- Kate explores the rough rock and incredible slabs at the Miners Coop during the 2024 Tucson Gem and Mineral show. The Miners Coop is unique, because the vendors either mine the material themselves, or they make things from the beautiful mined minerals and rocks! Along with the eye-dazzling splendor of amethyst and quartz crystals, Kate explores the beautiful world of fluorescent minerals. It's beyond words!

* WOW ~ Those rocks would have me broke in minutes!! Lovely!! ~ Happy Birthday!! ~
There were so many, it was tricky to decide what to buy!
This is a favorite show of mine. Right here near home too.
I really enjoyed it. I might just go back!
Happy Birthday ! Thanks for filming the Miners Co-op I go there every year .
It was one of my favorites!
Thanks Katy. Happy belated Birthday.
You had ne drooling Kate! Awesome rocks and fossils, thanks for sharing! Have a happy birthday! I'm exactly 8 years and 2 weeks older 😊
Gorgeous rocks. Thank you for taking us along. Great you ran into Dan Herd!! I love watching his videos. I love going along with you too. The Yellowstone river is my favorite with all the goodies you find.
It was such a surprise to run into him! The Yellowstone is my jam too. :)
Wow what an amazing place those all were! I can't wait to see what you come home with this time! And Happy Birthday Kate! And 60 is most definitely a big deal! I'm right behind you. I'm 58 and will be 59 this year! So it is a very big deal! I wasn't supposed to live to see my 50th birthday, but I'm too ornery to die! I refused to let myself go until I got out of where I was because I knew I wasn't going to wake up again, and I was so confused when I woke up 2 weeks later! And I'm sad till here! So you enjoy your , birthday and celebrate like there is no tomorrow because you just never know! Wonderful video!Thanks Kate;
Lisa, we are all VERY grateful that you are still here.
Beautiful rocks!!! Oohhh...ahhh!
:D
Happy Birthday Kate! 60’s are great! What a dream come true birthday trip! I’ll be 71 on the 9th and I still haven’t gotten used to the idea I’m 70, and it’s been a year already, LOL.
Ha, I get that! I really thought 60 was old when I was in my 20s - now you have to be 80-something to even qualify as "somewhat older." :D
Love the video. Thanks for sharing from a gem lover. Happy birthday 🎊 🥹🔱
You snuck in a live vid, just turned in to yt and there you are!I Love Arizona especially Sedona! Those red rocks are awesome.
A heated vacuum chamber is what I want. The heat thins out the resin even more. Opticon is my favorite stabilizer.
Thanks!
Happy Birthday
That was so funny, you walking off with the spray bottle. I thought "she's going to have to get one and tie it around her neck" those are like second nature for you to have in your hand. Loving the video... Thanks
Happy Birthday Kate, what a great way to spend your day. Thanks for the tour
Thanks so much! 😊
I just picked up some awesome stuff there a couple of days ago. Great people!
Yes they are!
Marvelous Marvelous Marvelous.
Just watched a show from TX with beautiful geodes. Have fun. 😊
I was there yesterday, and saw you filming.
Nice!
Great video!! LUV the Gem Show!
Thanks!
I love the florescent rocks!
Would love to see your purchases!
Nice
Thanks!
I hope you got some of the mescalaro jasper
How do you become a member of 'miners coop'? We rock hound for crystals and rocks, cut them, cab them and turn them into jewelry that I then sell. I love all the videos showing the whole Tucson gem and mineral show, but I prefer the venders you showed today. That first piece of Tiger eye you picked up was sooooo beautiful!!! It was all awesome. Those are the booths I want to buy from.
Hi! The Miners Co-op is a group of vendors, but they don't require people to join to make purchases - you can just go there and buy stuff. I agree, the vibe there is really different from some of the other places. Good stuff!
The tiger's eye is beautiful!
They are all beautiful. But Geesh on the prices. I would’ve been very disappointed had I been able to make it to this event. I’m sorry but the prices are insane. But definitely appreciate you posting the video. A Arizona rockhound I follow also posted a video at the Tucson gem show. Prices were insane in his video as well. Was hoping more Arizona rocks minerals would’ve been shown by the Arizona rockhound.
Oh how I wish I could be with you!
I wish I could be there 😔
Me too!

Terima kasih!
The chrysocola is so pretty!
It is!
Hi Jim!
*Jim waves*
You totally blew by the blue slabs around 5-6 minute mark were they turquoise or something else
Hi, Mark! Not turquoise - I think they were malachite.
The rock @2:04,.....if you slab cut and polished it it would look like cartoon characters.
You're right!

I can’t even handle the misinformation that occurred with the “yooperlites”
Those are 100% not authentic “yooperlites”
Those are Chinese rocks that share some fluorescent properties, but clearly lacking the distinctive characteristics of true yooperlites from the Great Lakes region.
Thanks for the info! Having never seen an actual Yooperlite, I took them at their word.
