As the Administration takes significant steps in accelerating innovation in the country, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the launching of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document (NIASD) 2023-2032 at The Metropolitan Theater, Manila on September 27, 2023.
The NIASD outlines the nation's ten-year vision and long-term goals for innovation, providing the roadmap and strategies for enhancing innovation governance, deepening and accelerating innovation efforts, and integrating and fostering public-private partnerships.
President Marcos Jr., as Chair of the National Innovation Council (NIC), approved the NIASD 2023-2032 in June this year. According to Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, acting as the NIC Vice Chair, establishing a dynamic innovation ecosystem is among the strategies in the transformation agenda laid out in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 to achieve a prosperous, inclusive and resilient society.
The NIASD facilitates collaboration through active, reliable and useful platforms, and provides innovation actors the facilities and resources to transform ideas into innovative products and services.
