I'm doing a 70 mile mtb ride next wknd. Raising money for cancer research, wish me luck 😆 Great vid as always, get a new gear cable fitted if you have continues problems with gear changes and also outer gear cable. Looking forward to the next vid 😎
@@themuddycyclist I'm doing a route called the ox drove. I can basically do a circular route but need to do it twice to make 70 miles. A couple of steep climbs but other than that not too bad. I will be feeling it afterwards and the next day & the next day 😆 Its not a race so I have all day to complete it. I have a few farms on route I can top up with fluid. Just need to carry enough food to keep me going. Bananas, nuts and pork pies.
I had a go on the Mate bike, I took it out on the road a little bit, a slight delay then off like a rocket, but above all that the cakes at beacon bikes are excellent.
I'm eagerly awaiting the "Best Gates of Sussex" video!
Congratulations on 1k, that's the cake stop sorted haha, living up to your name with all that mud, great vid
Many thanks, got there in the end!
Strava heatmap is your friend when putting together routes, keeps you away from the less well used tracks
Thanks, will try that.
Can’t believe you’re having trouble with the gears on the boardman again definitely a muddy cyclist day
😁, been a while, but think I’ve finally got them sorted since I made this video.

That’s fantastic, brilliant cause too. Where you doing your ride? Think Boardman finally sorted, go a professional to look at it.

Well best of luck. Think you will know about it after 70 miles on the bike!
The infamous muddy bridleway from Barcombe to Holmansbridge!
It really is horrible. But you should try it in Winter! 😬
Dread to think what it is like in the winter if that is what it looks like in the summer!

Love the cakes! That Mate bike is unbelievable, not sure I’d want to ride it on public roads.
Enough about the gears on the gravel bike 😂 Beacon Bikes can sort them out. A proper mixed terrain ride, pretty much what we get if we use Komoot 😂😂
My gears are the gift that keeps on giving, episode 17 of the gear saga coming out soon 😉
@@themuddycyclist "The Revenge of the Shift"😂 Hope you find a solution👍
The Muddy Cyclist doesn't like mud. :-)
😁
I really want to help you with those gears mate, its a shame your at the other end of the country.
Many thanks for the offer, have had a mechanic at a LBS look at them, they are much improved.
You don’t need a mountain bike, get some better tyres for the Boardman
Probably right, any tyre recommendations?
@@themuddycyclist Pirelli Cinturato Gravel mixed or hard. Got them on my Boardman ADV 8.9 and on my Orro Terra C
Thanks
