We continue on with blaster month! In anticipation for Solo: A Star Wars Story releasing really soon, I build Han Solo's infamous sidearm, the DL-44 Blaster.

Where do you get all the Metal parts. I have one with a Umerex Gun base, but have been ordering plastic parts from Etsy. I am making PROPs for our Han Solo series. Any tips on aging the leather holster?
I have a video on the parts, they are from Dark Energy Creations 😋 for aging the holster I would handle it, toss it around, add a little wear with high grit sandpaper. A wash of dark paint if you really wanna go for it, stuff like that. There was a guy who ages stuff on RUclips, look for post apocalyptic weathering I think.
Very cool. I’ve never tried to take on doing a metal DL, but I’ve made several plastic ones. I’ve been kind of obsessed with them the last couple years.
How did you sand down the bigger pieces? Like the deniz logo or the piece on the barrel? It can't be sandpaper. Also what is blueing? Like painting the gun?
Jan Sieber mostly hand files, some dremeling for the barrel and logo. Bluing is darkening using chemicals, different metals will react with different ones.
Cut off enough so that it ended at the bottom of the flash hider. If you're gonna grind the rear of the barrel for the bull barrel fitment, be sure to take that into consideration 🙂

How much of the barrel did you cut off do you think? Also what is the best way to attach the scope?

Jan Sieber I used Birchwood Casey brand stuff. Aluminium black for the aluminium parts and super blue for the others, check 3:23
