  • This video of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was taken in the summer of 2018. It shows footage of the outside exterior the roof and spires the bells and the interior of the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral prior to the tragic fire. Interior video starts at about 6 minutes in. The back of the Notre Dame Cathedral is towards the end of the video. I hope you enjoy this inside view of one of the worlds great treasures from before the tragic Notre Dame Fire of 2019.

    From a friend of mine who used to commute back and forth to Paris from the US, he asked me to pass this along:
    “Please relay my thanks and gratitude to the Vagabond Gene for their Notre Dame pre fire video made in 2018. Having spent a decade commuting to Paris for work, and not having been there since '96, it made my week having seen their superlatively made HD video. • @Balnazzardi
      @Balnazzardi 5 лет назад +1

      @Linda Reid Well obviously they might use some different building materials for the roof, but Unesco said already that otherwise the roof will be built so that it looks the same (also those statues were removed from the roof before the whole renovation process started, so they were saved from the fire as well) Ofc its entirely another question whether or not they will build that central tower again and ofc the roof might look more "new" initially, but overall they will atleast try to mimic the original look. Ofc they would likely replace all that wood inside with something else and/or install proper sprinkler system like with most such buildings, but other than that you would still see from the outside mostly the same building atleast.
      Ofc nothing can replace some 850 year old wooden materials that were originally used, but lets be honest here, the main thing is that that the roof can be rebuild and that it didnt suffer worse damage than it did. And it could have been much worse.

    • @linlere514

    • @Balnazzardi
      @Balnazzardi 5 лет назад +2

      @@linlere514 well yes, I do understand that those 850 year old materials and handwork used in building the roof is forever gone....ofc that can only be copied, BUT the way I think The roof and that central Tower that collapsed (that was "only" some 200 years old btw it was added in 1840 or something like that) were the least valuable parts of the building.....
      I try to think positively That the interior of the cathedral remained largely undamaged and the walls, main towers and rose windows (atleast 2 of them?) Remained intact.
      So it could have Been much worse and Notre Dame didn't suffer any such damage that would have wrecked it beyond saving

      Everyone is motivated by our own distinct set of values.
      Then there are those who seek to impose their values onto others,
      instead of maintaining respect for each other.
      Understanding 'evil': it is something done in an effort toward good,
      except that only a limited set of people are considered in such action.
      Either only one's self, or a limited set of people that one cares about,
      to the exclusion of others. But from that person's perspective, they
      feel that they are doing good.

    the best scene from this video of Notre Dame cathedral is seeing the roof what it looked like before the fire started which i think is still a mystery at the moment and seeing the spire as it was and with the 200 tons of scaffolding now removed the rebuild continues. with the work that is still going on working which stones go where it is like a giant jigsaw puzzle always start with the corners first then work you way in if you know what I mean.

    I was wondering if it was okay to use this in one of my videos if I edit it (cut it and add music), I won't use it if it isn't okay.

      You can use some of the footage as long as you just use part of the footage and not the whole video. Also if you would please put a link back to this video and subscribe to the channel I would appreciate it. Thanks
