@@PlatinumSperms Nope, there's been a countdown towards something else which has been going on since last week To the point where the mp100 anime director has commented on it
OPM is more about Genos and the other S class heros then Saitama over the past few years. MOB was good cause it knew when to end. I'm hoping the final arc is a film
After finishing the manga, Mob Psycho 100 will always be in my top 10 anime. It had a simple message and it freaking nailed it. MP100 is such a kind and accepting anime.
Mob Psycho 100 is one of the greatest pieces of story ever written, I have nothing but love and respect for the writer ONE for creating such an inspirational, motivational and heart touching story. I wish more people would look past the art style and experience mob psycho, it's something you'd call life changing. It is a story that can alter the way you view life and want to live your life, it is a story that can have an everlasting impact on you and change your life for the better no matter how cliche that may sound. A one of a kind story.
Honestly I love them both and I just couldn't imagine comparing them because they're just so different, OPM shows Saitama's life and how because he's so OP nothing really excites him anymore and with Mob Psycho Mob has to deal with the fact that he has to learn to control his powers otherwise they'll go crazy and probably destroy the world so to compare them would be stupid as they both tell different stories about two really strong characters
Honestly they're both amazing in their own right, in my perspective they both deal with some sort of existentialism. Saitama can literally destroy everything in a single blow, yet he deals with everyday life as a normal person with actual emotion would and how to find purpose in it. Mob is all about finding one's self or personal interests above your own supernatural transcendence, it's TRYING to be normal when you are beyond that. Mob Psycho 100 just kept getting better and better until the absolute gut punch that is season 2 dropped and I absolutely prefered it over OPM's S2. Both amazing, but damn Mob Psycho 100 is just such a ride.
I rewatched onepunchman season 2, it really was pretty great animation. I think it just got overshadowed by season 1's animation. The intensity in season 2 is still good. (not flapped at all) I agree with connor here.
I definitely disagree with Joey and Garnt on this because OPM’s story right now is fucking incredible and people who have read the webcomic know how good the conclusion of this arc is, and the webcomic does prove that people love OPM for the story
I agree with you, I read up past this arc in the webcomic and still enjoyed the hell out of it despite the art not being up to most people’s standards.
i think they just meant in terms of anime, because if we're talking about anime, mob psycho has much more depth to its characters and (imo) the story (or what it is trying to convey in general) was handled much better
@@mikeykwaak272 agreed. I don't like how garnt and Joey were like 'Bro OPM S2 is garbage and unwatchable'. Personally I like S2 more in terms of characters and story. The animation was not that bad though, dunno why people are hating on it.
Yeah, but Murata dragged the story to the ground with his abysmal pacing and redraws. Let me remind you, Monster Raid arc started at chapter 51. That was 5-6 years ago. Inexcusable. inb4 b-but the art is good tho
While OPM didn't start life with the intention of being a complete story, his subsequent efforts were (Yes, ONE actually has quite a few stories that are basically never talked about). I'm sure he tried a lot harder to make a concerted effort with MP100 and his other less popular stories, unlike his unexpected success with OPM. ONE likes all of his work, but MP100 is more special to him since it became popular with the intention for it to do well. I still don't believe that makes MP100 better than OPM, but I understand that some people are happier with a good finished product than a better unfinished one.
I actually remember, quite a long while ago, I attempted to watch Mob Psycho. I got through 1 episode and I actually ended up dropping it because I was not a fan of the art style. I felt like it was like I was watching a newspaper article cartoon like Garfield or something become animated. it just felt way too cartoony & childish for me. fast forward several months... maybe a year, I can't remember how long exactly, I did eventually give it a 2nd shot after a friend convinced me to. I still was not impressed with the art style, but I managed to tolerate it enough to sit through and boy oh boy was I pleasantly surprised with how good of an anime it ended up being. I have watched both season 1 and 2 & I would be glad if there were a season 3, though it doesn't seem likely. with regards to comparing One Punch Man & Mob Psycho, I do agree with Garnt & Joey. Mob overall is more well built than One Punch. though, to play the devil's advocate, I'd like to say that One Punch Man is such a great comedy anime with action scenes inserted throughout, so I don't go into the anime expecting to see god tier animation like a Makoto Shinkai work or anything similar. it's simply a fun, entertaining series and therefore I do not mind that season 2 ended up worse than season 1. I never once thought to myself "man, this anime was a waste of my time", it was more of "well that was fun & comedic, I got some good laughs out of that". TL;DR is basically I have high respect for both series.
One Punch Man *Remake* fans: Garou has such a creative character arc! One Punch Man *Original* fans: Who? Was he part of the Hero Association or Neo Heroes?😂
As someone who reads the one punch manga , both are amazing , mob psycho 100 have better story and one punch man have better villans and comedy , both are top tier
Episode 5 of Mob Psycho 100 season 2 is IMO one of the best episodes of any anime ever. Such an amazing series overall, hopefully they'll adapt the spin-offs as well.
The thing about mob psycho manga is that near the end it has a lot of chapters that are numbered with decimals , so for an outsider it would look like there isn't enough chapters for season 3 but there is
Exactly! I'm convinced all these people saying there isn't enough for season 3 haven't read the manga and are just regurgitating what others are saying.
Didn't get into OPM hype plus I kinda stay away from long running series, manga or anime, thus I can't tell which is better. BUT MP100 my goodness. It was god tier. The writing of each episode was just chef's kiss. The colors and style are just refreshing from the plethora of Shonens out there. Hope there's a S3 and they maintain that quality from S1 and 2.
They're both good shows/mangas made by the same guy, just watch them lol Also, I'll never get the whole "It's just a gimmick" argument because EVERY show has a gimmick that pulls you in (Superpowers, setting, characters, etc)

