One Item I omitted. TCGP has a $50 cap per transaction so effectively any sale of a product over $500 has no incremental fee. Thank you to our discord for pointing that out.

Also a CPA that collects pokemon! Spot on analysis. I've been collecting pokemon for over a decade now. Only card I have sold to date was a PSA 8 1st Edition Charizard. Lets just say that sale paid for the rest of my collecting :D

When people compare it to stocks it's not that they are the same its that it does better most of the time. So even if you sell at 80% you still did better. As for selling yeah only sell when it's hot and save some for later. The issue most have is how will I pay my bills if I dont sell. This is a investment game not a quick flip game. Let pokene sell millions in products only to make 250k too look run down.

Good video. Kind of surprised you didn't bring up long term vs short term capital gains tax when selling collectible products. Might as well have it sit around for at least a year to get the better tax rates.

I didnt feel the need because if you are cash basis as an individual (almost everyone is) you can offset your purchases against your sales so you should never have a tax liability until you liquidate your collection and stop buying.

When you buy a house, a realtor will include your stocks and mutual funds as part of your assets, but not your expensive pokemon cards.

Selling winners and keeping losers is the worst idea. You give an example of selling es at $400 but imagine holding losers like da, vv, battle styles… yikes

Wait the dude that sold product $35 under market to pay $35 over market for other investment is still around making videos? Take your CPA out of Pokemon. You failed admit to it and keep it moving.
