12. Esempio audio 8: Luke and Leia
La versione estesa di questo tema, che rappresenta il legame fra Luke e Leia, è molto più ampia e articolata di quanto poi questo motivo non sia stato effettivamente utilizzato nel film. Видеоклипы
Probably the most underrated Star Wars theme of all
Definitely the most underused theme of the series
Totally agree… and i must say, one of the most beautiful themes of all Williams’s compositions!
nah, "Asteroid Field" is.
I'm totally agree with you!
When this music plays when Luke and Leia reunite, pretty sure every Star Wars fan out there is going to cry in the theatre including myself
+John Barron I sooo want to hear that in upcoming episodes. One of the less known Star Wars themes and undeservedly so
+John Barron I just posted this link on Facebook saying that!!!!
dude if that happened holy shit I'm going to bawl
+John Barron OH MY GOODNESS YES.
+John Barron It needs to happen. When the grizzled brother returns to face his saddened, emotionally aged sister, having been through so much, there will be much regret and melancholy, but also a spark of hope. This piece would serve that scene well.
No one's ever really gone
Not even Palpatine 🤓
In before someone mentions Hitler
Pizza time
When sleep I cannot, listen to this I do.
Wise you are
Me rn 👀
Me last night! Such a beautiful piece of music.
Yes master yoda
Rest in Peace Carrie Fisher. You were the leader of a rebellion, a warrior of justice, a protector of freedom, and a person to look up to in a galaxy torn asunder. May you be one with the force now.
Please please pleeeeeease let them REUNITE in Ep. VIII. They've already (*spoiler*) lost Han Solo.. :'(
im sure they will
It will be the only way we can hear this theme again.
Alexander LI They did! Along with this theme!
*SPOILER!!!* Luke and Leia reunites on Crait!
And to think Episode VIII will be the last time ever we'll see Leia and Luke together. So heartbreaking. May Carrie Fisher rest in peace. Our princess. Our general. Our hero.
JJ Abrams: Hold my beer
@@maddoxcindy5017 I hate him
Luckily it wasn't! They were together at the end of TRoS.
They played this theme too
There's a warmth, majesty and nobility to this track that make it my favourite out of all the wonderful music John Williams has composed for the Star Wars saga.
_"Luke, run away, far away. If he can feel your presence, then leave this place!"_
I bet Luke would never imagine he'd be talking his sister's advice years in the future...but things can really change when you lose your own dear nephew, and son of your loving sister and best friend. Likewise, if only Leia knew she wouldn't want those words when her son turned. But thankfully the Jedi Warrior in him did come back to save the Resistance from disaster. And left behind what the young boy from Tatooine always was. A legend. May you be one with the force forever, young Skywalkers...
I don't think Luke *would* run, though. It's so out of character for what he's shown he could bear for the entire Original Trilogy. IMO, sequels are soft canon.
@@layzabullit Personally after a third downfall and realizing the entire Jedi order itself is a failure (an overarching theme actually first brought up in the prequels), and just one moment being that close to causing you to lose another family member, eh, I'd understand. In fact, it's basically a callback to what Luke learned in Empire Strikes Back. IE the last time he tried to go somewhere and act on impulse instead of collecting his mind and thinking about everything, he ended up putting his friends in more danger and got his own hand cut off. And his collected thoughts lead him to a reasonable view. Wherever the Jedi go, things get worse and more darkside users arise.
With that being said, Rise of Skywalker I don't want anything to do with. JJ should have just made VII and that's it. Now, should Trevorrow have been in charge of IX? Maybe. His leaked script for IX has many major problems but it's a far more interesting continuation of VII and VIII than whatever the hell IX was. VII and VIII felt like genuine stories while IX was basically Star Wars porn for two and a half hours.
@@pacman5698 Trevorrows 9 script was beautiful, that movie would have made me and many others accept the sequels much more. It made last jedi bearable and actually handled all the characters in meaningful ways. VIII didnt feel like star wars at all except the luke parts. The whole plot of 8 is that the jedi order is GOOD, the prequels show the flaws in the jedi, but they are still the good guys, the heroes.
@@tylercrebs466 In TLJ the order comes to an end, but the Jedi as an idea still love on. That's why Yoda burns the tree but Rey saves the texts from before the order was formed. Symbolism.
