  • Hey guys, this is a really cool website that tracks flights bases on the AE projection map. Check it out!

I believe the site owners have the website on pause until they partner with some investors.

    Bang on presentation 👍🏾☯️👍🏾
After over 32years of commercial flying, I’ve yet to flight plan extra fuel for the extra distance due to a globes added radius at altitude, nor flown lines on a ball map, only a flat Earth map (a.k.a. UN logo) never adjusted for Coriolis, nor adjusted attitude for the dipping horizon following the imaginary curve. It’s flat & motionless Folks! From the Pilot’s basic study guide; please read 1.1.2 & let that sink in! Every Pilot was taught this, but some still don’t get it, (I didn’t at first) & some just stay asleep & yes it does say ‘assumed’ but when does the theory become a spinning reality? Where is the next part B manual to apply Coriolis & curvature nonsense to any flight? Never...because it is a flat & stationary Earth we live & fly on. All flight planning & aerial navigation is based always on a flat motionless plane! Curvature or spin is never accounted for EVER 😱😴

@@hashmaldawn3878 When you say we call it "the" flat earth map, that's a strawman argument. We never said it's perfect or 100% accurate. In fact, an absolutely perfect map is impossible to produce so long as we are all legally forbidden from freely & fully exploring and cartographicizing the Antarctica region and/or whatever may be beyond it, before the Firmament (which definitely is the ultimate boundary of the earth).
Rather, our claim is that the AE map is the *best one currently available* to us.
And it's hilarious hearing you bring up Australia. *You* and everyone on your side are the ones who harbor the ludicrous & asinine belief that everyone who lives there is currently standing upside down on the bottom of a sun-chasing cartoon ball planet that they, and everything else, magically sticks to as it hurtles through space at thousands of miles per hour. Your globe fairytale is so zany and silly that a Saturday morning children's cartoon is much more realistic.

Equidistant maps are awesome. It really clarified my plane route from NYC to the Philippines which on a globe should have flown across the USA from east to west then across the Pacific ocean stopping in Hawaii for refueling then into the southern hemisphere on to Japan for a brief connection flight to the Philippines. On a equidistant map, and my actual route, the plane went up to Canada then further up to Alaska then straight on to Japan before proceeding on to the Philippines. The funny thing about this was that this whole route was a perfectly straight line from NYC to the Philippines.

    Hello!
I have a question about the fact
Of the plane from Taiwan to LA making a emergency landing in Alaska.
I debated with some sphere supporters about that,
And they send me a link to an app where it shows apparently that
The route is closer to Alaska or they gave me a link to Google earth,
When I told them that the closest path is when you follow the parallel. because they are almost very close,
And Alaska is far to up in parallel degrees they told me that this is
Not true talking about the great circle, but in fact there is I told them they should talk about the closest arc which should be the closest path in a sphere,.
They introduced a pilot who said that if point A and B are in same parallel you should follow the greatest circle, but when I said that parallel is the shortest line between those two. He said. No you have to follow the greatest circle.
And after that one them said I don't understand "geodesic".
Can you help me give them a good
    answer in this matter,.

      Thank you.
I understand your point. You are right.
But my idea was to assume that what they say is " correct"
Being able to discredit their claim by the geometry of the sphere theory itself.
I was good at geometry when I was young, (English not my first language) my idea was that if two points are in same parallel the arc connecting them wich followed the greater circle should be the same parallel,. But following the line of Google app, it means they are waisting time following a longer route, that was my point.
Because what they are mixing up is the change in geodesic angle from
a point of a sphere theory.
If you have more knowledge let me know,
I am sure about my thoughts, that even applying the route to sphere does not work.
If no I have to go buy a book of geometry.
I am sure their claim doesn't stand up even in their sphere.

    • @altin3408
      @altin3408 4 года назад

      @@hashmaldawn3878
The problem with that is that it's not the shortest line, according to geometry, but the parallel it self.
I understand some geometry, and we all went to school I guess.
I understand what is a great circle, but my point it was when you go from west to east, having two points
Like Taipei and LA in same parallel almost, even LA being a little more
higher the arc connecting them its part of that parallel,.
So in this case there is no need to apply the great circle because the roue it self does not follow the great circle. But the arc in this case is part of the parallel.
But going all way up does not make sense,.
It makes sense in a flat earth map.
I think all this complicated stuff is made to cover up the anomalies of the sphere model.

      Thank you for your time.
In my point of view (theoretically speaking) should not use
      that haversine formula because
According to geometry the route should not follow the great circle but a smaller one wich is the parallel. And it has a smaller circumference and choosing an arc,
a geodesic with a different angle should give a longer route, and going much up in degrees like the case of Alaska it's a much longer not needed route. Only if Alaska is in the way of planes coming from Taiwan to LA that makes sense, theoretically the Hawaii Island it's in his way much closer.
But in reality it's not because the reality it is different.
