Use Mantis vs. Turkeys. Mantis with swords dont get any damage reduction vs the turkeys and you can easily do 1-1.5k damage with a decent mantis and decent sword.

I love these guys even after the series of nerfs they got, they're so absurdly fast. I remember taking it for a joyride after I tamed it and thinking I was screwed because I ran out of stamina in front of a bunch of dirwewolves, only to realize I was walking faster than they could sprint

Leaving a tip for others: I always use a drake to tame Manas. Clear anything out it's aggroed on when it jumps. Jump off drake to draw aggro. It'll get stuck on the head of the drake eventually (it will take a bit) and you can knock it out from your drake.
Also the nerf on Manas was awful for PvE but I still make the argument they're worth using. Only a maewing compares with traversal speed. Imo I think moving around on them is more fun than a maewing
I personally use the domination rex, the same as the one from last season but that’s my single player world and only after using a giga and trying different methods including a decent assault rifle and an army of useless rexs.
Just let him hit you for a sec, place the gates on top of it while it hits you, they don't do enough damage for it to matter much. They jump around too much to try and place a gate and a bear trap and get it to run into it. Personally I use 3 gates (I've done this one official and dedicated servers) and he's trapped and out in moments. If you quickly get the first gate right around his front shoulders and the second just in front of his back legs, then hop off your dino and place the 3rd quickly it works very nicely. Good show, keep up the good work!
I went turkey hunting yesterday with my wyvern thinking that I can take that turkey out but the turkey almost killed my wyvern, I have learned my lesson. To always use a giga, love your videos syn.
Things with bleed kinda also work, if I'm around on my thyla I also won't skip turkeys (takes way longer tho..)

Managarmr are so very squirrely! I was having a laugh but also a cry because the owl died.
I've just been using my carno with the new bleed and the old knockback, making it easy not to get hit by those turkeys. Highly recommend, as long as your carno has melee pumped.

I just let the mana attack my wyvern with 10k health, while I was standing on its back and shooting the mana with darts... It worked great

Obviously these days there are the net guns that make taming these things almost child's play, But a stego after the TLC it might be a big help. Using the impale to hold one in place while you build your trap could possibly be viable.

When a megatgerium eats a bug it goes on a rampage and does like 300 damage to everything and takes no damage from anything
for a bit of fun, dino pickup a giga on attack my target and ride a deinonicus, the turkeys can't walk under you and the giga kills them while you add some bleeds and speed around on the deinonicus.. killing 200+ turkeys is rather boring so have to mix it up a little :)

Therizinosaur, C (headbutt) attack, while backing up. You outpace the turkey so it can't even hit you, and deal high damage to it.
Syntac believe it or not there are ALOT of turkeys on aberration especially in the area in the fertile region where you can walk down into the bioluminecant area. I saw at least 3 at once each day
If you stand on top of an industrial grill you slide like on ice, i think you should make like and ice rink out of them and play like dodo hokey with evo or someone. Btw I love you vids.

My most affective turkey killer is a Rex. I build box pens with a ramp, don’t use doorways they can go through them, draw them all in and snap them all up
I suppose that on your taming tracker the tame that you’re on or that you are closest to are on too.
So members can see the videos he make immediately he records it. Never new that.

When in the trap dont shoot while its jumping. Wait till it stops then shoot. Also use 3 gates 4 if needed.

With taming Mana, I find that using a snow owl with good stam is best. YOu get the mana's attention, freeze it in place and hold it there while you slam like 5-6 gates on top it in varied angles, this makes it much much harder for the mana to get out. 2 gates isn't ideal as there's usually too much space between them.
We have our Lightning Wyverns bred up to be SuperTurkey demolishers!
You don't have to aim at something with your wyvern to attack it, it does area damage and can hit your own tames, I thought you knew this considering how many hours you have..when you starting shooting near white owl I almost screamed in horror as I knew it'd die lmao

hey syn, sorry this is a late comment. but there is a mod called “fire’s fixes” that uses dino storage v2 to revert manas into being able to have the same movement as pre-nerf. (it also fixes astrocetus taming) i’m not sure if this goes against your vanilla-ish rules but just letting you know!

Gigas are the ultimate. Can kill a bunch at a time if its decent. I am on unofficial these days but the tamed gigas we bred. No mutations so start with 215 pop imprinted. Server settings they are just over 1000m.... Comparable to official as xbox gigas are hatching over 800m. Hit over thousand melee. Anyway the gigas we use are doing around 4000 damage per hit. They will kill Turkeys and i mean 4 or 5 in a matter of about 5 to 6 hits. Even one barely leveled will kill them in a few hits. You don't have to stress about stamina like you would with another animal.
Captain fatdog has a pretty easy trap to set up and it’s pretty easy to catch them almost every time. I know you don’t like taking other peoples traps thou lol 😂
Mantis are super op against turkeys. Mine just shred. But I also have done a lot of work and got a really good pike BP

That brought back memories. I thought the lightning only killed the baby rexes I was hatching. I went in the pen and wiped out all 6 of my perfect breeding rexes along with the babies. Took me 2 weeks before I logged in again.
And thats when you learned to make a whole seprate hatching building
wyverns elemental attacks (the breaths) do friendly fire..it sucks and no way to turn it off just avoid using it around tames
Valguero consistanly has over spawning issues for me. I once added a mod that lets aberration dinos spawn on any map and when I got on Valguero raptors were spawning in groups of 20-30 all over where the deionychus spawn.
I wonder if there's a classic Mana mod, like classic flyers.
I've looked into this extensively and there are a few, but these mods all come with other features you will have to disable in ini if not wanted. The only standalone one I know of is the tek mana mod which is basically manas pre nerd except they are a tek creature (which looks very cool).
Improved creatures (a mod which improves extinction creatures), Najs speedy flyers (a mods that improves flyers) and fires fixes are all viable options but I prefer Improved creatures and just remove the other creatures apart from velo in the ini files.

I just like to say if your wild mana your trying to tame and it’s gets stuck in mid air while it’s trapped it keeps the dashing attack going so u can’t hit it or get close to it sadly

If you are riding a rockdrake, manas get stuck floating on top of you when they attempt to dive bomb you. Then you can just look up and pump their belly full of darts.

Yeah for the most part you cant kill your tames with your other tames but any tamed wyvern breath attack will still hit exept for the crystal wyvern breaths

I got 500 wishbones in a few hours with an imprinted mantis and a ascendant sword on val the otherday. Much faster with mantis.
