It would seem to me that rather than attempt to manufacture a wood stove with an integral thermoelectric generator, it might be more practical to develop a robust thermoelectric module that can be retrofitted to any wood stove.
@rowgler THIS is exactly what needs to be done. True universality where you can place a high performance TEG / PELTIER on any wood burner and get power anywhere.
Hi, great idea, a retrofit TEG generator that would fit any wood stove is in the market and is normally placed on top of the stoves hot plate. I don’t know of any that last long as they are mostly air cooled and can easily overheat. A lot of the fan assisted parts can easily melt and fail if they get to hot. Best regards Howard.
When I was younger I heated primarily with wood and I had a thermo syphon coil around the stovepipe. It heated a 35 gallon tank on the floor above the stove with no moving parts. The sink was on the lower level with the stove so that provided water pressure also. I like the idea of making things do all they can. Good luck with your endeavor.@@howardpym3385
We tried to have wood burning stove. Sadly the regulations now covering soot & fumes have been made so strict that we need a unit attached to the back of the burner, which is larger than the burner has to be fitted. This won't work in our home without MAJOR & expensive alterations to rooms & building here in UK. V good idea he has provided your gov. Allows innovations like this.
I diligently watched the video, waiting for the moment the author tells us how it works. I think I noticed in one sentence only something about some thermocoupling plate, but this didn't help me understand. If the goal of the video was talking about possible uses, it was perhaps success for some. As for me, I don't get it.
He says no batteries are required. It produces plenty of current to operate a separate electric furnace. Normal furnace requires 50 amp 240v. That would be 12 kw. That's the same as a 25 kw generator would have to produce. This guy is Koo Koo of 2024.
He described the device without naming it: two plates of dissimilar metals, hot on one side, cold on the other, produce the electricity. This is called a Peltier device, and it directly converts heat to electricity. Unfortunately they typically produce very few watts, and are usually used in the inverse fashion: adding electricity chills one plate and hearts the other. The more heat you can remove from the hot side, the colder the cold side gets. For this stove, having the hot plate inside the fire box is a huge advantage. Water cooling the cold side is also pretty smart, considering you can use the heated water for additional room heat. All that said, I expect this to put out maybe 200 watts. If be shocked if it got up to 500 watts, and there's just no way you're getting the 1500 out so watts you'd need to run the average house. Still, 200 watts would be excellent supplemental power for running a few LEDs and charging some small devices.
@@wt9653 now then WT you are copying Alarix, silly billy, I have never mentioned or intimated anything to do with an electric furnace, perhaps you should also watch the film again. Kind regards Howard.
@@jeffwells641 hi Jeff, he is called Howard. Heat is transferred by two different temperatures on two ceramic plates with dissimilar metals in the middle. Let’s get it right Jeff. Thanks for your comment though. Have a great day and best regards Howard.
This is AWESOME, I designed this Very stove 5 years ago, But Did Not Have the Time to Bring it to Fruition, and I am SOOOO HAPPY someone Else has Done it and Bringing it To Market , Thank -You for Your Work THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME .....!
Hi Toby, I’d love to know more about your highland surroundings, you have me intrigued. Are you living off grid. ? I’ve lived off grid and it would be great to share our experiences.
@howardpym3385 Good morning Howard, nice to get a reply. I live in the glencoe area, currently in a tent/tipi with a titanium stove. It's still ridiculously cold, though. I do have a place to stay in a house, but I prefer to be outside in the woods, I don't think my dog feels the same 😆 I'm going to be building a dome, trillium domes design for better heat retention. I was looking at the iron heart stove, and then I saw your product. I wish you success!

@@michaelpizza942 Hi Michael, I love pizza 😛. The stove will launch on Kickstarter soon, just finalising everything at the moment. Best regards Howard.
This has literally got to be the most inefficient way to produce power ever, I would hazard that is is only 10-20% efficient compared to other forms of converting wood to power, namely wood -> fire -> steam -> turbine... yes it's that bad... it uses TEG's
While neat, TEGs are super inefficient. It's probably enough to run a few small LEDs or slow charge a phone. @ThePostApocalypticInventor recently did a test build which provides some numbers.
@@Cabinlab - I was just thinking the exact same thing. He said it has water pumps that kick on automatically when running. Water pumps can take a lot of energy to run. I'm having a hard time believing this little stove creates nearly enough energy to run the pumps, let alone provide power for use beyond that. I hope I'm wrong, and would love to be proved wrong. My concern here is that they don't show anything about how it works.
