When this came out, I was around George's age and I always thought the part with Reggie was boring. Now I'm seeing how pertinent that part of the story it is. The little sister who wasn't close, losing her sibling. I also see how this show dealt with the very serious topic of losing a family member with a lightness and humour.
At 6:26 at the dinner table there is a pair of glasses just floating in the air. I never noticed this in my first time I watch this series now I’m gonna be watching for other telltale signs of ghosts or spirits or whatever the hell you wanna call it. Just liking predator the first movieit was very cool when you realize that you’ve been seeing the predator a number of times, but you just didn’t realize it and when you go back and watch the movie again looking for those telltale signs you see him much earlier on in the movie very cool.
I was wondering how the Gream Reapers do their job without people and/or authorities being suspicious, here's some thoughts; they can teleport to specific places (steeple), have an aura of imperception (no one sees Roxy pull invisible lady from under piano or G.R. group on steeple), they have no DNA or fingerprints. That's all, off the top of my head. ;-) I recognize Cynthia Stevenson from a different show or movie, but I can't from where?
it's strange looking back, Muth is a year older than me, and back in 2003 it was definitely time for me and her and everyone else our age to be finding work in the real world. So it fits completely, but also, for me now she /looks/ 10 years old and should be in junior high. I think that was confusing for me back then in/around 2003, based on the marketing this show seemed "like a teenager show for edgy goth preteens maybe?"
I was far too young to watch this show when it first came out, but I did anyways. Always gonna suck we never got a proper ending, but not quite as sucky as the movie we did get.
Probably ranks up near the top in dumbest things I've ever heard. Though I worked with a guy about 10 years ago who said his mom didn't like it. Of course, she's not required to like it.
It just had to be a little innocent girl that had to die. Throw in an old song and you got the formula to make an old great grandpa get leaky eyes. At 74 I must be mellowing out in my old age.
wow havnt cried that much in a long time. Watched this years and years ago and totally forgot about it. I still love the idea that we are all really grime reapers. After all everyone we will interact with will one day die. And for this episode in particular I love how it reminds us that it is so easy to want to give everything to make a kids life better. And remembering that is important because it inspires the idea of doing the same for everyone. We are all eachothers grim reapers.
Unfortunately I don't have that one. That was the movie that was made after the TV show was cancelled. I have the box set of the entire series, so that is what I uploaded.
Oh Wow i had TOTALLY forgotten about Rebecca Gayheart, she was really up and coming for a moment. then from what i remember she killed somebody in a hit and run accident or something like that, and i haven't heard anything about her since.
"moist" haha, I've never seen this before but got some time to kill nice to know it was shit everywhere no matter where you were trying to get a job in this corporate world.
It is interesting how a tv show or movie can have an influence on a person. Really liked the diner scenes. There was an episode called “A Cook”, season 1 episode 8, where the hash slinger (cook) was making omelettes on the flat top griddle. He made his omelettes by ladling the eggs onto the griddle and then “tri-folding” them. I thought that was coolest way to fold an omelette and have been doing it ever since for over 20 years.
And her first death is on a Canada Via Rail train no less, and given that Via Rail only had one violent incident in its history so far, she must be getting onto the Via Rail Super Continental train from Vancouver to Montreal, on February 7th or 8th, 1986 - that ended in a collision with a CN freight train near Hinton, AB. that resulted in the very violent deaths of 23 people!
This was one of the well done tv shows back then. Dead Like Me was a favorite. Also Six Feet Under. Never thought about it. There were a lot of grimm themed shows back then. Also Grimm. I could enjoy watching this series again. All in for George, toilet seat girl.
1:04:00 Problem Rail car disconnects. Breaks the pressure line, applies the brakes. This is correctly shown But why can the "main" train proceed at full speed (it should also break, as its brake line has been severed too) handle the turn, but the wagon does not...
I loved this TV show. But when it stopped far too soon, I bought the box and watching it in English I realized how bad sync to German was. With that young girl VOICE such a lost of deep voice GEORGE, where the male nick name finally made sense. Maybe internationally they made that mistake.
I really enjoyed this show and was disappointed when it got cancelled. There was a film (without Mandy Patinkin) that tied up the loose ends, but I have yet to see it.
I found the series a few episodes in and picked the basics of the story, but had never seen the first episode. Thank you for posting it. Muth's characterization activated my inner caretaker.
I loved this show. I'm in my sixties now so was in my fourties then, and I thought it was such a breath of fresh air. Thanks so much for posting, make an old fella happy.
Thanks for dating this for me. Some time ago in the last decade I ran across this. This crew of actors was great. In the later episodes it lost some traction. But it was hilarious when the new boss who gave them the assignments had a mutiny. His body was mistreated so many times & ways that if he wasn't dead, he certainly would be.
The thing that stood out to me besides loving the story, is the music. I LOVE the music. Especially the closing theme. This pilot did not have it. Boom Boom Ba!!
I fell madly in love with this show and look forward to every episode with breathless anticipation. After the second season, I saw an ad for a show with Mandy Patinkin and realized that dead like me was not coming back. I purchased the two seasons on DVD. I love that show to this day. One of the greatest shows ever written.
Mandy Patinkin is like series killer. He was on Chicago Hope, too, I think best MD series before House and they stopped that series, too. I am glad criminal minds got a new start and even better with less male dominance.
43:15 reminds me of “are you observing or are you participating?” Well played Bryan Fuller, well played 😂😂

This is a great series. If you've never seen it, I'd recommend it. The comeback they did was absolutely no good though.
Should have run for many years!

