Hey Tony ~ Happy 4th! My Topaz DeNoise Ai has stopped working since the update, one model at a time. The message states that 'Windows' will notify me when a fix is available? Have you heard about this issue or fix? I have re-installed without improvement.

Anthony: I recently returned to using Topaz software. I had legacy programs dating back years! Topaz honored them all even though I was long past "upgrade" status on many of them. I didn't even ask, they just made the changes to my account. I wish all software companies were as wonderful to deal with. They are prompt, polite, and very welcoming to their 'family'. Exceptional service in every way. Their products are the same; exceptional.

I really really REALLY wish the split screen view in all the Topaz softwares would allow us to compare different models, not just a model to the original. But thank you for another informative video.

I renewed my subscription yesterday for Denoise AI and your discount code worked. As a company, I find Topaz easy and quick to deal with and they have a great with after sales issues. Thanks

Maybe you could help convince Topaz to make the "Apply" button activated by hitting Enter instead of having to mouse over and hit it. I have suggested this several times, as that is how the dialog box is supposed to work.

Thank you for another informative video of Topaz products. Whenever a new version comes out I always look for your video to ensure I don't miss a feature.
I use Denoise AI, Sharpen AI and Gigapixel AI (when required) consistently in my workflow. I am curious though about whether you have found Denoise AI necessary if you first process Fujifilm RAW images with DxO PureRaw 2. There seems to be a Denoise function built into that software, and it seems to do a pretty good job.

Hey Anthony! Love your Videos.. Question about Denoise. When I launch it from LR CC on Widoews it always Displays the Denoise Banner.. Is there a way to supress this? I have not been able to find a Option.

Can the discount code work for the annual update fee? I already have the whole suite but I opted to NOT pay for the update this year. However, I'd consider it if there is a discount

Hi Anthony, good video. I've only been using Topaz DeNoise AI for about a week now. I received the latest update a couple of days ago. The one thing I'm concerned about is the original RAW image being copied as a Tiff when going from Lightroom to DeNoise. So going back into Lightroom from DeNoise, will I then be working with a Tiff image for the rest of my processing? Thanks.

So they updated a version to update a model BUT when you select a model it downloads a newer version of the model… so why a new version?

Hi Anthony, great video as always, when I have been editing in Lightroom and want to send an image over to any of the AI package programs, it creates the copy image but does not open the program I’m requesting to edit in, any ideas? I’m using an M1 MBP with all the latest software installed. Thanks again🙌🏻

Hi, but the most important is how does it compare with dxo pureraw 2?

  • @Trigger-xw9gq

I guess this would be a good place to ask: I have Denoise ai 3.2.0, and after that version, I was required to pay again for updates, which I didn’t. (I am using it as a plug-in in CS6). Would you say that I would see a significant improvement in an update?

A bit disappointed I have to pay for the upgrade on this one from 3.6.2 to get the bug fixes...

Thank you for the info. If I may, which one do you prefer for your own work, Denoise or NoNoise?

One thing that I don't like about Topaz is that some of their AI tools in Denoise and Sharpen don't work with my graphics card. They revert back the CPU instead. My card is just a regular RTX 2070 nothing special, so it should be normally compatible since Nvidia's CUDA is actually preferred by Adobe and Skylum's stuff

Have you tried 'forcing' Windows to use your 2070? I found that it makes quite a difference.

🤔I assumed that the RAW option was the best choice for processing RAW files (?) thinking it was tweaked specifically for those type of files. If not... What is the reason for calling it "RAW" ? 📸

The RAW algorithm is very good when doing a noise reduction directly on an unedited raw file. In the case shown by Anthony in this video he did his demonstration on a tiff file (exported from Lightroom). As Anthony pointed out, Lightroom doesn’t allow you to send over a raw file to Topaz for editing. If you want to do a noise reduction directly on a raw file you need to open the file directly in the Topaz DeNoise stand-alone version (which is always included and installed along with the plug-in version anyway). It is still possible to use any of the other algorithms in Topaz, so you should try which one suites your image the best each time. Hope that helped to answer your question?

Hi Anthony! I find using the RAW option in Topaz Denoise AI crashes the programme, so I can't use that option! Any suggestions as to why? I have 32 GB of RAM, so it's not through lack of memory that it freezes and then crashes. Felix the Cat. 😾😾

Shame about the discount codes, I used them for the annual renewal.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the practice of using discount codes or coupons will be greatly reduced by many developers soon considering all the bogus discount sites that have popped up recently!

Anthony, I just updated Denoise. Everything was running fine but now when I use the plug-in in Lightroom classic to open an image in Denoise, it opens and my setup opens all four windows. As soon as it loads the images, it redraws the images all over again and moves them across the screen. I'm using iMac with a 5700 radian graphics card. ?..?

I recently had weird stuff happening in the NIK collection and I thought it was some kind of bug going on? Then I realized it was because I hade temporarily changed from my native 4K resolution to a lower resolution to be able to read the UI better in the NIK plug-ins. When I switched back to my native monitor resolution everything went back to normal again. Maybe something similar happened to you?

Dxo pureraw is still better. It's output is unbelievable and the dng format is priceless

I agree DXO PureRAW is very good. But I want to point out that it is possible to save the results in Topaz in the DNG file format as well.

Wow, IMO severe noise is pretty bad, it makes the image way too soft. That result for you son's face to me is totally unacceptable. I never use the defaults they ask for far too much NR. Standard can also do too much NR so I have to reduce it by a lot from the default. I find 6 times out of 10 low light is by far the best at preserving detail and reducing noise, clear is best 3 times out of 10 and standard 1 times out of 10. I have only used severe a few times to clean up a really noisy background and don't let it touch the subject. I've found RAW to also be useless. If Topaz can't do the job, I switch to DxO Deep Prime.
