I had an issue with Yrene’s pregnancy because of the timing. You all are going into battle and you have a death pact with your husband now!! Also Yrene literally makes contraceptive brews. I just wish she would have gotten pregnant toward the end. I was frustrated when I realized she was pregnant because I was like “you’re gonna have to help end this thing and that’s gonna be a more difficult choice if it’s 3 lives now”
In defense of my girl Yrene, while I do think maybe her timing could have been better, I don't really get the impression that she was trying to get pregnant. Like maybe she got a little too caught up in the newlywed phase with Chaol and forgot a contraceptive brew once or twice lol. Would her life be easier if she wasn't pregnant? Probably. But, I'm grateful that SJM didn't make Yrene's pregnancy her happily ever after at the end of the book. I hate when a girlie whose spent the whole book being the hero and going on adventures, ends her series by getting pregnant and essentially retiring from hero-life at the ripe age of like 19. I love that Yrene's pregnancy is part of her big hero moment! It isn't the conclusion to her story, it's just a piece of it.

Also thank you for all the time you put into these videos! I finished KOA in the beginning of the month and I’ve been patiently waiting for your recaps to live it all over again ❤
