Your cows look in great condition Ted. They were moving right along although I was pleased to see them slow down and walk in the later parts of the video. Couple of questions when they are grazing arable fields like these: what do you do about drinking water supplies when they are feeding on corn stover because I cannot imagine that you have drinking troughs in arable fields? Also what do you do about mins & vits for them as I cannot think they need any short feed in good weather and plenty of forage in front of them?
Hey dan i always look forward to your comments! to answer your question about water is we have a semi truck with a large tank on the back and we just drop portable tanks down in the field and haul water. We do provide minerals as well as supplemental protein the protein is generally fed with alfalfa bales unrolled in front of them WHen the corn and stalks become fewer and further between we do feed some on some fields if it works for us
Fun watching herd moves , pushing them to new feed. Can’t do that around here much anymore, there is enough fence left everything has to be trailered . When do you guys start calving?
We have some fences and some not fences but generally just move them on road even if there are no fences... they know where they are going. We start calving in the first part of march
Yes they are. I am amazed with these colored's all the time. #70 will.take her time and walk with Carin.lol supposed to be working or moving cows and she is over scratching them.lol

Yea its been so ujp and down... overall much warmer than normal talking a blizzard Friday so we will see