I honestly thought Mob Psycho 100 was pretty mid after season one, but I just finally sat down and watched season two and I was blown away. I'm not sure if I was just trippin the first time I watched season one but right now I feel like season two was way better.
Having watched both series (up to season 2 for each) here's my opinion: Better Characters: Mob Psycho 100 since the fist few episodes Better Story: Mob Psycho 100 since the fist few episodes...again Better Worldbuilding: One Punch Man since the fist few episodes Better Fighting System: Mob Psycho 100 only after watching the second half of season 2 PS: Mob Psycho 100 is my top 2 and One Punch Man is my top 5 (I love them both
Honestly, even though season 2 was nothing compared to season 1, it still a good anime (season 2) in general So even though season 2 doesn't live up to the expectation of the season 1, it doesn't mean it's bad
I liked One Punch Man more than Mob Psycho, but not for the reason I initially thought I would. Many people complain about Saitama not having any character development, but I think that's one of the best things about the show. Saitama doesn't mature or change as a character because he's made no effort to. Many shows seem to thrust development on undeserving characters, so it's refreshing to see Saitama's treatment. I think many people misconstrue the point of One Punch Man. Saitama isn't solely looking for a challenging fight which will make him feel excited again, he's looking for something in life that gives him purpose. The point of the show isn't about external problems affecting Saitama, such as being overpowered, it's Saitama's internal struggle to find purpose in his life. IMO Saitama is a far more relatable character than Mob. Saitama's struggle to find enjoyment or satisfaction in life is something that I found very relatable, but I couldn't find myself understanding many of the problems that Mob was facing. I can see why people life Mob Psycho 100 more than One Punch Man, and it is arguably objectively better, but I was able to appreciate, enjoy, and relate to One Punch Man much more.
Still OPM not end yet still more many things to happen, but yeah longer story is somewhat better. I really hope next season of OPM animation can par to the art of the manga.
I have to agree with Connor on this one. I just really like the ironic tension and themes that go on in OPM. It is less about the plot - more about how they explore different dynamics we've seen a thousand times in a fun-spirited, sometimes emotional, sometimes humorous light.
Yeah honestly mob psycho just feels like the better more complete package of content, the most important component of which being how it hits me in the feels just right on the regular. I'm kinda starting to feel the format of content s1 of one punch man covered suited the series better (stories that could be told in 1-3 anime episodes of content) the more long story of the garou and monster association stuff feels kinda drawn out at the point the manga is now and how saitama is handled in terms of how to keep him out of fights for as long as possible is just kinda getting old it just doesn't feel as funny or possibly tense as I'd like to
You can't compare Mob Psycho and OPM, both series set out to do different things, and they both excel at those things, but they aren't directly comparable. Mob Psycho is a show about growth to achieve social success, while OPM is more focused on individual growth for an individuals sake.
I do agree it can't be really compared one to one, but I feel like both are pretty similar in focusing on individual growth, just at different stages of life. One more crucial than the other. Mob is still a teenager, facing the struggles of being a young boy trying to fit in, and Saitama is an adult that achieved success in being a hero but feels empty, so he goes through a mid-life crisis trying to figure shit out. But I feel the impact hits harder with Mob Psycho because it heavily focuses more on his mental struggles and it's at a more critical point in his life whereas with Saitama it's all sort of wrapped up. There's not really any growth as a person, there isn't any urgency, he just wants to feel alive again and deal with the struggles that life gives him (not that it could give him any bc he's fuckin op). At least that's what I think. Also I'm not caught up on the manga for OPM so I could be missing out on some of his mental breakdowns and growth.