@@colin8532 For sure. Integrating the cold (water) side of the TEG and optimizing everything could definitely squeeze out more efficiency than Post Apocalyptic's tests, but marginally. Big downside of an integrated design is that TEGs are easy to kill. Not hard to imagine a scenario where the water runs out, pump stops pumping, etc. and cooks it. Very cool idea, and I want the concept succeed. It's just one of those things where the marketing seems to over promise.
Hi Keneth, the stove specs will be shown on our web site shortly, the landing page will be up and running in the next few days. The stove has been tested by a specialist company in the UK. All the test results will be made public in the near future. It makes good reading. The stove will launch on kickstarter shortly. Kind regards Howard.
Hi, I have tried retro fit generators but the stove would have to come to our workshop for fitting then go for testing. Unfortunately that makes it impossible. You can buy something that rests on top of the stove using the same principal. I have never tested one so can’t comment except to say there are many reputable companies selling Thermo electric stove top generators. Thank you for your comment. Kind regards Howard.
This is nothing new. 80 years ago they made thermocouple rings that you would put over the neck of an oil lamp to run your radio. Gas furnaces that switched the gas on and off using only the heat from the pilot light. Modern gas cookers that use this principle to turn off the gas in case the burner goes out, wood stove fans. Works OK, just not a lot of power. You can buy a solid state cooler that works on the reverse of this principle.
I was interested until he inserted the climax propaganda. That ley me know the whole thing was a con. Besides the heat will quickly destroy the electronics.
So…did anyone think the ‘water’ he mentions circulating might be for COOLING the electronics? I myself can see a person using more than a common TEG unit inside…yea even steam along with it. Only one part is INSIDE..

What a good idea to start with, I love it! To your critics eh… instead of making a big deal out of whatever negative aspect they can dream up… they should spend their precious time dreaming about applying some of the positive aspects of a very good idea and maybe improve their life or someone else’s….Power to those that strive to apply positive energy.
Hi Timothy, thank you for standing my corner. I believe in the future of our planet and my technology. I also believe it will help the lives of so many people in the future. Statistics show that 2.5 billion people on our planet are without any electricity at all. 3.5 billion people cook and heat on open fires every day, that’s trillions of open fires every year. Global pollution is as bad as its ever been. Wasted heat is almost a sin. Our stove cleans most of the pollutants, produces electricity and heats water from heat that is otherwise lost up the chimney. It has the most up to date burning technology inside. Made by a world famous stove manufacturer to the highest specifications. This I believe is a great tiny step forward for mankind. ( I think a heard a phrase similar to that once 😂) very best regards Howard.
Maybe it could be, that after a while of watching videos with no real substance, I'd rather waste my energy and time on someone that actually do spread real positive energy showing you viable options.
Hi Ramon, apologies, I did respond but must not have pressed the send button. We have a website landing page where it’s free to subscribe. Please do subscribe because return emails show how the stove is made, how safe it is, how much power it makes and how much it costs. Have a great day, my very best regards, Howard.
I would like to learn more about the dimensions, wattage (VA) output, and any other operational and performance details. When is the projected date for availability for purchase or field testing? How much capital are you seeking to raise for this venture? All the best to you on this very worthwhile and exciting effort!
Hi, we have set our goal at a modest £50,000. The stove will be made to our specifications by an international manufacturer and the first stoves have already been earmarked. The money is for production of the generator. Thank you for your encouragement. Very best wishes, Howard.
“Invented a new process” I am pretty sure thermocouples and similar devices have been around for a long time. There are also similar products already available on the market whereas this is still vaporware .
I think that's a limiting mindset. No electricity means you loose 100% of the waste heat (out the chimney). Even if you only capture 5%-10% of the waste heat that's infinitely better than 0. Efficiency is not always the goal. Some times you just need better. Also in the example shown, they where not being used to run industry. Just to power simple devices that consume very little any ways. Led lights you smart phone and maybe charge a battery backup. Lastly, your typical fire stove puts out 6000 btu or more. That's about 2000 watts! even if you get a low % recovery say 10% that's 200 watts an hour for free! That can power a laptop, charge a phone, and have power left for a few LED lights, and to charge a battery bank. It's hard to say no to that for camping, the house or cabin. To bad they never said how much it cost.....
