The saying is the mountain will be there tomorrow, you don't have to make it on the first attempt. It's amazing how fast the weather can change at the higher elevation and when the mountain decides to make its own weather. You will make it next time and get a view we all can enjoy.

hi Angela. If you are interested, there are a couple good books about flora and fauna of the Canadian Rockies. I use Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Rockies, and, Ben Gadd's Guide to the Rockies. Lots and lots of plants and critters 🙂 I hope you find these helpful.

Yes, dogs are amazing. Some humans could learn a lot from them. My guy is a 16-pounds floof. We don't do hikes anything like FF but he's always right out in front excited to see what's over the next hill.

Love the ability to see routes and the incredible vistas, but totally hate it when they are near me when I am in the outdoors. I also appreciate your comments on being careful not to bother the folks camping nearby with your drone. Fixing up forest trails, packing out your trash, and being thoughtful about the use of your drone all show what a decent guy you are. ❤️

I found myself holding my breath on the snow & ice climb, wise decision to quit when safety was a concern. Very enjoyable video, great footage of the terrain... so awesome! Love to see Rocco keeping up, great lil buddy.

I went to Tanjung Puting National Park in Kalimantan a few years ago on an Earthwatch expedition with Canadian primatologist Dr. Birute Galdikas to help for two weeks with her research on orangutans. It was a wonderful experience, and I have had a great interest in your country since that visit. I really want to come to Indonesia again someday to visit Udjung Kulon National Park, in order to maybe catch a glimpse of a Javan rhinoceros. I realize that this might never happen since they are so elusive, but to even see a foot print or see where they had wallowed in the mud would be extremely exciting! (I have a great interest in both orangutans and rhinos because I worked as a zookeeper for ten years at the Los Angeles Zoo and orangutans and greater one-horned rhinos or Indian rhinos, were two species that I cared for.) You live in a fascinating country! Have a great day!!!

The click of the traffic at the beginning is a massive contrast compared to your normal and it is good to see as it demonstrates the contrast between your camp and hiking locations. There were big traffic back-ups due to the highway being closed due to serious accidents, it was in the regional news. Highway 1 is the south-central route across Canada's Rockies, Hwy 16 is the north-central route, a lesser used secondary route near Hwy 1 goes goes part-way across called the Windermere Highway. Highway 3 is close to the Canadian-American border and crosses several high passes, Highway 97 crosses the far northern Rockies at the low Pine Pass near Mile Zero of the Alaska Highway in north-east British Columbia, which also crosses them as it heads further north. These Canadian highways all converge east of Vancouver and there is very good scenery from them in that district too.

Good call. As Royal Robbins once said “ never be afraid to back off a climb, the mountains will alway be there” great advice that I have used more than a few times. As I watch this I am packing for my 100 mile hike in Vermont with my best friend Maggie. She also seems to glide over the rocks and so far she has had no issues with her paws 🐾. Take care
It's good to let female dogs go through puberty, though! You don't want to fix them too early, they need those hormones for complete proper bone growth. On the flip side, you don't want to let them go into heat too many times, either, they can get Pyometra. I really think puppies is the least of his worries haha where would she get pregnant? A wolf in the bush? Those would be interesting looking pups!
@Joanne Finkelberg , considering the numbers of cats and dogs that are euthanized every year, through no fault of their own, there's no reason to let her breed. There's no doubt the puppies would be cute, but if 5 unwanted animals are killed because people adopt her puppies instead, do those euthanized dogs deserve to live less? I've volunteered in animal rescue for a while. The shelters are waaay past capacity. It's heartbreaking.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and especially those in the Purcells. We took a family hike to Gorman Lake, earlier in August. We circled the lake & took an icy dip too! It's great to see you and Rocko enjoy this area and show us all, what is above and beyond 😊

I looked up a photo of Mount Bryce on the internet. It looks like a spectacular mountain. Too bad about the weather not cooperating so that you could get some good drone footage from the summit. Good call to call off the climb the mountain isn't going anywhere looked scary with the deep crevasse's and rain, Nice the Rocco and you were able to get a good hike in regardless and safer at that , Rocco is such a trouper on your climbs god love her . I looked up a photo of Mount Bryce on the internet. It looks like a spectacular mountain. Too bad about the weather not cooperating so that you could get some good drone footage from the summit. It will be there, waiting for your return.

Good call to call off the climb the mountain isn't going anywhere looked scary with the deep crevasse's and rain, Nice the Rocco and you were able to get a good hike in regardless and safer at that , Rocco is such a trouper on your climbs god love her . Sucks when their in heat . enjoyed the drone footage views so spectacular very pretty.Thanks again for another enjoyable video .

What up Forrest. I really enjoy the adventures you take us on but I must admit, I miss the van build. When you was building your van out, that was the best for me.