Also, the original version of IX still needs more rewrites but it's still way better than RoS.
@@pacman5698 A literal piece of shit is still superior to TROS, that movies singlehandedly destroys all previous 8 movies. The jedi order doesnt come to an end, rey is now a jedi to carry it on . Thats why she has the texts so she can rebuild, yoda destroys the tree because 1. he knows rey took the books, and 2. he needs to teach luke a final lesson to stop looking to to the past/future and focus on the present and what needs to be done.
Spoiler for The Last Jedi.
When this plays in The Last Jedi when Luke and Leia reunite I cry. Such a touching moment.
But they didn't really reunite though. While it was a good scene, it could have been incredible
Daniel James they did reunite in a sense, Atleast they talked to each other one last time
VaderKnight321 I suppose, but that scene could have been so much more. When you think about it, we will never get the reunion of the original trio ever again. Probably cause their white, and Hollywood is full of sjws.
Daniel James what?
@@GreenFalcon926
Did you realise that Leia enters Luke's life as a hologram, as a projection, calling for help. And that Luke leaves Leia's life as a projection as he responds to her call for help? Utterly beautiful. Thank you Rian.
Something about Return of the Jedi makes me very emotional...the familiar redwood trees of my county (Endor), Vader and Yoda's deaths...the whole thing
It is very emotional because at the time it was the end of something that one of us were ready to say goodbye to.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
+Cyber Venom7 oh shit you are right. Sorry
+Daniel Johnson I can't believe you just spoiled the ending of Star Wars for me I didn't know Vader and yoda died even when I watched the movie so many times😱😭how could you
+Daniel Johnson it gives me a feeling of being a kid again.
The Force runs strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. And... my sister has it. Yes. It's you, Leia.
i know. somehow I've always known.
+Christine Bergmann then you know why I have to face him
can you tell luke? is that who u can tell?
+MrPete8680 I
Aghhhh
I'm sorry
Hold me!
Reprised in Episode VIII!!!
Say what you will about the film but 8 has an amazing ost
Used at my wedding during the seating of the family. Was perfect. Then we exited to The Throne Room from ANH. Was also perfect. :)
Jedi Rocks at the reception?
@@HarryBillyBobGeorge Nah Cantina band XD
I truly believe that with Han gone, and Luke and Leia being the remaining main protagonists from the original trilogy - this theme should definitely be reprised in Episode VIII. It would be symbolic, maybe to show that Luke and Leia grow closer after the death of Han. That would be a fantastic way to reprise the theme.
EDIT: After the passing of Carrie Fisher, it would be a brilliant idea on Williams' part to reprise this theme. Both Leia and Han won't be in Episode IX, think of that. If Leia and Luke reunite in Episode VIII, this theme needs to be reprised!
Even more so now. :(
i hope they reunite in Ep. VIII. :'(
Williams should know well enough to reprise this theme for Episode VIII, not only because Luke and Leia could reunite, but also because of Fisher's passing.
i wish they would have had her daughter play her in make up or something to make it so the character isn't killed off because it will ruin episode 9. i don't mean to be petty i just feel this way that's all
I'm not sure what'll happen to her character, but regardless, Episode 8 is set to be Leia's last appearance. The reprise of this theme would truly complete her role.
One of the more underrated pieces, I love this, up there with most iconic Star Wars themes
I literally teared up watching the reunion with Luke and Leia in the last Jedi.
When this music started something moved inside me.
I also did until realizing Luke didn't come there at all. -_-
Han's there in sprit with the dice
Wi11iamson No he's not, only a few Jedi can turn in to spirits. 🙂👍
Commander Shepard I didn't mean literally. I ment the dice represents Han.
This is my favorite theme from all the Star Wars soundtracks.
Mine too!
...and possibly my fave John Williams music ever, though that's a really hard thing to decide.
Sanctimoniously Mine, too. Absolutely.
Sanctimoniously Mine too!
Same here. Such an underappreciated piece.
3:04 I cry everytime
+Erika Fiore (Lebonah) I get you.
When they played this in Last Jedi- I was ugly crying for sure
it's like a very happy-ending-of-disney-movie moment, such a classic
When it played in Last Jedi...
