Great video as always Keith! I was laughing at the 2 times I had to turn my head sideways to see the video. LOL. It only lasted for a few seconds anyway. One question (sorry, this may be a silly question on my part) does that particular motor have a lot of electrolysis for the many years that the gentleman had it and have you ever come across an outboard motor that you could not repair because there was too much electrolysis?
@@sherinewade Thanks Sherine! Yes I sometimes forget to flip the phone first before starting the video. That will not be a problem once I learn how to use the GoPro I got. Yes at times corrosion is so bad the major components need to be replaced. The reason for this is electrolysis. This happens when a boat is sitting in the water at a marina with an extension cord connected to an outlet on shore. The electrons flow through the boat to the water through the best conductor that is the motor. This causes corrosion. I should do a video explaining it better.
@OutboardDad LOL, it's okay. It adds a little "something" to the video. Oh, thank you so much. I did see that electrolysis is corrosion that happens to the motor. I think I may be thr only one to ask that, since I don't have a boat, LOL. Thank you for explaining 😁
@@DustinKeating-yk3vq Looked like mold to me, as soon as I put some scrubbing bubble on it and wiped it came right off. Have you seen motors that people are selling that have been in a fire?
