Olympic hooked on a song preformed by Svetlana Zelepukina
Russia Yelena Produnova 2000 Olympics
LiliPod 1996 Olympics!
Jewels R Yes!!!! One of my all time faves!! Prudunovas 2000 floor Olympics team final was amazing!!!!
Olympic Aly Raisman 2012 floor final and Catalina Ponor 2012 floor final
Still my favorite gymnastic routine of all time. No, it's not perfect, but she actually dances and it fits the music. It's captivating. I saw it live. I still remember the announcer saying when she finished "A little angel came down to Georgia tonight. It's so true.
Me too!! Definitely one of my favorite routines of all time. Also Lilia Podkopayeva's floor was one of my favorites!!
I remember that too!
I thought it was perfect 😭 but what do i know, lol
My all time favorite, too.
Looked perfect to me! Definitely my favorite of all time.
I love this routine. She's just sparkling as she flies.
Heh she like literally flies through the air.
She was AMAZING! 💞 I remember watching this young lady fly thru the air on live TV when it happened and we were all just in such awe of her AMAZING abilities! 💞💖
dominique might have never won an individual medal, but she won more hearts which is more important. very unique style and never fails do impress me on how well this routine was executed. should have tied for bronze.
She was my fave.
I would have given her a tie for bronze as well, and she came so close. She event upgraded her tumbling for the finals.
@@singsongeric Looking back, I think 4th was fair considering her difficulty was certainly not up there with Dawes
I have witnessed a lot of figure skating and gymnastics, and this performance has to be at the top of my list. Why? First, the setting. To have this song as your performance music, during the Olympics, in Atlanta, Georiga, and second, so much was riding on the performance. This was the Olympic team finals, with the USA having a chance to do something they had never done, win the team gold medal.
This isn't from team finals. It's from the floor exercise final.
Not to mention she was like 14 at the time 😮
If you read her autobiography you will know how hard gymnastics was for her and all the pressure she had on her to be amazing.
If everyone was up to it, everyone would compete, and compete at an elite level.
I remember watching this when I was 13 and being so amazed. The music was so different than anything I had seen before on a floor routine in the Olympics. This is still one of my favorites.
Jamie I was 12 in 96. I remember watching it too. Dominique Mocheanu was my idol when I was a kid!
Jamie, this was exactly my thought, and why I looked up the video. I remember being so impressed, it made the olympics cool to me as a teenager.
Jamie well said. I too was 13 during the 96’ Olympics and to this day, this routine is the most memorable one for me.
I was 10. Had a crush on her back in the day. Great performance 👏
I feel the same way, she is what I remember each time I watch floor routines. She had a different element that no one else put into their routines. So much fun and she is adorable!
I love this! It gave me goosebumps. I think this has to be the most underrated routine of all time. And could she possibly be any more adorable?
She captured the hearts of all the boys my age back in 1996. Everyone in my middle school was obsessed with her! That Olympics was so awesome.
Yup yup
Me too, i was 13 😄 she was like a mature high-school student to me at the time. Now i see she was just a girl and the white uniforms are inappropriate 😬
she has it factor.
This young lady is such an inspiration. Being national champion, part of the magnificent seven, Olympic gold medal winner- and then having the courage to stand up to, and leave behind unscrupulous and despicable parents to carve her own niche in life.
I remember watching that live. That was the first time I'd ever watched any type of gymnastics. She absolutely killed it. That was a great year for the Women's US Gymnastics team.
C'est la best

Ikr! Can't believe she was only 14 and 4"6'!!!
This was unreal, years passed over and over again, and I can still remember this mesmerizing performance as if it was yesterday, all hail the mighty Dom!
This was "the" Performance "in" Georgia "to" The devil went down to Georgia.. . It was brilliant musically The crowd loved it!

I just realized they were in Georgia haha that's awesome.
I remember watching this on NBC, I rewatched it during late-night & still amazed. Notice the serious, focused stare right before she does all those flips. She was hard-core.
She is some talent. I never watched gymnastics until I saw her by accident. I was floored.
She is my hero!
She studied her cue really well. The music is fast paced and she mush also show gracefulness on the entire length of the performance
everyone's middle school crush of the mid 90's
Literally the definition of iconic.
I love how she went back into the 2nd pass right after the 1st
How cute, she reminds me of little Nadia Comaneci when she got the first 10; the coincidence is Dominique's parents are also romanian
Diana Barbu Thanks for the info. I was just thinking the same thing!! Emily Liberty
She does remind me of Nadia, but I think Dominique is even cuter and more entertaining to watch. I would trade in a perfect 10 for this performance any day
Omg yes she does looks like Nadia!
Maybe it's not a coincidence that there's a resemblance if Dominique's parents are Romanian, hmmm..
This gave me goosebumps. Great song selection. Great energy. Unforgettable moment.
What a treat to see this routine with no commentary finally! Thank you for uploading it!

