When I listen to music with head phones on, there are many songs that use this effect.. So what you are saying is probably a better way to describe it. Maybe someone who really knows their stuff will respond with a better technical explanation and we will both learn something 😙.

I think it's when they record so you hear parts in left and right ear separately, back and forth, but not at the same time.
