I often have my V6 stop the motorised brush from turning when there is a rug that blocks the entire head. Then I simply release the trigger, lift the vacuum ja push the trigger again. I can imagine that getting VERY annoying if a vacuum with a button does it often. So does it ever stop the motor head when something is blocking the head?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  11 месяцев назад

@@K1989L Yes, this is a common issue with all cordless vacuums. Certain rugs can prevent the brushroll from spinning.

I own V12 absolute so here the some points that I noted:
    1) the timings for each vacuum part differ so it's not always 60 minutes. also, the eco mode has the longest time (60 minutes) and the boost mode has the lowest time about 5 minutes maximum.
    2) I have no complaint about the level of dirt and dust it collects. does an excellent job
    3) doesn't suck the big objects like tissues. big objects have to be removed by hand
    4) Clean the corners and carpets well.
    5) has a small bin compared to other models coz of less weight.
    6) As it is slim and less weight I use it almost every day because it's easy to handle and doesn't strain my hand.
overall I love this vacuum and I would recommend it.

Nice. We got this for our small 650 Square ft condo and we love it so far. Since our place is pretty small with a lot small corners, it's perfect. Stepping up from an upright corded shark which was pretty good but a hassle to use. This actually makes me look forward to vacuuming as it's fun in a weird way.

I have purchased this Dyson model and have had it for a few weeks now. I am amazed to how much dirt / dust this hoover picks up. I have two small dogs and i hoover at least once every two days sometimes every day but every time ive finished hoovering & look in the transparent dust bin i just shake my head each time as i cannot belive how much crap there is in there. Im sure most of it must be the fibres of the carpet but i do see the dog hairs. I would definitely recommend this hoover to anyone & i would definitely buy Dyson from now on even though there not cheap but i am very happy with the result on my hoovering as proof in its hoover bin 😀

I'm in exactly the same situation, but with wood floors ...that ain't the carpet fur you're sucking up. I have 1000 sq ft and 1 short haired dog (Jack Russell). I vacuum every day now because every single day the bin is full of dust/hair/crap that I couldn't ever see before. One vacuum with the V12 every day is getting the same amount of dust as 7 days of Neato D7 robot vacuuming! It's crazy!

@@Endless.embrace Hi, my property is a 3 bed semi. Yes i can do the whole lot on one charge including the stairs. My downstairs has laminate flooring with two big rugs, the rest of the house has carpet apart from the bathroom. I have the hoover on medium suction. I'd love to hear what other people think about this vacuum.
I recently bought my very first cordless..... The Dyson v12. All the other versions would have been too heavy for me. Even this one hurts me. I'm disabled with chronic illnesses/pain, but it's cleaning powder has blown me away! I can only use it for a wee while anyway, so having only one battery is ok.
I DO have some problems with it though:
    - the big head won't vacuum my doormats, although the pet head will, but it's hard work (although manageable)
    - the bin is sooo small that it often doesn't fill evenly, due to a fin that sticks out from the hinge area. Sometimes 50% will be full, and the other side of the cylinder will be empty!
    - I am trying to find a way for it NOT to set off my dust allergies. Keep getting asthma, which is usually controlled well, when I'm emptying it and cleaning it. My old Meile had HEPA bags, so nothing dusty to empty.
    - There's an on/off button, but the way the handle is designed, with the cylinder's weight over the handle, presses down my my thumb joint, which gets very sore very quickly.
    - I used it to vacuum up some dead leaves from a houseplant, and the exhaust air, at the end of it was soooo powerful, it was blowing everything off the desk, including scattering the very dead leaves I was trying to get!
    - And, despite only using it 5 times, the strip of red fabric has nearly all rubbed of the pet hair head! Couldn't believe it tonight, when I saw it!
Unbelievably, there look to be wee scratches on the base of this head too! I've used it 2 x 20-25 mins, and 3 x 10 mins!
I AM able to return it, until 28th January 2023 if I'm not happy with it.
I've done a lot of research on both the Dyson v12 and the Samsung Bespoke with the self-cleaning thingy, but I decided on the Dyson mainly because I had read that the Samsung is not good at picking up fibres. I don't exactly know what classifies "fibres" but my house is extremely dusty
due to my failing health, and barely being able to vacuum these past 3 years. It feels sooo good to be able to do little 10 minute sessions with a cordless, but I'm just not sure about keeping it.

We're working on a deep dive comparison within the next couple of weeks here.
In the mean time...here are the differences / similarities:
V12 = smaller, smaller dust bin, lighter weight
V12 = slightly more suction (150 AW vs. 140 AW)
V12 = more smart features, smart sensor, fancier display
      V10 = larger dust bin
V12 = slightly longer run time, 51 mins vs. 49 mins on Eco mode

Thanks for your review on the Dyson V12! It helped me make my mind about which Dyson model I should get. In Germany, it's sold here by offering different brushes and tools. The more tools you get in a package, the more expensive. So, is the extra soft brush tool necessary for vacuuming delicate objects or would the combi tool work just as well (since it also has soft bristles)? And would the hair screw tool be a good substitute to vacuum couches and upholstery or should I also try to get the mattress brush tool? Would love to know what you think! Thanks so much!!

    • @ModernCastle

The combi tool (called the Motorhead here in the US) is perfectly fine for hard surface floors and carpets / rugs alike. Soft roller brush is a nice extra, but not required.

      V12 is 2,500 mAh battery
      V15 is 3,600 mAh battery

@@ModernCastle imo modern robovacs render floor heads useless, the only purpose of manual vacuum nowadays is to clean spots unreachable to robovac. I.e. floor corners, inside of a furniture, upholstery and car. And dyson Vs can only deal with upholstery. For other purposes just pure power is needed, and dyson's boost mode is barely enough. V12 lasts only about 5 minutes in boost mode, so battery capacity matter. Though I'm not sure that 8 minutes vs 5 will make big difference.
