  • In the fifth episode of our 16-day adventure we leave Maun early and head north for our next campsite, Swamp Stop Okavango River Camp. Once settled in we enjoy the evening after a long day on the road.
We drive north on the A35 which is not so bad as everyone says. Once again, we make a pit stop next to the road and grab something to eat.
Join us for the fifth episode of our 16-day adventure that took us to 5 countries, through 16 border control offices and where we did a total of 6500 kilometers.

Dumelang.. those roads are bad.....but they always say there is budget for them but they don't commence the construction at once,i wonder why.

@MoemediKolagano i hear you. I, for one, am a glass half full kind of person. We drove that road for the first time in December 2018 and yes, then it was real bad. Since then a lot has been done on the A35. Compared to the rest of the roads we had the privilage of driving on in Botswana, this is probably not as good. The same goes for the Nata road, which is also much better than what it was in 2018. I guess my point is that the road is not as bad as it was before and there are something being done to get the road the same as all the rest, it just takes a bit longer than what we would like. Then again, it is Africa and Africa has a lot of chalenges as we all know so well. My concern with some comments regarding that road is that it sometimes are so off-putting that visitors tend to skipp that side of a beautifull country because of someone elses perseption. There are a lot of lodges and awesome campsites on that road that will be missed if we, the visitors, do not travel that road because of an opinion of someone we don't know. Besides that a visit to one of the 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Tsholdilo Hills, will not be visited. I prefer to mention that the road is at some places still under construction but it is totaly doable and i would recommend that road with all the hidden gems along that road any day to anyone.
