'll have to pick up a few for testing in my designs :)
Definitely would like to see a video on color dying!
Love it. Shared right to 0BS
Great design! The dyes look amazing also.
Luke, we would love to fly you over to Traverse City, MI to play in our arena!
It’s a dedicated Rival/Half Dart indoor arena with electronic based game modes!
Lots of fun, thank you for all the great content.
Hold up... There's neon green/yellow tachis? I wonder how I missed that. Big need for an upcoming project.
Haven't these been on sale for a while now?
Edit: 8:18 He's got at least one more dart in the magazine, he's not Out!
Yes they have! We've been crazy busy, and haven't been able to publish videos as regularly. Better late the never, though!
Those it work on the x shot long shot?
A video on dying would be great! Looking forward to it int he future!
I think the koda mag might also be referring to a coda in music. A coda is the section that brings the music piece to an end.
Side note: will there ever be a clear variant?
Gotta paint it clear
Oh man thats such a great connection not gonna lie- As a music student why didnt i think of that!
I was thinking this except the composer for part of jjba ost
I'm not sure how feasible a clear injection molding of glass reinforced polymer could be, but witnese holes on the side or back of the mags would be cool.
WE WANT DYE, WE WANT DYE
Just picked up a dictator for 15$ and i was looking for more mags. Im you brought it up!
Oh hey, kodachi mags... totally haven't bought 80 of these
Could you make a double punch mod guide? It would be amazing!
Kodachi just means a small tachi no? Does that mean you’re doing certain sword arts??
off topic- will there ever be a proton pack video
Purple!!!!
Would absolutely enjoy a tutorial video on how to do the mag color dying. Also what purple dye is that that you used?
Nice profile pic!
I said to myself these look perfect for the Dictator. Even more w. that mag extender
“Coda”, as in the musical term?
I would love to see a video on your dying process.
Dye tutorial!
It must be a reference to pitbulls masterpiece "give me everything"
"Picture that with a Kodak
Or, better yet, go to Times Square
Take a picture of me with a Kodak"
those lyrics what could they mean
Do these work well with the stock DZP MK3 with or without the Talon fix?
Like the Tachis before them, the Kodas should work well without modifying the DZP Mk-3's pusher.
thumbnail got me looking twice 💀
It may have not broken a 1.2 on its own, but it sure as hell still works even after having done that and running it over. I need more
When is Momentum coming again?!
Magazine looks awesome. 23 round capacity is great. This might be a good option for the Dictator. It’s just hard for me to buy a $20 magazine for a blaster going for less than $15 at Target right now. Hope you offer dyed magazines in the future.
I'm not understanding. A blaster going for a very accessible price is... problematic?
@@TheYoshi115 No, the Dictator going for $15 is awesome. Even though I already owned one I bought 6 more at that price and already gave away 4 of them. My mental hurdle is buying additional magazines at $20 for a blaster that is $15. It would be cheaper to buy more blasters, keep the magazines and ditch the blaster. Hope that explanation made more sense.
@@Andygriff1975 neat 👍 yeah, mags in general have always been overpriced. Not a fan of it, either
Would you guys offer a regular 3d print i am partial to the translucent green
very high capacity big straight talon
Can you make a bigger 18 round talon mag?
I really like these, but it's a bummer they're so expensive. It makes sense for them to cost as much as they do, but I can't justify getting a bunch to replace my normal talons.
I'm going to replace my talons over time, right now I have one. In a month or so, I'll get two more.
Do the Tachi mags work with the adapter to non-short dart blasters?
Yes! The Tachis and Kodas both work with most magwell adapters. The only ones we don't recommend for Tachis are the ones without a mag release because the mag can be too heavy to be retained.
@@outofdarts ok, thanks for the reply!! :D
Don't suppose you do something similar for the Dart Zone Dictator? I always thought the dual mag set up was a bit of a let down honestly compared to standard 24 rounder.
Is it coda? The end of a song?
I want a lighter color material so I can get a super bright orange (classic nerf orange or brighter). I’d also love to see a dying video.
Hey your failed Hera mod could I buy it from you
Many Native American languages have the word "Koda" meaning "Friend".
it would be way cooler if yall got into airsoft and helped make that a bigger sport
same concepts
Musical Codas?
Why is this better than a katana?
After experience with both short dart mag geometries on the market, Katana mags are less compatible and less durable than most mags with a standard talon profile. With the pervasiveness of talon mags and compatible offerings in the last few years, it was an easy choice to make when Eli and Luke came to market with the Tachi. The Koda fits somewhere in between the Tachi and a standard straight 15-dart talon in capacity, is easier to holster than curved mags, and it's more durable with it's unibody glass-fiber nylon construction.
Would that be CoPA? As in Co-polymer Nylon?
(Also, the video is unlisted despite being linked in your Maryland Mayhem video)
I actually don't know that. I'd have to ask Luke. - Perry
(A bit of an Easter Egg, if you will. I'll be publishing it early next week.
Koda=Coda
Koda means friend in Native American
*coda
Wait luke, are you a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA)?
Koda means coding in Swedish.
CODA Child Of Deaf Adults? lol I'm one but its probably not that.