This was one of my all time favorite if not perhaps my OVERALL FAVORITE OF ALL TIME Olympic gymnast performances!! Dominique Moceano was an AMAZING and SO VERY TALENTED, TINY, ADORABLE BALL of DANCING ENERGY! I LOVED and NEVER TIRED of watching her perform💞. She was AMAZING! I COULDN'T NEVER TIRE of watching her perform to that floor dance to the music 👉"The devil went down to Georgia"!🥰 Dominique is an AWESOME LITTLE ATHLETE with whom I will NEVER FORGET!!!
This will always be one of my all time favorites. I was one of those little girls watching, wishing I could be like her.
As someone else mentioned, the setting! I can almost feel the energy in that audience
This is my favorite floor routine! She’s so cute and talented, and who doesn’t love Charlie Daniels!
Moceanu is actually my Boss second favorite gymnast of all time .......this performance is LEGENDARY
I remember it like it was yesterday. Our young ladies, in those summer games, ABSOLUTELY ROCKED ATLANTA AND THE WORLD!!!
I just love her. Her and Dominique Dawes are my favorites during that year 1995. I even named my daughter Dominique because of this two kids then. A lot are asking why Dominique and they spelled it wrong all the time and mistakenly thought that i have son. Backstory of daughters name . Spread love everyone ❤️❤️❤️
omg this is by far my favorite floor routine. FINALLY A GYMNAST LOOKING LIKE SHES ENJOYING HERSELF
Thats It, LOOKING LIKE shes enjoying herself. Dont you know by now she was pressured an awfull lot and too young to be a le to defend herself?
and 9/10 she really wasn’t
As a lifelong Georgian, I got my entire 9-year-old life when she did this.
I am from Georgia and my whole town loves this song
I remember this because the music really stands out from so many years of watching and doing gymnastics too.
She is still my favorite gymnast of all time. And at the time was a perfect routine.
One of the most perfect routines at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games.... perfectly chosen music and choreography and performance.
Our daughter absolutely LOVED this routine and we took her to see it in person since we lived in Nashville! Our daughter ended up getting a full scholarship for College and it was Dominque, Kim Zemeska and Shannon Miller that shaped a nation of gymnasts!
J
She was such a gorgeous twister. Good form and height. Great job!
I remember watching this on t.v.and soo enjoying the tune by Charlie Daniels. She does such a great performance and it is soo well choreographed to the music. It is a real joy to watch again. Thanks for posting.👍
Is this not the best/most rowdy floor routine in history? The crowd went wild and she did so well
When I read that Charlie Daniels passed away I immediately thought of this classic routine
Me too!
Same! Charlie Daniels was a legend. Great song!
Woooo, it still gets me!!!! What a routine!!!!
Loved her routine!!! She was adorable!!!
What a delightful routine!
one of my favorite floor routines
I remember this performance, one of the most vibrant!
I remember watching this live. I love it every time I see it.
I actually did some math and at the olympics if Dominique had landed a vault she was capable of (9.7 or so) she would’ve placed above Dawes and Strug. She was close behind them even with that fall. She was the only American to post above 9.8s on every other optional routine. I hate that in some ways she’s only remembered for falling.
A go-to video to watch when you woke up grumpier than ever in the morning .
Dat why she my Favorite!🙂🤩😍😘😘😘😊🙃🙂💥💫💫💥💫💥
The best floor routine ❤💙💙💙💙💙
Priceless....
My mom told me stories how wild it was when this happened. How the crowd went so wild when they realized this song played IN Georgia song Devil went down to GEORGIA was genius. It IS wild! I wish I was born then to see it. But sadly born in 93...
If this performance is not GOLD what else is ??? She deserves Platinum which the Judges can not award ;
LOVED this performance by Dominique Moceanu!
Breaking all the guys hearts at 1;25😂😂😂