You know what I gotta agree with Connor here, One Punch Man is a lot of fun and season 2 was still pretty decent. I do think Mob Psycho 100 is better though.
Season 2 of one punch man is strange because whenever Saitama and Garou are in the same scene, it is always shown from Garou's perspective. So it comes off like Garou is the real main character of the series.
Other than that I think both shows are wonderful in their own right. If I had to give OPM the upper hand it would be that it had a better and more indulging start tham mp100 (whose start was very slow imo) and if the opposite i think mp100 just kinda shows you more about the values it tries to project than OPM, whose values can be difficult to pick up in midst of all the jokes and hilarity [which makes sense, ONE was serious with this one whereas OPM kinda started as a joke manga to improve his art skills] all in all, I praise ONE a lot for their writing.
the point they're trying to make is that you can honor the manga and have good animations to go along with it. It's the same creator, OPM Season 2 had no excuse to be bland compared to how Mob Psycho season 2 looked.
The Garou fight was great the story and feel was better than any fight in season 1. Also it’s not a gimmick, it’s a satire on shonen. It says a lot without being in your face or on the nose with it.
I agree. These 2 anime are my top 1 & 2 favorite shows. The only reason why opm cant compare to mp100 is the art and consistency with the stories. Mob psycho is direct to the manga with every single detail. The problem with opm from s1 to 2 is the difference from the manga and the fact that 1 n 2 is soo off from each season.
I think OPM has better characters and a better premise. MP100 has more consistent plotting, but that's likely because it isn't constantly trying to set up a punchline.
i love mob but i feel like the cast and world are way more interesting in OPM . Season 2 blew chunks but if u just read the OPM manga its pretty elite and has some reeeally freakin good panels. Much love to mob tho both are bangers
I haven't read or watched One Punch Man beyond its first season, and I while I do love and enjoy Mob- i personally hate it when someone bigs up something in order to put another thing down. Mob could be a great show, but that doesn't mean One Punch Man is worse or is not good because of that. They can both be great.
@@oblivion_4014 fr. At season 2 we bypassed the introduction to the world that we had to see in season 1 so we just watched as the characters did their own thing.
I read the Opm manga and even the one drawn by original author. I still enjoy to a certain degree of season 2. It's not the best adaptation but it's not as bad as some people let you believe.
The sequel seasons to OPM and Mob Psycho feel like exhibit A on how much an adaptation can make a story better or worse. It's not just that they took a manga story and animated it, but Mob Psycho in particular really did everything in its power to elevate most of its scenes with incredible animation, creative artistic choices, dynamic camera work etc. Basically every single aspect of the story is enhanced through that. Whereas OPM season 2 is so fucking flat. The entire thing feels like going through the motions, which is the anti-thesis of anything that makes OPM engaging (feeling like going through the motions, is the conflict of Saitama's character, for Haruhi's sake!) Granted, I'm not convinced OPM s2 had a great story to adapt, but a better adaptation would've certainly helped.

