    Hi, greetings from Liverpool UK, hope you're well, great video!!
    At the moment in my keyboard rig I'm using a Roland Jupiter 80, Sequential Prophet X, Hammond SKX Pro, Yamaha Genos, Kawai MP11 piano and 2 Korg MS2000 synths!!
    I play a lot of Genesis type prog rock and I'm interested in buying a Moog Muse to have as my main leadline/soloing synth!!
    My question is: what is the keyboard action on the Muse like?? Is the action any good for playing really intricate, fast moving 1970's type Tony Banks solos??
    My Jupiter 80 has a beautiful action, as does my Genos, the two Korg MS2000 synths have a decent action too!!
    However, as much as I love my Prophet X and it has a lovely sampled sound engine, the actual keyboard action is horrible,
    making super fast soloing on it quite difficult, so I'm hoping the keyboard action on the Muse is perfect for soloing!!
    If you could let me know that would be great as there are no Moog Muse synths available to buy in the UK until late October!!
    Many thanks!!

      Hi there! Sounds like you've got a nice collection going! I haven't played the Prophet X but my Trigon and Prophet 10 have keys that basically feel the same so I would bet the Prophet X is also similar. So going by that I would say the Muse keys feel close to those of the Trigon with the action feeling slightly lighter. The Trigon keys are smoother than those of the Muse by a hair and with a bit more pressure to them but not much. I haven't noticed any issue with playing leads on it. If it's one of your main concerns finding one to test is the safest bet. Thanks for watching!

    How close can you get to great snappy Bass sounds in the vain of the MiniMoog? Are you happy with the Bass capabilities? Cheers.

    • @deepsynths
      @deepsynths  Месяц назад

      It can't beat a MinMoog in the snappy bass department. I'm happy with the bass. It can get low and solid with useable type bass sounds that I think will work well for me in productions. You can get it in that snappy bass territory but it's like the Muse version of it. Plus it's not as fast getting there as my Voyager. The Muse wants to naturally lean towards a wet growly bass, gritty and rich. Hitting the mono button doesn't turn it into a Minimoog. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks very much! I agree that factory patches are often inconsistent. I think they did an above average job on these compared to some synths I've had. I can put the details of that Muse lead under the community tab of my page. Keep an eye out for it there. Thanks for watching!

    In your opinion, does the Sequential OB-6 sounds better than the Moog MUSE? If you had a budget of 3,500 which one would you choose and why?

    • @danthreepwood2760
      @danthreepwood2760 2 месяца назад

      To make things even more difficult: how about a used OBX8 for around $3500,- 😉.

    • @deepsynths
      @deepsynths  2 месяца назад +3

      For myself I would have to go with the Muse because it feels like the kind of synth you could do a whole track with and not feel like you had used only one synth when the project was done and you're listening to it. The OB-6 has the great personality to it's sound that jumps right out immediately, so it's great. However the Muse sounds sweet and rich while not being painted into a sonic corner. Thanks for watching!

      @deepsynths  2 месяца назад +2

      @@danthreepwood2760 That's a harder call. I think that comes down to which way you lean in terms of the brands and their signature sounds. I thought this synth would be priced at the OBx8 price point new but it's not, it seems like a really good deal to me.

    @boomtherehewas 2 месяца назад +2

    do you get any trigon 6 comparison/sounds vibe?

    • @deepsynths
      @deepsynths  2 месяца назад +1

      My first impression was that their core sound is representative of each of their brands. The muse has a moog character (it reminds me of the voyager filter at times) and the Trigon in comparison has a Sequential sound with a moog style filter on it. You can match some patches if you wanted but the base character of their sound is defined by their points of origin, Moog vs Sequential. Thanks for watching!

    Great job programming. Do you have to hit the Tune button often? I do on mine. Love the Save a PRAYER and the rezo patches. I finally created an excellent "Jump" patch. It took me a couple of hours to dial it in. Usually I can create that sound within 5 minutes on other synths. Former OBXa and OB8 owner. Now an OBX8 and Muse owner.

      @synthartist69 2 месяца назад +1

      @@deepsynths Well, you are in the neighborhood on Jump. It's a patch I use for a lot of 80's songs. Just a quick tip, turn your release all the way down and use a quick slap back delay since there is no onboard reverb. It will give it the bite it needs. :)

      It feels right to me. It takes a little pressure but it doesn't feel uncomfortable or strained. If the modulation amount is set to 100% it comes in pretty easily. I've played keyboards that require a lot of push, it's not one of those. Thanks for watching!

    I like your patches but somehow they all kinda sound the same. Even that "Jump" patch has a sonic resemblance to the other patches you presented. It's hard to describe, but it's kind of a sweet "flutey" sound to it. It's not a bad sounding character, but it does seem to be there in all your patches. And in other patches I've heard from the Muse.

      Synths do have a foundational character to their sound often. Like you can usually tell a Juno when you hear it (especially with the chorus on). I'll see if I notice that when making the next video so there's a good variety of examples. I do think it has a smooth and sweet side to it that's easy to bring forth, you don't have to fight to get there. Thanks for watching!
