NEVER PANIC AND BE PATIENT! Having owned beach launched boats here are some STEPS....Wax the hull while on trailer (Cobra floor wax good) Position boat at sensible push in distance. .If you don't have warm up water muffs, you can still warm up the motor to point just before impella squeals. Look to time shore break by pushing in so as to time entry just after shore beak hits and before it washes back. Have the motor on idle during push in. Once in channel between shorebreak and back line get on the plane so you can draw figure of eights to always meet and prop over foamies while waiting for a break in the back line sets then seek you break and gun it.

Westbrook? My C-Ski 440 launched itself there, fortunately during a break in a very large shore break. The beach was very steep and she just took off. Nearly a disaster.
BTW I would never wear a kill switch lanyard in the surf zone. I had 2 accidental engine kills when punching large waves when I was launching a duck as a teenager. Managed to restart just in time.

Yes, Westbrook. Kill switch in surf zone can work both ways and in my opinion, better to wear it. We've had guys fall off their boat during a Westbrook launch with the boat going out to sea with no one on it. We've also had a boat doing loops in the mid break and narrowly missing bathers. I'd rather run the risk of having the boat switch off when not necessary and having to clip the safety back on to restart than risking the motor still running if I've fallen off and risk getting myself or anyone else run over with a propeller. Other issue is, if motor is running and I fall off, the boat can get away from me by moving quicker than I can swim. A boat with motor off is a neautralised threat. If I fall off, then boat must turn off.. So I can climb back on And restart.. But moral of story, just be patient and don't punch any waves that you don't need to.

I see your point regarding the kill lanyard, but the throttle should return to idle if released and the boat circle slowly enough to catch and re-board if one is thrown off.

That's a lot easier than paddling it in and out, sure! 😂
    Good skills, Captain 👌🏻
    The key word is PATIENCE❗️👍🏻
