04:59 YES!! DEFINITELY NEED THE TUTORIAL ON HOW YOU GO THROUGH AND HIGHLIGHT KEYWORDS AND PHRASES TO SHOW THE ARTIST WHERE TO SET THE HARMONIES!! I THINK IT WILL HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE.
"From sound like this": sounds amazing yet "To sound like this": oh... This is Gold content. Definitely make a video about the thing you mentioned at 5:00
Hey Austin! Think you could do a video on how to mix vocals for a duet? Specifically with male & female vocals. I’m working on a project now with a female artist and I’d love to see if you have any tips. Thank you!
been waiting for a video like this one for a while...really great to see the breakdown...very inspiring and gives some great tools for future productions!!!
This is a masterclass in vocal layering, production tricks and so on. But I found at the end that I preferred the single vocal - even though it has clearly been autotuned, it still has some emotion to it, which is pretty much buried when all of the other layers have been added. But many thanks for the video.
Austin, would you do a video that shows how you learn and/or figure out these techniques as well? You seem to be right on top of current trends, and I would love to see your personal process of learning, and developing.
This is awesome. It's easy to gather a lot of information on how to do things without much on when you might want to. This filled in a lot of gaps for me.
Extremely helpful thanks! I would love the breakdown of the instrumental. And especially the instrumental elements and how you mixed it. I have hard time comming up or getting sounds and presets to use so maybe if you can throw a couple tips there too. If you are down to do that you could do a multi part break down since there's a lot to talk about. Thanks a lot!
Hey! Thanks so much for your content! Maybe you can make a video about mixing and producing some synths with heavy guitars, something like modern electro-rock? Again Thanks so much for your videos!
Good video. Was wondering how many times you get vocals that are very pitchy and sloppy. To what degree can you fix those and what tools do you use for it?
I can fix tuning and timing to a certain extent, but I can’t fix tone and a poor performance. I like to just use editing as a last 5-10% fix. Sometimes I hear people that need 60-70% fixed and I generally pass on working with them until they’re ready to record.
@@MakePopMusic Thx, these day's you hear a lot that poor performance and pitchiness are no issues anymore, because the procducer can correct this in the studio with software (like Melodine), and I've seen amateur producer claim on youtube that they can fix a lot of these vocal issues with poor preformance. So was wondering if what kind of degree these modifications are really used on vocals in professional studio's. But reading your comment it has limits. Is there a video that you created that goes in on this topic?
Quick question I've notice that on a aux vocal send track the meter volume and peak indicater changes For example I will record in at about 10 db and rout 2 or more tracks to a aux send know in my mind I thought I would expect to see the aux send hitting at the same level 10 db but this is not always the case So I guess my question is at what level should a vocal bus volume indicater be at before processing with plugins such as dynamics
Quick question I notice that mix engineers sometimes or most often rout the lead vocal to a stereo aux track why do they do this what would be some of the reasons for this could you please explain
Fun fact it, actually doesn’t matter if the vocal is in tune when it’s a side chain for a vocoder since it only uses the frequency content to filter a synthesizer which has its own tuning
Yep! I meant for if you're going to have the dry signal added in (which didn't matter for this instance), but it can be clutch if you're using the vocoder as a texture on top of the organic vocal!
Does the singer sing the left and right doubles AFTER you have comped together the final lead vocal? And because the doubles are called COMP are they also comped from several takes?
I would record them all at the same time and then comp them how you need. MOST of the time in tracking someone, we do longer takes and don’t do much comping, but I am tuning and time aligning as we go. So when we lay down layers, they’re tracking over an edited lead already.

Wow! That's a huge difference! (Def. using it in my next song!) ;) 🤘❤🤘
Love you man!
TOP VÍDEO TIPS. Thanks a lot! 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome!
Great tips!
Quite simplistic genre, really heavy on kick\bass and vocal reverbs\harm+unison. Synths are simplistic as well. Sounds good, catchy and loud.
Not the most complex. There's like 85 tracks in this song though. Haha
The section we used in the video is just a dropped out chorus towards the end of the song.
Cant belive you watched 25min vid in 5min lol
Nice video, thank you! Have you tried Ovox waves ? Do you think that vocal synth is better for vocoding effect ?
Uhh r amazing man ❤️🔥
Hey! Thanks so much for your content!

Again Thanks so much for your videos!
I am so amazed by Austin's videos! He is great and super talented! I am looking forward to more videos🙌🏻❤️ big up MakePopMusic

@@MakePopMusic Thanks for clarifying! Great stuff!
Can you show how you would mix to a mp3 instrumental
Personally I wouldn't so it would be hard for me to make a video on the subject.
Can you show where you pan all these vocals?
Check out our vocal arrangement tutorials! We dive into all of that in detail ❤️
ya
very fucking useful. so good
CAN YOU PLEASE LET US KNOW YOUR COMPUTERS SPECS???
MY CUBSASE JUST WON’T KEEP UP LIKE YOURS DOES.
👌🏻👌🏻
Doesn't using Autotune on duplicated channels cause any phasing issues?
Not when you tune it down, and then especially when you throw a doubler or Haas effect on it. :D
What is your favorite color?