I was interested until he inserted the climax propaganda. That ley me know the whole thing was a con. Besides the heat will quickly destroy the electronics.
@@centurialinc it’s going to be way less than 1% . If you research the efficiency and power producing capabilities of TEC’s (which is what this thing uses) plus account for the energy required for the cooling system (which seems to be water pumped to a radiator) you’ll find it will probably produce less than 5watts max. Over it’s lifetime it probably won’t generate more useful electrical energy to offset the energy to manufacture & supply it in the first place. Except in very specific edge case situations it’s as rough as effective as a chocolate teapot.
Hi Joe, no, I never used oil but have been looking at atomised oil burners for hot climates after spending some time in countries like Saudi Arabia, where some fuels are not available. Thank you for your comment. Kind regards Howard.
Hi Jimmy, glad you like the video, I was quite nervous talking in front of the cameras. All the information will be available to view on our website soon, the landing page will be up in the next few days. The web site is still under construction but almost ready. Best regards Howard.
Thermocouples of existing semiconductors are very low output for the temperature difference and not that heat resistant further limiting output. A low pressure steam loop would probably be more effective and cheaper. Simply mass producing a versatile fuel stove using the firebox for heating, cooking and hot water would be a game changer and let solar or micro wind power your electronics.
Hi John, Solar with snow, no wind, the Super Stove anytime. Perhaps all three would be a good idea. Heat directed to the solar panel rather than a radiator would work, but that would be no good in the dark 😢have a great day John. Best regards.
All the information will be released when the stove launches on kickstarter. The stove will be produced by a world famous stove manufacturer. It passed all the up to date certification including the clean air strategy produced by the EU. Thermo electric generators were first invented in the 1850’s and did only make a tiny amount of power but that is then not now. Technology is moving at an enormous speed.
I get it... it would be a great boon for those without ready access to electricity and security for those who may lose power during a crisis. However, those of us with experience in the kickstarter realm have been grifted MANY times over by projects that have very similar videos stating lofty goals with no hard specifications. I want to believe you. When you only show loads that are a few dozen LEDs or a couple flood LEDs, it's hard to believe this is anything more than a light source or cell phone charger. Which, if that is the case, is worth stating and supports a good portion of folks who need any electric source they can. I look forward to seeing the specs once they are ready to be released.
@@gannas42 Hi, sorry don’t know your name, but I wish to answer you as best I can. The stove was originally designed for off grid living in SIerra Leone where I founded a school in a place called Koidu Town in the region of Kono where the blood diamond war started. We decided to launch on kickstarter as a way of not just funding the manufacture of the generator but also bringing awareness to electricity poverty. Producing the generators is not a problem and we have not set our goal high. The stove will be made by one of the finest stove manufacturers in the world, the company is held in very high esteem and rewound for its integrity. You are quite right, the stove electricity production will run a series of LED lights and charge phones, iPad’s, re chargeable lights and torches, but at the same time it will also produce hot water and also runs a circulating pump. It has never been advertised as a stove that will power a house. Everyone that has lived off grid will understand how to use the stove, one does not run every light in the house but learns how to conserve electricity. The Super Stove will run lights, charge phones and run hot water through radiators in other parts of a house cabin etc, you can cook on it, all with wasted heat from a wood burner. Global warming is upon us and I only hope that projects like ours will help in the smallest of ways. Three power sauces from wasted heat can only be a good thing. I would like to know your name if possible but send my best regards anyway.
I love this especially if combined with solar. My home community endures heavy snow and the highest temperatures in summer. Please keep me posted. Will it run the fridge consistently and can the power be stored? I absolutely want want this! Keep going!
Hi Sandy, thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement, it really does mean a lot to me. I understand your weather after living in Latvia for some time. Freezing winters and hot summers. I never tried to run a fridge with this stove. I did design a stove to run a medical centre, including fridges, in Africa some time ago. We did build one but it weighed just under one ton. 😅 Please subscribe and I’ll email over all information. Also please keep in touch. My best regards, Howard.
went to your domain and it forwarded me to another website, based on your email address, that had NOTHING to do with stoves or electricity... Sounds very interesting would love to know more about it...
unless something extraordinary happened in the world of physics that I missed, the performance will not be great, I expect something in the order of tens or at most lower hundreds of watts. For lighting nowadays, LEDs are probably sufficient, but heating water with them is really nonsense.
