Without spoiling too much, I’ll just say Jin is actually a pretty sad character, he’s kinda believed that for the world, he and his family would be better off dead since Tekken 5 and 6.
In Tekken 7 there’s cutscenes where he basically doesn’t seem to mind dying, he’s kinda like “I probably deserve it” kinda thing
Keep in mind, Tekken 5 was released 20 years ago, Tekken 6 was released 15 years ago, so basically we’ve had either a depressed, miserable, borderline suicidal and/or villainous Jin for a very long time. He’s basically shown no sign of happiness… at all in games for the past 15 years.
Tekken 5 was probably the last game he showed any kind of kindness or happiness at all when he would at least be somewhat polite and care for Xiaoyu.
At least Kazuya would do an evil laugh or smirk at certain things lol Jin has been a depressing character for 15 years atp
So it was very exciting news for fans watching the trailers and realising maybe Jin is actually a somewhat normal kinda heroic protagonist for the first time in over two decades (Lars was main character of 6, Heihachi was main character of 7)
Will you also react to the character trailers seperately? :D also yes, every tekken character understands eachother, regardless of language. Even King who only communicates in growls

@@beatingstuff88 I don't know that the individual character trailers would be of any use to her since they're mostly about the gameplay. A compilation of rage arts or endings would be better.
Ps: characters understanding each other's languages has become a meme at this point 🤣
@@Cherry91 i mean to be honest the character trailers will show a lot more personality and fighting styles more than just the rage arts or endings, like i'd say they are way more "hype" inducing and may help pick a character better?
@@armorking2832that’s why many people like Tekken’s story more than Street Fighter’s (Not saying Street Fighter’s story is bad. It’s far from perfect but the story of street fighter is enjoyable)
Also we have raptors and kangaroos as fighters.
I feel like people forget they exist because Kuma and Panda overshadow them.
Tekken 8 in particular has a gameplay setting that simplifies combat to allow anyone to pull off combos for all characters. It does less damage, but it means everyone can do something more than just spamming punch or kick to win.
7:22 Part of Jin's story in 8 is a redemption arc for his actions in Tekken 6. Or the start of one anyway.
Thank god they actually made him a hero however I do think he needs to do more in the story so that he can be forgiven.
Would it be a bad idea if he sacrifices his soul so that way he can revive other people that he killed like Miguel’s sister from Tekken 6? I don’t why I said that but it feels like something Tekken would do.
The Tekken characters understanding each other in their native languages has always been that way. It's like the only game that does that and we're just used to it.
But yea, Jin pretty much returns as the hero in T8. The past games from T3-T5, he was the protagonist and the hero. Whereas in T6, he was turned into a villain, starting WW3 just so he can awaken this Egyptian creature. After playing through the T8 story, I can tell you it was really interesting in a way where Jin regrets his past actions and tries to stop his father, even getting help from his mother.
But ofc, I would spoil anything and I can't wait to see ur reaction to the story and all. Also since ur a newbie to Tekken, I prefer putting it at easy difficulty just so u don't have to struggle as hard. Normal isnt bad too but I would say easy just so that it's easier for u

The devil gene isn’t something that’s split, it’s just passed down genetically, so both Kazuya and Jin can be devils without it effecting the other. We also see Kazuya’s mother, Kazumi, in devil form and she looks completely different.
You're kinda on the right track and that's all I can say lol. I can't wait to watch your playthrough. And don't worry about not being good at the game. There's special mode so whenever you feel stuck you can turn it on. Just have fun. Hopefully that gets you invested enough to stick around for future installments 😀😊

Well, it may not be canon of the Tekken series, I don’t know, but with Street Fighter x Tekken, the Street Fighter cast and Tekken cast find out a box known as Pandora’s Box. It has mysteries of where when using its power, the user uses its power, as a result your partner’s power being taken. It corrupts minds and souls and all of that stuff. But if we’re explaining Tekken’s side for example of two main characters, Kazuya was planning to gain Pandora’s power to boost his Devil Gene’s power and wrest control of Mishima Zaibatsu from Jin. As for Jin, he thought the box would be connected to his Devil Gene as he would like to understand the Devil Gene. Pandora can basically influence its power like Ryu’s Satsui no Hado or Jin and Kazuya’s Devil Gene for example. Meanwhile both organizations like Shadaloo or Mishima Zaibatsu are after that box since what the power might possess.

I loved tekken 8 such a great game and its story was amazing

But
To sum up Jin
He wants to die
He wants to die cuz his dad is the devil. His grandpa try to kill him. His mom was kill. And he thinks himself as a monster cuz he has the devil gene and he is kazuya son
His pretty suicidal
And other then saving the world by starting a war in Tekken 6. He wants to die he doesn't care what happen to him
He just want his dad. His grandpa and himself to die cuz the world be better off without them
I don't blame on being bad at it. I've been playing since Tekken 1. And I'm STILL bad at it. Mainly cause X, O, □, and Trianlge each control a limb on the body. So be prepared to use Assist mode, it comes in handy with story mode. Also congrats on being a Mother, best of wishes!

The best way to think of the Devil Gene is that it’s a literal genetic that’s traces back to Kazuya’s mother - Kazumi. Both Kazuya and Jin have it due to their bloodline. The whole bit with Jin is him on his redemption arc from Tekken 6 where he essentially caused WWIII as a means to end the Devil Gene from Azazel (the main source of the Devil Gene aka “the Egyptian God”) Jin has always been against his father’s side of the family and has always wanted to end the Devil Gene bloodline.
Also, Heihachi (Kazuya’s father and Jin’s grandpapi) is actually dead. 😂 don’t worry about being bad at the game. Tekken 8 is VERY beginner friendly to the point where you can pretty much set the controls to automatic combos. If you’re one to enjoy the storyline and don’t want to get TOO invested in the combat system, you can do most of your playthrough with the automatic game mechanics. 😊
I really wish that I have the ability to understand every language like how these Tekken Characters understand each other since the beginning of time.
I should play Tekken 7 and then Tekken 8. U have no idea how amazing Tekken is
