I looked forward, everyday, to play this game. It was seriously ahead of it's time for sure. They delivered something that many games today seem to fail at. No game will ever feel the way socom felt. If you weren't around to play this game or if you were playing online and didnt touch this game, damn you truly missed out on this experience. I really wish I could go back and play it all again. My old ass needs to feel like a kid again playing my favorite game of all time. Lol #BringSocomBack

The best game I've played. Ignoring nostalgia, this had a fantastic concept of stealth and tactics. There have been numerous times where I've come out the victor from discussing tactics with team mates and have even evaded death and thus successfully ambushed the enemy with how this game's stealth and camo worked. SOCOM 3 was a great sequel with the customization of guns and the addition of some other new features. I would go back to this game in a heartbeat, and ignore BF3 forever, if I could.

Hhnnnggg PCSX2 is probably as close as we'll ever get to that. It does run super smooth on that emulator. Way better than the PS2 (which honestly hurt my eyes after a bit lol) and my gaming laptop is 7 years old.

@@jerrytravone On PS2, it's HELLA easy. On PC via the PCSX2 emulator, it's a bit of a process, but if you're savvy with computers, it shouldn't take more than an hour to set up. There is a step by step tutorial for each method.
Best times with this game, with online play I had two ps2 goin at the same time. We would play for HOURS. 😢 never forget and miss those days but better days are ahead.
Socom 3 is by far the best in my personal opinion, if Combined Assault didnt get super PC then it would have been my fav but NOOOO we gotta go and ruin it with the PC police, though it is quite fun and enjoyable still.
Its been times where my ps2 headset broke but the ear and mouth piece was still intact and working. I used a necktie just to hold it in place to communicate for this game...good times

Man... all they had to do was remake this game with better hit detection, physics, graphics, do a bit of re-balancing (grenade spam, M14s), a few new maps and weapons, and you have a hit fucking game that we'd all be playing on our PS4s right now like we was with the PS2 back in the day. As much as I was excited for h-hour, having played it for a little while it is not at all on par with Socom 2 and has even worse physics and hit detection somehow, and the graphics are underwhelming. When i hear this I think about the times i lost due to the unexpected perfection of an online experience based on teamwork, adrenaline, and funny glitches. It was the known yet unknown that was hilarious. Claymore mines near the bathroom doors on Blizzard. Quick, where's the sniper? 30 seconds left to plant. But they killed it, and thankfully so, because I couldn't change myself to stop playing until they changed the game. Thankfully so. Shout outs to all my Socom heads that grew up.
Im not kidding but if i ever get sick and know that im about to die if i hear this song no matter how much pain im through it'll put a smile on my face. This game represents way too much for me, it was my only way of escape when i was the loneliest in my life.
Socom 2 remastered with a couple new maps that are small and extremely tactical might not sell as many copies as COD upfront but willing to bet it would overtime... This music brings back some crazy memories of clan wars and rivals that were so amazing. You had pistols only crews, the snipers rooms in East 1 that were knarly... and all out tac adult guys that thought they could do it all until they came in the door. Damn man... hope the get it right this time... probably zippers last shot
i felt that socom3 was a little too different than 2. it was less intimate, but still far superior to any game today. and what you say about tactics is dead on. COD is just run and gun, socom was tactics. my clan rarely lost at requiem as terrorists (and we did not camp the bomb, we planted it!) because we had 3 plans, we were tactical. same goes for nightstalker terrorists 2v2, we had a plan, we executed it and won 99%. my face would light up when the other clan chose nightstalker SEALS

Socom 1 and 2 were the good old days. So many memories and clan matches via gamebattles was awesome.

Im not kidding but if i ever get sick and know that im about to die if i hear this song no matter how much pain im through it'll put a smile on my face. This game represents way too much for me, it was my only way of escape when i was the loneliest in my life.

Socom 2 remastered with a couple new maps that are small and extremely tactical might not sell as many copies as COD upfront but willing to bet it would overtime... This music brings back some crazy memories of clan wars and rivals that were so amazing. You had pistols only crews, the snipers rooms in East 1 that were knarly... and all out tac adult guys that thought they could do it all until they came in the door. Damn man... hope the get it right this time... probably zippers last shot

i felt that socom3 was a little too different than 2. it was less intimate, but still far superior to any game today. and what you say about tactics is dead on. COD is just run and gun, socom was tactics. my clan rarely lost at requiem as terrorists (and we did not camp the bomb, we planted it!) because we had 3 plans, we were tactical. same goes for nightstalker terrorists 2v2, we had a plan, we executed it and won 99%. my face would light up when the other clan chose nightstalker SEALS
Oh man, totally having memories flooding back, too. Well come to think of it, SOCOM 2 and 3 did have very different feels. If only game companies can infuse the best qualities of both with modern engines and the like.

This just doesn’t hit the feels like SOCOM 3s theme. Maybe because I only played 3 and combined assault. But I love the franchise on PS2

Never had the chance to play multiplayer because back in the day the internet was expensive. Besides I really enjoyed playing the single player instead.