It was her alive little sister. Just invisible.
Always enjoyed the show , well written
Yep maybe we all should be thinking of filing?!?!!
An hour on RUclips and no ads. Bit weird!!
49:29 dirt third-world-youth-hostel-style charm 😂 it is a german-is word, so great.
Easily one of my favorite TV shows. Mandy Patinkin always brilliannt.
Thank you so much! This was my comfort show after I lost my son. 💚❤️🩹💚
76 yo and totally agree!!
I was horribly ill and stumbled on this at the onset of my home recovery... yikes

It's a shame they didn't ahve a season 3, the last line was literally "when you're dead like me..." and then Season 2 ended.
I was far too young to watch this show when it first came out, but I did anyways. Always gonna suck we never got a proper ending, but not quite as sucky as the movie we did get.
Much good. I didn't understand all the dialogues cause I'm French, but I smelt the spirit..
This is the only episode that does not have closed caption. All of the other episodes will have close caption.
@@wynduu2 Yes i'v seen, thanks that an awesome series
What a great show. I may be like a lot of guys, thing "If Georgia met me, maybe I could have helped."
I don't think you would want to meet Georgia, she will find you herself when the time is right. lol
Thanks heaps
Made in Vancouver. When in Vancouver, I went looking for toilet girl's accident scene.
I remembered this show it was so good
I think the great film RIPD with Ryan Reynolds based on the idea of this series like changing appearance.
360P?
Yup I really enjoyed this show
I can't watch another episode.
My chest hurts.
Im an old lady.

A very clever and well written program with a very appealing lead actress.
oh this is the on the fly dialogue new shows are missing.
from the jump its an expository. not some cheap schmuck with sound effects.
Actually, it was TOAD who was the asshole -- for letting frog hold the jar.
11:45 was he supposed to be a potential love interest or was this just a passing encounter?
6:00 My mom has a casserole dish exactly like that one, right down to the design on its side.
were to get it on dvd ?
Yes, it is available on DVD.
I saw this on TV when it first aired and became an instant fan. I thought it was very well done and was disappointed that it didn't last longer.
It just had to be a little innocent girl that had to die. Throw in an old song and you got the formula to make an old great grandpa get leaky eyes. At 74 I must be mellowing out in my old age.
I just saw David James Lewis in the Grumpy Cat Christmas movie
I'm STILL waiting for the next series :)

This show is amazingly heavy. And the music is mwah like a dream of a soundtrack.
ellen is a very sweet person
Loved this show, pity it wrnt away
Damn that train scene with the little girl really kicks you right in the feelings don't it 😢
Gloria Estefan? that her in this!
so is it an edgy west-coast Touched By an Angel....?
Do you happen to have the follow up one off Dead Like Me: Life After Death?
Unfortunately I don't have that one. That was the movie that was made after the TV show was cancelled.
I have the box set of the entire series, so that is what I uploaded.
Such a brilliant series.
I'm glad Mandy Patinkin ditched the folksy accent after his first scene in this.
One of the best written and acted series of all time.
Oh Wow i had TOTALLY forgotten about Rebecca Gayheart, she was really up and coming for a moment. then from what i remember she killed somebody in a hit and run accident or something like that, and i haven't heard anything about her since.
Love the whole Fullerverse!

I grew up familiar with Doris Day's QUE SERA, but this version is sooo much more powerful - and I think that's Carly Simon singing.
I liked it so much. I bought the DVD set.
This is a lovely odd show.
I have since some horrific things 😢 but this cats resilience and ability to find joy again is amazing ❤
Used to watch this show, loved it, wish there was a sequel!😢😢😢

I love that George Glass was the name of Jan Brady's imaginary boyfriend
Oh, this one is nice!
I remember watching Dead Like Me years ago; it was a fantastic, thought provoking show-- it ended to soon; Ellen Muth gave a fantastic performance.
I really love the movie they made. The lead actress was grown-up, so it must have been years after this. She looks SO young here!. ❤
We named our son loosely from Rube (Reuben)
The dinner scene makes me wonder what happened at school.
Still, one of my favorite shows. Watching it became a weekly ritual when it first came out.
Lovely to see Vancouver as the location.
Love that show!
I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED AT ALL NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY I WAS VERY PLEASED ALTHOUGH I WOULD LIKE HER TO GIVE A TOSS
Excellent show😊
I loved this girl!!
I was just thinking about this series. I have watched it twice already and like a good book it is worth watching again, Thanks for uploading it.
right?
Wish it was in 1080P!😢

What's your other 4 top shows?
Agreed, I bloody love this show.

I second you/THAT . I’m 57 and the relationships , carters and content is like nothing I have ever experienced. 🎉
