My most iconic MP5 moment would be the SAS storming the Iranian embassy in London (1980) to end the siege. Ballsy stuff.
I remember watching it on the news at the time and reading the book released soon after.
My admiration for the MP5 grew from then.

The most iconic MP5 moment that I remember is when the Predator blows off Dylans arm and the severed arm falls to the ground still firing Dylan's MP5. Brilliant effects.

The LDT MP5 is available with either nylon or metal gears from the factory, with metal gears being only $20-$30 more. Also heard that X-Force was considering or will be bringing in the metal upper version and skip the nylon altogether.
The inner barrel length is "short" because the blaster comes with an internal hopup (similar to HK416) that when inserted takes the length to the full length of the outer barrel.
Is it possible to remove the charging handle?

yeah, you're supposed to rotate the back of the lower receiver downwards (short cut tabs on the back) and then push the springs up with a thumb - then it comes out pretty nicely and easily
putting in back in you need to prerotate, assist the springs into the magwell area as you have done, then insert till then rear short tabs, then push up and in - definitely a different kind of blaster construction
Fun soon-to-be-coming MP5K variant facts (yes, a MP5k was officially announced, amongst other blasters):
*The gas tube can be (one day) be replaced with the much shorter MP5k gas tube. There's a screw under the gas tube just above the front where the outer barrel interfaces which can be unscrewed off - A theoretical conversion kit would replace 4 major components:
1. Shortened gas tube/charging handle area.
2. Shortened outer barrel.
3. Shortened inner barrel
4. A vertical foregrip where the battery will be housed in.
Viola, MP5K build, here we come!
*There is a front wiring port just on the 11o'clock position (barrel facing towards)
*There is a cut out tab in the metal rear block where you'll be able to wire your battery run forward to the foregrip,
*The forward wiring run then runs along the right-lower hollow area, just below where the retracting stock rail would be. (The retracting/sliding stock is available on aliexpress for $50)
*The forward/internal metal block which holds the T-piece/barrel assembly is interestingly sized for an airsoft hopup system (also has cutout gap for forward wiring)
Recieved mine with metal gears, stick mag and a hopup (which should explain to you why the inner barrel is shorter and doesn't go all the way - the hopup is then flush with the end of the muzzle when pushed fully in.

Out of interest why would you convert this to K variant when there is an MP5K coming? Also I’m pretty sure you can fit a small rectangular 11.1v battery in the handguard after changing the wiring route.
@@patrickmacfarlane3746 well, not everyone wants to or has the luxury of shelling out money for a whole other blaster for what some could say what is essentially the *same* gun (i say this very loosely btw)
If a conversion kit with the 4 parts or the parts themselves individually were available as spares/replacements, im sure there would be consumers out there who would be interested in doing such a conversion/build, all without having to go out and buy a whole new gun.
The official LDT parts to convert to the SD variant are already available to purchase on sites like Aliexpress. Its not like they'll release an SD om its own. Also the stocks and handguards are all out too. Checkout the LDT MP5 release poster with all the accessories. It could very well be a similar process to convert to a K. Can't see why one couldn't/shouldn't.
SaibaKeiosu yeah that’s fair enough I guess, don’t MP5Ks have a different length receiver though? The differences would be too much to satisfy me but then I make my builds look as close to the real thing as is possible with blasters.

I've had to screw the bolt back ito the blow back piston 2 now, after pulling and reseating the spring for it too.
Drum mags are a lot of trouble, had to repair drums 4 times and lost 1 entirely due to jams and gear stripping or gear comign off motor spindle.
interesting about the motor being set wrong, Once my primar is back I"ll have my shop take a look.
But god help me if I dont love this blaster
Just lock tite it in mines done it twice aswell and retaining bolt aswell it vibrates alot for a blaster cuz it's so solid is my assumption I love it tho haven't upgraded yet and I haven't had trouble with the drum magazine but I only use the ldt gels
Apparently the stick mags were faulty
The drum mags are the ugliest out of all blasters. Even the JM MP5 drum is prettier. Really brings the blaster down.
The new/fixed (supposedly) strick mags are now available from various suppliers. Reviewers say they are now ok. I have ordered a few and will see if they are any good.
@@congaliotos1327 I have 4 of the updated stick mags, they never miss a beat. I have them taped end to end for faster reloads.

