@@Zigeuninja yeah it's up there for me too! The writer, Narahara Ittetsu, also wrote Hanachirasu. He dipped after he wrote FMD Muramasa. My guess is that he peaked and was satisfied with his accomplishment. FMD was beautifully written and easily the most philosophically-rich VN ever just with how it examined good/evil, the act of killing, self-sacrifice, and self-acceptance.