Luke Skywalker literal tears
I without a doubt was a mess of emotions
Kyelum I felt that way, in a good and bad way lol.
I cried.
You gotta let go of the past, but it is hard!
This theme is used a lot in The Last Jedi, it is both in memory of Carrie Fisher and a tribute to Luke and Leia
I have been publicly humiliated for the last time! Its only used one time when they met again i think
shitty movie
This track is so underrated. It's one of the most beautiful piece of music in Star Wars.
I know what you're going to say... I changed my hair.
Josh Lambert It's nice that way
That was the wrong thing to say. Luke and Leia finally reunited on screen for the last time, and it's a callback to a throwaway line from the last movie.
Spent Lizard Lighten up, Francis
Yoda Changed his Hair too.
Spent Lizard People criticise Star Wars in ways that no one would ever critique any other movie.
When I was reading the books (legends of course, they're the best, the classics and, the true canon in my opinion) whenever Luke and Mara Jade had a profound moment, I always played this song whilst reading. It's just so fitting. Especially in Hand of Thrawn.
Leia ... You have that power too . RIP
When dear Annie leaved his mom in 1, I felt sadness in my heart,
When his mother died in 2, my throat was aching,
When Order 66 was pronounced and when Anakin burned, I was devasted by the betrayal,
When Obi-Wan told Luke about the jedi, I was amazed,
When Vader told Luke his true nature, I was retaining my breath,
When Vader died, I was touched by his redemption,
When Han died, I felt sad about his pain, being killed by his own son,
But when Luke and Leia reunited, I think I cried.
Say what you want about the Last Jedi, it has a lot of flaws... but it's actually the only Star Wars which made me cry.
This comment had me in tears.
Each movie from the OT has at least one moment that made me cry. TFA made me cry when Chewie screamed his pain to see Han die. TLJ was pure shit imho, but to see 2 of my childhood heroes reunited did make me cry too!!
The prequels never made me cry though (because the characters were so badly written), although I felt devastated by Order 66, mostly because of the music. John Williams is not a legend, he’s a god!!
I choked back tears in the theater when Harrison Ford did his cameo as Han in Rise of Skywalker, forgiving Ben so he could make peace with himself.
I didn't expect Ford to be in the series ever again, it blindsided me.
Think he said in an interview that it was his way of paying tribute to Carrie Fisher's memory
I got really emotional reading this comment, holy shinx
This piece makes me wish I could play the French horn.
Luke Stager This piece makes me want to pick up the French horn again.
Lol, it's why I chose it in band class.
@@aaronme6603 that was really frustrating. During band sessions instead of playing such beautiful themes I had to play accompaniment all the time.
one of the best themes!
JOHN FREAKING WILLIAMS.
Luke is gone when the credits roll, but it's more like he ascends. He vanishes in the same way Yoda does in Return of the Jedi after projecting himself across the galaxy to fight Kylo and give the resistance time to escape Crait.
Hoping to hear this on The Last Jedi! The feeeeeeeels!! :(
Aston prepare to feel...
So much juicy extended tonality in this piece! Whenever I play it on the piano I'm always surprised by all the weird extra notes you wouldn't think are there just from listening.
I first heard "Make Our Garden Grow" with my ailing dad in his hospital bed. Now, I hear its influence in "Luke and Leia" and cannot but remember him. May the Force be with you, Pa, always (and also with us all)
"I held out hope for so long, but.... I know my son is gone..."
"No one's ever really gone."
Lowkey makes me cry every time and I don't know why
Star Wars shall never be forgotten, it has touched too many hearts. May the force be with you.
All I wanted from TLJ was this theme and Force ghosts. I got both, in even more beautiful ways than I could have imagined.
no one's ever really gone
R.I.P Carrie, I miss you already. We all love and miss you
John Williams’ most underrated creation by a mile. There is more character, emotion, and beauty in this one piece that some films have in their entire scores. Absolutely brilliant; I never tire of listening to this.
A fairly simple tune becomes something extraordinary from 2:02 to 2:25 and stays at that higher level from then on. Great song.
A while ago I said this is my favorite theme of all the Star Wars soundtracks. If this is in Episode VIII, I will break down in the theater.
Well, did you?