Awesome. Been waiting on some mp5 vids! Yep, those WI gearboxes just suck.
Sent mine back twice... first time the mag well connectors weren’t fully soldered so would only shoot upside down. Second time was because the motor would heat up after 2mins and really heat up after 3-4mins. Apparently it was irreparable so got a refund.
Very disappointed as have heard such good things about LDT. Will still buy another at the next sale given I spent $180 on MP5 accessories 🤦🏼♂️

If anyone's looking for good blaster lube, go to a hobby shop and ask for the silicone oil they use in their R.C Car shock absorbers.
It's pure silicone oil so it won't erode the rubber seals in your blaster. Costs about $6 for 300ml and is perfect viscosity. 300ml might not sound like much, but it's heaps for this purpose. A little bit goes a long way.
I've been using it in my airsoft guns for years with no problems and they cop a lot more punishment than my blasters do.
I use this silicone oil with LPG to make green gas. I couldn't find anyone in Australia who stocked green gas and it costs a fortune to import.
Don't use any old silicone oil/spray though, nearly all the brands that are stocked in Australia are made from petroleum and any petroleum based products will erode rubber and fuck your gun. Has to be pure silicone oil.
It has 2 type of gearbox...nylon and metal..i buy the metal gearbox...😁

Hi did you notice that the spring for the slide pops off its seat when firing the mp5 you can see it thru the ejection port.
I'm having trouble trying to keep it from popping off its seat
I bought the metal gear version and installed a 1100 spring. I was told that will at least up me till 300 FPS.
Any idea what upgrade will let me hit the magic 330-350 FPS mark?

Hi there. I've just bought the LTD MP5 and want to do the best upgrades I can for it plus I don't like the trigger sensitivity is there a up grade for the trigger also.. what upgrades would you suggest I do.?

I've had the LDT MP5 for around 1 month and i had to fix some of it's issues while upgrading the heck out of it. Currently I'm running the FB split version 4 gearbox ( it fits with a few modification to the MP5 body) without the mag terminal block. There are 3 main issues i found, 1st is the mag terminals, 2nd is the selector and 3rd is the charging handle. The charging handle can not and will not handle HK slaps, they are made of plastic and it will weaken as you keep slapping it. the selector on the left side is held on by a grub screw that screws into nylon. After taking the blaster apart a few times, the thread strips and the selector became limp on mine and there's really no way to fix it except for buying a metal selector. The Mag terminals are the worst thing on this blaster. You can't remove the dummy bolt from the gearbox while it's inside of the blaster and there's too little space for them to fit through as the upper is slid off. Disregarding all the issues, I think the LDT MP5 is a great blaster for the money mainly because the issues are not without a cure and this blaster can be used with the LDX gearbox.
Even the metal gear pinion worn out after I use 1.3 spring.. The metal gear set is an ordinary material, not up to the task.
The T-piece looks identical to the LDT HK-416, are they, will it fit in the MP5?

I like the look of this one . I didn’t think I would ,usually a m4 type . I’ve heard they are easily fixable .Lots of space for battery and clean simple surfaces .✌️✌🏾✌🏻❤️🇦🇺❤️

finally i bought my LDT MP5 v3.0 after watching this video. To my surprise, now it come with pinion metal gear, full metal gear in the gearbox & nylon piston with metal ladder. it was shim out of the box & come with orange nylon muzzle. thank you Low Guido's chop shop for this good review.
yeah there have been versions that come with metal gears. its good that manufacturers are finally doing this.
Say you had to replace the nylon internals much like you did here, what is the cost in parts of such a upgrade? I'm considering getting mine upgraded but I'm unsure at how much I should be putting aside for it. Also if possible I was curious with the G36K you had done a previous video what would be the damage to the wallet to get that to a respectable 11v running condition?
(edit) One last thing.... How do I stop the mp5 from shaking it's mags to death? So far it holds a kill count of 4 drum mags. The motor loses that little screw to work the feeder and you can hear it rattle around. I already pulled one aprt to check what it was, fixed it only to have it happen again 2 days later. I love the blaster but I can't justify that kind of expense if it's going to be the norm.
maybe $50 all up? it really depends on if you just want to put some metal gears in, or if you want to go all out.

Yeah they fall out of the barrel.. it also shoots 2 gels alot of the time.
Compressing the piston air when the hand is blocking the nozzle is not fair, why not try using the tappet plate to hold the nozzle and compress the piston?
That would not give a true representation of the O ring cylinder seal because you introduce losses of the nozzle.
Your motor pinion was nylon, but my MP5 is metal pinion, same from LDT, could it be different version..?

Thank you so much for doing this video. I have just started my journey in the gel blasting world, and this is now my first blaster. Sadly the big grey screw on my gun keeps becoming loose. I screw it on again and after a few shots it drops inside the butt stock 😭 its the screw in minute 22:15 for your reference. Do you think you could give me a suggestion to fix this issue?
you should buy yourself a new spring retainer. the standard one is plastic and the screws strip out and pull through. if you buy a metal one then the screw threads into a threaded metal hole and will not pull through as easily.

It does - the earliest shipments came with nylon gears and a drum mag. The latest shipments are metal gears and a stick mag. (Which is what i received)
The one he's reviewing must be from the earlier shipment.
I also received the metal gear version. Used it in a skirmish for nearly 5 hours (5 games). And it performed marvelous, and had no problem except that on the very last moment, my gel balls wouldn’t feed up, because some broken balls obstruction in the mag.