I would imagine the water would be heated through a water boiler jacket and gravity tank with electricity output used to power the pump. @@pavelsulc2617
Hi MSMS,our stove will also charge a phone or IPad, or even both at the same time while also running its own circulation pump, it produces hot water that can be directed through domestic radiators while at the same time keeping your lights on. Best regards Howard.
Hi, is this something like BioLife products where you can charge your phone and solar lights from the little fire-burning outdoor camp stove? I am looking into van life and am interested in a smaller version than what is shown in this video, something like the GRIZZLY Cubic Mini Wood Stove? Thank you.
Hi, thank you for you comments, yes it works with the same principal, thermo and electrics. I was first invented for off grid as I have lived off grid and know what life is like without electricity.
I can imagine a system like this that consists of a base unit, perhaps 2-3 different sizes, and then some modules to customize its function for end user. These modules could include powered ventilation (combustion chamber, or an air handler for the living space), alternatives on the energy side such as inverter and battery combos, start automation, pellet auto fill, damper control, convection loop cooling instead of pumped, hydronic heat exchanger & circ pump for hot water generation, cook surface accessories, just to name a few immediate thoughts off the top of my head... What sort of power yield could one expected from this? I wouldn't expect much, but I am not familiar with peltier thermo-generation. Of course, even a little electricity is much better than nothing. I'm a fan of rocket stoves. How do you get this one to burn cleanly, assuming it allows for modulating the rate of burn?
Hi, the stove has an exceptionally well designed tertiary burner with double vents side to side. It was designed by one of the finest stove manufacturers in the world. The same company will be making the stove to our specifications. Already agreed and stoves have already been earmarked. Regards Howard.
You could also get a paper shredder, and take old office documents, shred them, press them into paper bricks (which people already do) and burn them as logs if you live in a city or something. So you don't need 10 acres of woodland and a chainsaw to use one of these if you are creative.
Hi I like your comment 👍. Quite right, lots of people use wasted paper made to briquettes as fuel. I bought a briquetting machine some time ago to test the making of fuel from all different kinds of materials. I used dry straw, grass and leaves in my briquettes and they all burned well. Need to charge my phone! Let me fire up my super stove because it's the middle of summer and a nice warm fire would be really good especially that the sun is not shining and the wind is not blowing.... Perfect 👍
Hi Art, Yes the Biolite, a great invention. Used once or twice a year it will last a long time. Not sure if it was used all day every day, but love mine. Free electricity, WOW.
it is a presser vessel it has to be super safe only leap I see, other than meeting emissions in some countries and then there is the technology barriers for some now as well , cant wait to see it on the market .
Hi Lonny, thank you for your message. The Super Stove is super safe and meets the most up to date emission certification. It went to a specialist test house attached to 4 domestic radiators and 30 LED lights. It ran for many hours and the results were perfect. The stove passed with flying colours. It is EU compliant and has passed the most up to date Clean Air Strategy issued by the European Union which all new stoves have to. Kind regards Howard.
Hi Alan, off grid living can be really great. Especially if you have access to electricity. Our Stove keeps the lights on in any weather, anytime of the day or night. Cook, heat, and light are the most important parts for the off grid community. My suggestion, look to combine the stove with solar, you get the best of all worlds. Thank you for your message Alan. My best regards, Howard.
Hi, Thank you for your comment. I am of the older generation, a little more than 50, I am in the plus range 😊 76 to be exact. I also walk, about 5 miles every day, feel 50 again and am looking forward to the future. Please except my best regards, Howard.
There is probably a reason that he doesn't mention output power and that is because it will run some lights, but doubtful that it will run a refrigerator or anything on that scale.
Hi Richard, Quite right it was not designed to run household equipment. A wood burner that normally makes only radiant heat, most of which is wasted up the chimney was developed to use the wast heat turning it into useable hot water for domestic radiators pumped by its own circulation pump and electricity for lighting and phone/IPad charging etc. our motto, why waste it when you can use it for free. Kind regards Howard
Hi Howard, very impressive video. Please keep me posted. I'm interested from the perspective of retrofitting existing wood heaters as I refurbish them for a living. Could such a device be fitted to fireboxes which have fire-bricks, say in the upper part of the firebox above the bricks? And could it work attached to the flue outlet or lower flue? One thing that concerns me is the durability of the electronics in close proximity to such extreme heat.