@@salmonmammaries4485 - I did ;)
Classic Star Wars was just pure magic. The prequels and sequel trilogy’s just couldn’t top the grace and emotional weight of the original trilogy era. ✨✨
Goodbye, Carrie Fisher.
Star Wars will truly never be the same again without you.
My favourite theme i wish to hear it in a new film if Leia reunites with Luke it would give me chills :D Which is giving me just listening to this track...gtta LOVE Johny Williams....LOVE HIM VERY MUCH....:)
Williams should use this in The Force Awakens
+emmawatsonlover More like Episode 8.
Yeah! :D
But I hope...it´s my favourite theme of his...
Williams has been playing this piece several times in concert recently. He will perhaps use it once again in the next movie. I love how Williams hints at Leia's Theme in this piece.
GGbreizh he has concerts?
Why does all Star Wars music makes me so emotional??? Like- 🥺
This Fits Grogu More Than Luke and Leia’s Relationship.
0:00 Represents Grogu’s Crazy Moments
0:24 Represents His First Appearance
1:21 Represents His Heartwarming/Cute Moments
3:03 Represents His Relationship With Him and Din Djarin (Mando)
3:23 Represents Grogu Remembering His Dead Parents (Yoda and Yaddle)
And 3:47 Represents Din Saying Goodbye to Him
This theme is possibly the greatest that John Williams ever composed for the SW saga. It's a symphonic beauty intertwining Luke and Leia's motifs reaching for a satisfying conclusion that is truly beautiful ❤
Rest in peace Carrie Fisher.
Makes me cry. Because it's the most beautiful musical tracks out of the Original Trilogy. 2nd to Across the Stars and 3rd Anakin's Betrayal. I remember when the Luke and Leia track played in one of the old Legends Thrawn Trilogy audio books. When Jason and Jena Solo were being born. It was so mesmerizing (In a good way) it was beautiful. Birth is a beautiful thing. OK done with the comment. I think I'm tearing up again 😢🤧
Without the weird stuff I always picture this theme when I’m with my own sister. God, we’re so opposite on everything but I adore that kid.
3:22 LEGO Star Wars, Luke and Leia's birth & Padmé's death scene in Episode III.
The incipit of this theme reminds me "Make Our Garden Grow" from Candide by Bernstein... great theme!
+bearsrider I thought the same thing (and commented as such before I saw yours, whoops)!
I just noticed this while watching the new film! Just performed "Make our Garden Grow" last month which put it in my head.
Listening to these themes always brings me peace, even when life it shit, I listen to this and it takes me to great places and lifts my mood, as Star Wars has always done
A work of art
"No one's ever really gone"
this and rebel briefing are my top two star wars themes INSANELY GOOD
Hearing this + Han Solo and The Princess, and the Force theme with the twin suns in TLJ made me so wonderfully happy. John Williams is a genius
I bet this will be in Episode VIII
You were right :)
CGI You were right about me. Tell your sister... you were right.
My horn teacher from RAM, Terry Drac Johns playing the beautiful horn solo.
Rest in peace, princess...
R I P.
Carrie Fisher.
We will miss you.
Rest in peace Carrie Fisher!
John Williams (to his first horn player): hey did you like your princess leia solo in a new hope?
Horn player: Yeah
John Williams: Ok here's another one
rip Carrie Fisher, we will never forget you
It's sad when we basically saw their birth and death in the movies
The part from 3:04 to 3:40 always gave me goosebumps in the opening cinematics for X-Wing Alliance :)
I love this theme even more now, thank you Rian Johnson
Yes, Thanks Rian for ruining Star Wars
He didn’t ruin anything. He made it something even more inspirational.
I agree with you completely, CGI.
Zachary Taylor he didn't ruin Star Wars whatsoever, but I know know where you come from. The last Jedi was a mess of a movie that led nowhere.
This theme blows me away every time I hear it.
Is this the most beautiful star wars theme? Yes
Does it hit really hard when it returns in the last Jedi? Absolutely
I've come back from The Last Jedi and I'm so sad :(
I am really want to hear this song play at the end of Episode VIII, if Leia die.
Luke and Rey glare silenctly at the space and cut to black. It's best way to mirror the Empire Strike Back.
