It only gets better from here on out for the Chinese air tree, one of the best investments I’ve made in this game hands down
J-10a can come anytime now. Because it isn't too strong and I think can only take 4 missiles. It can take PL-12's but I really think it won't be higher than 12.3. The SU-30 could come but even if it doesn't, they will hopefully, possibly get the J-15 to the end of this year if not earlier. I mean they added the MiG-29 SMT very soon too. So, who knows. The J-16 and SU-35 I think will come later. Not this upcoming year. And if, then in the december patch

@@panzernerd8486 also the j10c compared to the viper V is kinda lacking, but should be okay compared to the block 50 we have in game. Imo it should come alongside the F15C and Su-30, with its pl12

Best part is the model is NOT a copy-paste of Su-27.
They are some visual different between the Su-17 and J-11. Some antenna are different, the external lights are also different, Su-27 have more yellow-ish front canopy, and the J-11 have formation lights. I haven't look that closely with in-game model, but as far as I see, they are accurately represent, so Kudo to Gaijin for that.
And the j11 (in game at least) is a couple hundred kilos heavier.
Gaijin outsources its modelling so kudo to them paying for a new model.

can anyone explain the appeal in top tier air? from what i've seen of it, all the dogfighting and energy conservation of prop planes is basically removed in favour of... auto locking missiles onto eachother, deploying flares when needed, and playing and equipping the right jets and missiles. i understand for some people the vehicles are interesting, but is the gameplay just objectively more dull?
Basically, it's as you said, but someone will like everything, although jet dogfighting can be interesting, ignoring missiles ofc
Top tier ground rub isn’t that interesting it’s just whoever see someone first they die but I’m an USA players so it’s horrible
It’s terrible, that’s why everyone is trying to get gaijin to update the game mode. But if you like “modern” jets and want to fly them you are forced to play this joke of a gamemode or sim, but sim is pretty painful at this rank if you don’t have a full setup.(hotas head tracker etc)
Hard to explain, just gotta play it yourself, and everyone has different opinion, ive never went back to bottom tier. It really isn't point and shoot if someone says that they suffer from skill issue. Alot of people don't play top tier the right way.
The Eastern bloc missiles outclass the Western bloc ones currently. Though I feel that the AIM 7M sparrow needs to be buffed as that missile performed pretty well especially in the Gulf War with nearly 70 percent success rate in downing Iraqi fighters.
Wish that Gaijin would make it more competitive by buffing the sparrow
7M needs a buff and we need 7Ps to fill the gap till we get AMRAAM

Some missiles that are unreliable get modelled that way too (the janky 8.3 French missiles for example) that will randomly explode, considering how unreliable r27 is irl if that was modelled in game it might be bearable

R73 get flared easily at higher ranges, you should use them at 1.5kms then they are smacking hard no mattter if u pop all your flares

My brother keeps asking why I hardly ever play any of my 10.7+ jets? Yea like what am i supposed to do against top jets, with only flares, and 2 IR AAMs that sometimes not even all aspect. I'm no charity, and in assault the RP reward is a joke (for a rank 7/rank 8 jet at least), not to mention I refuse to fight if I have no chance to survive (win) anyway.
The J11 we have in game was assembled from soviet made part kits in China,i think the J11 you are asking is the J11A with improved avionics and Chinese domestic missiles.
So us pretty much just a re-skin since the J11A would be too good for the game right now
If you mean stuff like the f-5s in the Taiwan subtree I’m having a hell of a time with them atm feels pretty nice
Well, first it is the Su-27SK, imported to china, and J-11 is just a chineese designation, changes to the equipment and avionics come with J-11A and later variants
Second, R-73 is a pretty long range missle for its class, with extreme maneuverability due to thrust vectoring
Third, current air rb state is pretty bad, for some time it was convergance at the center with a huge furball, then people started flanking and now we have large groups of people flying to the side of the battlefield to turn around and engage (melting against enemy team in the process) and few guys taking extreme flank to strike at the back of the enemy team.. So its pretty sad, especially if you are the only one in the team with some braincells and it ends up as 1v5/1v10, because all of your team died in a first head-on.
Current air RB needs spacing out on the frontline and most importantly tasks for players to actually follow (not the current "shoot the bot flying at mach 2 and get 600 sl for it"), especially for attacker aircraft cause playing them from 9.7 and higher is a most frustrating experience that you can have in this game with all the base stealing and general lack of any manners in the playerbase
We also need fighter jets to stop carrying bombs and rockets as 1. They are too focused on bombing and die 2. Makes strike aircrafts redundant like tornado, mig27, jh7a etc

The chinese grind isn't bad but god it would be so much more fun if it got 4 all aspects.
(Considering the Lazur has a better flight model and gets 6 all aspect missles at 11.0 it doesnt seem to far fetched)
All chinese jets past j7II should get pl5c. Heck j7e literally had pl2 as a research option which is ridiculous for 11.0
The comment on everyone getting just 1 or 2 kills is so far from true, since the update I’ve gone from getting 1-2 kills a game, to getting aces every hour

i really dont understand how r73 works. Is it just CC luck? Frontal aspect my r73 gets 1 flared. youtubers r73 can have 1k flares in the seeker and around the target and it will just go through.

@@norske_ow3440 Have you actually tried it? You always get picked off by an r 73 before you can even get close in for a dpgfight that you can win. Your python 3s are useless because thet have no flare resistance and aren't smokeless.
