The 1S is crazy quiet! I'm actually thinking about trying my old favorite 2.5" Avan Rush props on here, they are the quietest 2S setup I've ever built.
It's one of my favorites and usually quiet in the mornings. Lots of opportunities for big moves and small proximity stuff, which I think helps a spot stay interesting :-)
What size rubber bands are those, and where did you get them? I can never find any that are "just right" for this kind of thing, and those look perfect.
I wish I could be more helpful but unfortunately these are just from a box of assorted sizes that we have at work. Maybe office supplies are something to look into?
This is good advice and I'm tempted to build the same. The one thing i dislike is very wide angle camera. It deforms everyting, especially perspective. Otherwise, do you still enjoy it and did you change your setup preferences please ?
I still enjoy this setup, I have enjoyed flying effectively the same setup using Emax Avan 2.5" props too. It is still my favorite analog setup but I rarely fly analog now. This is the kind of drone I am missing most with the heavy vista, I'm still trying to figure out a digital alternative to it.
Thank you! The cap was provided with the savage bee kit, I never actually checked the value before heat shrinking it. It's more about the 2S (and larger motors I guess) than the connector. On the V2 BBBL it is easier, and preferable, to solder it directly to the board, but I ran out of space under the canopy which is why I put it at the connector.
@@JasonSuterOssum thank you for the response! I got the Savagebee v1 2s with crossfire, and I switched it out with an xt30, but my savagebee didn’t come with a capacitor, is it necessary to add one? If I don’t would I pop/fry anything? I’m going to be running 2s 500-550mah batteries if that helps any.. Thanks!
@@gummyfpv6403 for 2S with Xt-30 you will have more current flow. So, voltage sags and noises will be higher. The goal is to reduce noise to the gyro. 200uf 25V is the NBD recommendation

@@gummyfpv6403 sure, that'll be fine. These are just acting as a "bucket of charge" to help smooth out spikes. Caps like this are often +/- 10-20% anyway, so a 200 and 220uf are practically the same in this application.
Thank you very much! I can't compare them directly, but although I had a really good experience with the Tiny Hawk Freestyle I got very frustrated with EMAX's weird shapes and sizes of all their components. NBD offers such great support and service too, which is a huge selling point.
Hi this video has got me seriously thinking about getting one of these, I looks like it flys like a 5", would you still say its a good little park flyer?
If you are flying analog then these quads are hard to beat, I'm a big fan of the roughly 80g 2s 3" setup. I've moved to DJI video which I love but honestly these little quads are the thing I miss and haven't found a digital replacement for. Opportunities to fly in a day go way up if you're flying a near-silent tiny safe drone (that is still an absolute blast to fly).
@@JasonSuterOssum Thanks for the quick reply, I still fly analogue (waiting for the HDZero goggles to come out) and having something this size makes for a small backpack and ninja sniping a few batteries in a spot. with this and the mobula7 1s i should be set for winter hopefully.
@@AlexWalpole absolutely! I love the compactness of a whoopµ setup. It's so much harder to look nonchalant when you stroll up to a spot with a handful of 5inchers 😁
I ran it for a long time without issues but did eventually blow an esc on a 2S HV xt30 battery. This was an early revision board though. I understand from NBD that the mosfets have been uprated and I will be putting the next board I receive through some thorough testing. Ill definitely report back!
Surprisingly I have never broken a goober canopy on a 2S toothpick/savage built, but I've broken a fair number on whoops. Probably because I'm way more likely to power upside down straight into concrete in a whoop :-/ For my real beater whoops (for IGOW and learning new tricks) I now put a blob of hotglue on either side at the thin part that usually breaks, before even flying it., and it has worked very well so far. The savage is such good fun, it definitely the most likely quad of mine to get flown on any given day. Big enough to handle a breeze, small enough to fly almost anywhere.
If you really want batteries and controller included you need a kit like this: newbeedrone.com/collections/bnf-kits-brushless-whoop/products/newbeedrone-acrobee-brushless-rtf-bundle-kit?aff=40 But most people who fly these drones already have controllers and battery preferences, we wouldn't want to be forced to buy them bundled together.

This thing is like a flying ninjastar. Super durable. Sept the canopy. Its shit. I have the 1s version and love it.