Exactly
thank you :D

Season 3 is coming this fall!

OPM is a lot deeper than what people think.
It has a lot of interesting philosophies in it.
Mob psycho has Reigen so that's good too
Having watched both series (up to season 2 for each) here's my opinion:
Better Characters: Mob Psycho 100 since the fist few episodes
Better Story: Mob Psycho 100 since the fist few episodes...again
Better Worldbuilding: One Punch Man since the fist few episodes
Better Fighting System: Mob Psycho 100 only after watching the second half of season 2
PS: Mob Psycho 100 is my top 2 and One Punch Man is my top 5 (I love them both
Mob Psycho has a better story and it's much deeper than OPM for sure
Honestly, even though season 2 was nothing compared to season 1, it still a good anime (season 2) in general
So even though season 2 doesn't live up to the expectation of the season 1, it doesn't mean it's bad
This isn't even a debate
Mob Psycho 100 is by a MILLION miles better than One Punch Man.
Agreed
Good luck even seeing Saitama in the background in the latest arc.
That's because Garou is the main character in this arc.
I have to agree with Connor on this one. I just really like the ironic tension and themes that go on in OPM. It is less about the plot - more about how they explore different dynamics we've seen a thousand times in a fun-spirited, sometimes emotional, sometimes humorous light.
Mob season 2 was so good, man.
*"It's your personal preference, you're entitled to your wrong opinion."*
Wow, that was so passive-aggressive to respect someone unique opinion LMAO
Yeah honestly mob psycho just feels like the better more complete package of content, the most important component of which being how it hits me in the feels just right on the regular.
I'm kinda starting to feel the format of content s1 of one punch man covered suited the series better (stories that could be told in 1-3 anime episodes of content) the more long story of the garou and monster association stuff feels kinda drawn out at the point the manga is now and how saitama is handled in terms of how to keep him out of fights for as long as possible is just kinda getting old it just doesn't feel as funny or possibly tense as I'd like to
Try the One Punch Man webcomic. Far faster paced, no manga filler, and far, far ahead of the manga. It's still continueing.
Conor, we have S3 of MOB....yeah
But I agree OPM S2 had something that would make story going on
You can't compare Mob Psycho and OPM, both series set out to do different things, and they both excel at those things, but they aren't directly comparable.
I haven't seen OPM (planning on it) but I love Mob Psycho!! Such great jokes and well written characters.

"They turn a gimmick into a lovable story, which I feel .. couldn't sustain itself" I agree.
Season 2 of one punch man is strange because whenever Saitama and Garou are in the same scene, it is always shown from Garou's perspective. So it comes off like Garou is the real main character of the series.
Sky is blue, grass is green, sun is bright, salt is salty and fairy tail does suck..
I'm waiting for a Tower of God review. The webtoon comic, not the anime.
I love it hence my name, but it gets kinda repetitive, still one of the best things I've ever read
Other than that I think both shows are wonderful in their own right. If I had to give OPM the upper hand it would be that it had a better and more indulging start tham mp100 (whose start was very slow imo) and if the opposite i think mp100 just kinda shows you more about the values it tries to project than OPM, whose values can be difficult to pick up in midst of all the jokes and hilarity [which makes sense, ONE was serious with this one whereas OPM kinda started as a joke manga to improve his art skills]
all in all, I praise ONE a lot for their writing.
Ok mob is better in terms of story, but the whole point of this talk was if one punch man story was good or not. Mob had nothing to do with it
the point they're trying to make is that you can honor the manga and have good animations to go along with it. It's the same creator, OPM Season 2 had no excuse to be bland compared to how Mob Psycho season 2 looked.
@@dethkid7 well madhouse doesn't like doing season 2 of shows so...

We have to agree on Connor on this one

The entire thing feels like going through the motions, which is the anti-thesis of anything that makes OPM engaging (feeling like going through the motions, is the conflict of Saitama's character, for Haruhi's sake!)
Granted, I'm not convinced OPM s2 had a great story to adapt, but a better adaptation would've certainly helped.
