Hi Chris, can’t wait to watch this series of videos. I like the idea of you presenting them initially without commentary and just watching you work. You really do have one of the best channels on RUclips. Many many thanks! 😀👍🏻
Loved this video. Being a professional musician for fifty six years, now living in Florida I might add, I belong to several social media clubs and have musician friends all over the country. I am sharing this video with all of them. Like myself, there are still many musician and non-musician friends that attended Woodstock. One of my friends opened for Melody at the 50th reunion. I hope that they pass your video on to their friends also. Can’t wait to see the finished product! Really enjoy watching what you do and will continue to do so.
Sooo very cool, looking forward to your first episode. Grew up in small town in FL in the 60’s so we had no idea of what was happening in NY. We saw only the film and photos well after the concert and wished we could somehow have been a part of the festival. I just ordered a Peace necklace and after all these years finally get to “be there”. Thanks to you and Steve Gold.
I know this is an extremely cool story and a passion project of yours, but I'm forever 12 years old and giggled like an idiot when you said "he gave me wood". Sorry, Chris. Love your work, hate my own brain.
This is awesome, what a legendary piece of wood to build a guitar from. i was at Woodstock 99 and that was wild, what i woild give to go back in time to be at the OG Woodstock!
I am just going to say that I know this is going to be an amazing build. This video series will not disappoint. I am going to share this with everyone I know. This is a historic moment in the history of arts and music.
Way cool. What a grand way to recognize where the music was made by making an instrument born out of that magical time only to reverberate those vibes forever more.
I think it would be a shame to have the guitar not live a life as an instrument. Maybe ask a series of artists to cover Woodstock songs using it, and donate the proceeds to charity. Then maybe donate it to the Smithsonian. It would be great if it could do a festival or two. The spirit lives on.
There was some I used to work with was there and he told me he was one of the people climbing one of the people climbing the towers for the delay speakers. Also a major venue I worked at with we had we had a major artist a couple of years ago that played at Woodstock and brought the guitar amp he used there.
What a great story! I can't wait to watch this build series! I got so excited about it, I had to order some pieces of the stage memorabilia from his site. It's just so awesome, I love it!! 😄
Like they would say back then ''GROOVE ! Groove Chris I be digging that Woodstock Guitar build video's Shout out to that Cat Steve Gold great find :) PEACE & LOVE Y'ALL YOU DIG IT MAN :) :) :)
Was at Rome Ny for thoes 3 hot crazy days!! Have 2 small pieces of the Artist walls that were tore down in the madness!! What a great time a d sad at the same time...
The acoustic is looking great. A nod to all the folk rock hero’s that played. How about a left handed Strat style solid body? That will be an ultimate Woodstock celebration guitar.
Not quite sure about the “peace medallions” protecting some one from covid but… Mean whole back in reality I can’t wait to see this guitar and who plays it. Hopefully a lot of people that played Woodstock originally and then they sign it maybe. Pretty cool. I was 10 when it happened and my father was in Vietnam so there’s lots of personal memories from that time.
Considering Joni Mitchell wrote the Woodstock song, and didn’t get to be there, it would be neat to somehow include her - playing the guitar or offer her something related to it.
He gave you wood... Nice. He authenticated your wood... Nice. It's nice wood... Nice Your new stock of wood is woodstock wood... Nice. He looked after your wood... Nice. It all seems full of win.
Is any stage wood used on the body, maybe as inlays? What will you use for the fretboard? Perhaps some other period artifacts could be used for a volume control knob if you're putting in active electronics. Would love to hear Joan Baez play it.
Mark twain said, "A sucker is born every minute,." That's almost another 12 million suckers since Woodstock. Including almost 10,00 (to date) that have bought into this 'story' (nonsense).
Steve is such a genuine and warm person! I could listen to him tell stories about anything.
This guitar should have it's own channel...passed around from artist to artist. Known...unknown. Young or old. Spread the music. Spread the love.
You`re gonna write history, building a guitar out of this wood. Awesome.
I'm Steve's age and even though I was about 3,000 miles from Woodstock, I still remember it well.

Wonderful idea and great commemoration of a spirit which is vastly lost !

Such a beautiful and emotional story.

Sister and Brotherhood of the Time Traveling Guitar? Perhaps it lives in Woodstock and artists are invited to play. Would make a great PBS Special.
Have some Woodstock survivors - maybe Crosby, Sebastian, Country Joe - record new music with it.
Just a fantastic video and story. Chris, thank you for sharing.
Very very cool.. i even have ideas for the inlay! Cant wait to watch these episodes.
Excellent intro to an amazing and on-going story. Very excited to see the guitar and its future unfold... Thank you for sharing this.

This is an amazing project! Can’t wait ✌️

Was about to go bed, I guess I got 30 more minutes in me
Right there with you.
Looks like The Stage meets The Tree. Awesome paring.
This is awesome!
Great work.
This is going to be epic!
Looks like a cool project.

You ROCK!
Wow!
Thats a nice adventure ;)

Really great idea!
He gave you wood... Nice.
He authenticated your wood... Nice.
It's nice wood... Nice
Your new stock of wood is woodstock wood... Nice.
He looked after your wood... Nice.
It all seems full of win.
Haha yup. And it happened in 1969… nice
Chris Your guitars GIVE ME WOOD😍😍😜🎸🎹🎼👨🏻🦯👨🏻🦯
this is about a wood stock from woodstock! :D
A guitar made from plywood… ummm, really! A “Driftwood” guitar made from plywood…Ok, now I’m watching. Look forward to the videos.
I know you will decide on the inlays yourselves, but remember the poster had a guitar neck on it.
Alternate title: "How Steve Gave Me Wood"
Hahaha yup
1:58 "... and how he gave me wood" Tee-Hee!
" how he gave you wood"😅 ok i know i know but still couldnt help but chuckle when i heard that. Besides my immature humor this is cool.
I had been thinking it would be cool to take a piece of that wood or a vile of shavings and put it into a guitar somehow
It would be EPIC to get Joan Baez to play.
If there is enough wood make an electric too, something Carlos Santana would like to play.
This episode contains a lot of giving and getting wood.
Is there a link to were I could buy a pendent?
Maybe you can arrange to have Arlo Guthrie perform "Alice's Restaurant" with it!
Is any stage wood used on the body, maybe as inlays? What will you use for the fretboard? Perhaps some other period artifacts could be used for a volume control knob if you're putting in active electronics. Would love to hear Joan Baez play it.
Is there a episode 4? Final.
"he gave me wood" giggity
We need Jesus toast and Jezuz on the flower tortiila.
How many episodes when you do on this build?? DR KEL
Take a shot every time someone says “wood”
Jezzusproducts on a special now
Is the whole guitar going to be made out of plywood?
I think they split the layers and mainly used the hardwood.
He shows that it will be the entire neck that will be made from the plywood. 👍🏼
@@VodI2 Yes I noticed. He probably selected the best pieces or stacked up good layers by himself to give it "the Look". Soon we`ll know.
hype
1:57 sorry had to be marked
Not going to be an electric?
Mark twain said, "A sucker is born every minute,." That's almost another 12 million suckers since Woodstock. Including almost 10,00 (to date) that have bought into this 'story' (nonsense).
Sorry your eyes don’t work. I guess the Smithsonian made it up too?
should have tried to grow that seed. people would pay big money for woodstock weed..
lol what happened to new one...went to get a drink and it was gone
Had to make some edits. It’ll be back up ASAP
@@DriftwoodGuitars ok thanks I will save my drink.