The relationship between the twins is the best thing I love about Star Wars saga.
Tivawarin Rathratree It would hurt even more than when Han died. She could be killed by Kylo Ren as well and Luke could go ballistic on him.
Pianotendo Well, with Carrie sadly passes away today, we can be sure that Leia will find a way to unite with the force.
They'll need to rewrite Episode XI.
Beautiful piece and absolutely gorgeous horn solo.
My teacher from RAM many years ago, Terry "Drac"Johns
I love the fact this exact same theme played in The Last Jedi when Leia and Luke finally saw each other again
2:23 I love John Williams. Instantly recognizable in TRoS!!!
Awesome Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi Luke and Leia Video.
So warm and beautifull theme, plenty of sweetness.
The Last Jedi feels
I came to face him, Leia. And I can't save him.
I held out hope for so long. But I know my son is gone.
No one's ever really gone.
I'm crying right now.
John Williams is a god.
Obi-wan too😂
Wow, I somehow don't remember this song. I thought it was a completely original piece composed for The Last Jedi. This is so awesome
out of all the soundtracks this is my favorite piece
I absolutely love this theme :)
Something nostalgic and magical about the music in Star Wars that has a feeling like no other.
The main part of this theme sounds like "Make Our Garden Grow" from Candide to me. This piece is absolutely beautiful.
From 2:03 to 2:23 this is the most intense and emotionally powerful piece of the soundtrack of the entire saga along with 3:04
Always love that they used this in the intro to X-Wing Alliance.
Makes me cry cause I love my sister so, so much :(
Does anyone else remember this from the Champions of the Force online TCG for Star Wars Galaxies? I remember playing that game, oh, 8-9 years ago and this lovely, lovely track accompanying it. And rest in peace, Carrie Fisher.
3:23-3:39 I was listening to the Rotj score for the first time several months ago, and while I didn’t really remember the song from the movi, this part really sounded familiar. I didn’t know where I heard it, but I seemed to remember the segment ending with the sound of babies crying. A couple weeks later, I found a video compiling every cutscene from the LEGO game when it finally hit me: that I remembered this but from the cutscene in rots when the twins were born.
This is probably the most underrated theme
oh williams williams williams, youre not human to make great music like that
I'm gonna openly bawl when Luke and Leia see each other again for the first time in at least 6(?) years in The Last Jedi.
I'm gonna openly bawl when Luke and Leia give each other the brother/sister hug to end all brother/sister hugs in The Last Jedi.
I'm gonna openly bawl and cheer if and when Rey is invited into said brother/sister hug and it becomes a family hug for the last 3 living Skywalkers who aren't psychotic, murderous, power-tripping assholes (if Rey turns out to be Luke's daughter, that is) in The Last Jedi.
I'm gonna openly bawl if R2-D2, C-3P0, and/or Chewie try to join said hug in The Last Jedi.
I'm gonna openly bawl and laugh at the same time if Finn and/or Poe kill the moment by asking them "Why's everybody hugging each other?" in The Last Jedi.
I'm gonna openly bawl and curse John Williams' name if any of the above happens in The Last Jedi and this theme isn't playing in the background.
I'm gonna openly bawl during The Last Jedi.
They did it...
I have news from the future, the theme is very prominent in the new movie. It’s also the theme they play immediately after the finale
Kyle Strom I came so close to crying when they played the theme in last Jedi. It was so beautiful
no it's not
You where a leader on film as much in life. Goodbye your worship.
0:27, 1:21, and 3:03 is Like The Theme from The Godfather But in a Major Key!
John Williams Isolated Score Luke & Leia
1:20-2:05 I remember this part from the 2004 DVD on the second disc with the 1983 version. It was a menu theme.
Has a little bit of wagner harmony... but wagners sound is a bigger
Rest an peace Carrie Fisher and Peter as Chewbacca we love you from the Original Trilogy of Star Wars Forever.
the best John Williams, London Symphony Orchestra
Today is Star Wars day so "May the 4th Be With You!"
It is very emotional because it was the end of something at the time that none of us were ready to say goodbye to.
+CrystalM2014 I guess we have to drop by Star Wars again in December to once again say "Hello"
+Mairi Corinna MOST DEFINITELY!!
