Went for a walk tonight with rain clouds swirling in the mountains where I live. Kept this song on repeat. Amazing! The solo at 5:05...this is why metal was invented.
The melody is fire and I love the sound of the chorus. I used to hate "growling" BUT this song was an exception and after this song I got more into growling and heavier songs and I will ALWAYS love this song. This is truly my favorite of all time. I'm turning from an emo into a metalhead help lol

Great video, I needed to have lyrics in front of me. I love the original video but there were parts I couldn't understand. I'm trying to determine what the tone is. At first I thought it was only lovelorn but now it seems somewhat vengeful.
Wow!! Well bud you're going to get a mixed reaction here. First off EXCELLENT JOB on the VIDEO!! Loved it! Looked at the original video and like yours better lol. Now as to the song, that's the mixed part. I googled they were a Finnish melodic death metal band. Ok so the music was excellent! Very enjoyable, the lyrics were impressive although kinda dark. (If I can't share the moon with you then no one will.) Lol 😱. If only the song would have had at least a few good cleans mixed in... But alas the tiny amount of cleans weren't impressive. ☹️ I could understand the singer's vocals but just wasn't too impressed. I would have liked this a good bit more with some good sounding cleans added in a few spots while still keeping the songs growls. Overall I'll give this a 6.8. Great music, good lyrics, but "meh" vocals. I'm a little curious if any of their other songs are a little better in the vocals. Again, great job with the vid, and the song was cool to isten to as well. But the vocals lower the song's score for me.

I agree about the music itself, the thing I love about this band really are the instrumentals (and at points the lyrics). They do have a couple songs that have more clean vocals though, Lose To Night (ruclips.net/video/vw81mcIhDt8/видео.html) is a good one. While We Sleep was an ok song. Shame they messed up the video..... (Ok I'm teasing you)... But come on, it would have been wayyy cooler if those were BAT SWARMS instead of birds. 🤣🤣😂 (I have to admit I saw the lady looking up at the skies and with the title While We Sleep I thought of vampires lol.
Growling vocals are just something you have to get used to before you can enjoy them. And many still prefer clean vocals. (I don't, anymore) Growling makes Insomnium what Insomnium is. Mix of Brutal and Beautiful. It's like recitating a poem, not like singing a song. Niilo's vocals are mixed into the music, not over it. Some will never going to like the growling, but if Insomnium would change to clean vocals, they'll lose the unique "magic" they have.
check their two last albums, Winter's Gate and Heart like a Grave. Absolute masterpieces. Winter's Gate is a 40 min song, with a mix of growling and clean vocals. Try it, you won't regret it!