Hi, I did make a generator in a flue some years ago but it didn’t work well, a few years on now with lots more knowledge, perhaps I will try again one day. My electronics are not near the heat source, the wires are Teflon coated and can stand a great deal of heat so no problem. I also installed a generator in a fire brick once but also not so good. During my years working with thermal electrics I’ve tried almost everything. I’m still trying to this day. I am working with Thermal Fusion at the moment but it may be another 10 years before that comes to market. Have a great day and thanks for you comments, kind regards Howard.

Hi thank you for your comment. I guess you know a little about geothermal. Geothermal energy the earths crust broken into pieces, alowing magma to come close to the earths crust ( known as tectonic plates) can be used for heat and electricity production but unfortunately very difficult to harvest for life off grid. I think it better to stick to a wood stove using wast heat that normally goes up the chimney, utilising it to make electricity and hot water. Best regards Howard.
This seems to be a version of a large peltier device... Not a great energy exchange,... But not "fake"... A cleaner enviromental , stronger energy product, would be a de-gasifier stove and a " normal" combustion generator.... Much more labor intensive, and complex system.... Are there any samples you'd be willing to share for people who can't afford, but would greatly benefit from the device. We live in the high Sierra mountains and use our stove about 3/4 of the year. As temperatures regularly fall below 30°F, even during clear summer nights. And this would be a enormous benefit to our family. I have a biolite mini stove that does similar things. Hi Jose, The stove was not designed to run a house so you can’t run household appliance from it. The stove was designed with off grid homes in mind. It heats water and pumps it through some domestic radiators, It also produces electricity to run the pump and also gives power out to run lights, charge phones and Kendal’s etc. We use the waste heat that normally goes up the chimney and turns it into good use. A normal wood burner gives radiant heat in the room its installed in and everything else is wasted. Our stove will heat more than one room, and keep the lights on. Thank you for your interest and the lovely comment, Kindest regards Howard
Increase the temperature differential of TEG with the current it produces, by releasing a heating source or even to supply a hot water tank. It's a very good idea, very well thought out: heating more than just one room in the house autonomously, and getting some extra charge or light. The low efficiency of thermometric recovery is not a problem at all for your application, it's just a question of fine tuning. But the TEG module is the wearing part that can break down if the heat rises too high. How do you optimise this parameter?
Picture won't come up in youtube. The Power Multiplier Device: Open sourced, gravity driven, free energy generator: Functions as follows: There are two large sprockets, one on the roof of the building, the other at ground level. A chain connects both so that when one side of the chain is pulled down it turns both sprockets. On the axle of the lower sprocket there is another sprocket that connects to a transmission that is connected to a generator. When the same side of the chain is pulled down it turns the lower sprocket and the second sprocket which turns the generator to produce energy. This requires a downward pull of 2,000 pounds to produce sufficient energy. On the inside of the chain that is pulled down there is a small drive sprocket that is kept in place by two heavy plates, one of each side of the small sprocket, having the axle of the small sprocket going through each weight. On the outside of the chain there are two idler wheels above and below where the small sprocket is on the other side to keep the chain on the small sprocket. Two more idler wheels at the top of each weight to keep it attached to the chain. Each axle of the idler sprocket has threads for a machine nut so they stay in place as connectors. The axle of the small sprocket goes through the weights on both sides and extends out. A large bicycle-type wheel is placed on this axle and has a diameter of 7 feet. At the top of the weight on the side of this bicycle-type wheel is a small motor that has a chain around its drive sprocket that goes around the circumference of the bicycle-type wheel. Small motor draws energy from the battery to turn a large bicycle-type wheel clockwise, turning the drive sprocket clockwise also because both share the same axle. This has the drive sprocket climb the chain, taking the whole assembly with its 2,000 pounds of weights. Three things now happen: 1) The motor takes the assembly to the top of the chain with its 400 pound pull, taking 1 hour to do so, requiring the energy amount from the battery. Energy Expended going up. EE/up= 1 hour pull of 400 pounds from the battery. 2) As the assembly is climbing the chain, it's heavy weight (2,000 lbs.) is still hanging/pulling on the chain, pulling the chain down which turns the transmission/generator, producing a full charge of energy going back into the battery. Energy generated going up, EG/Up = 1 hour of a 2,000 pound pull by the heavy mechanism. 3) When the assembly reaches the top the small motor shuts off and the assembly's weight slowly begins to descend, pulling the chain down with it. Since it climbed the chain faster than it pulled the chain down, its descent will take longer than 1 hour for its energy generated down charge into the battery. EG/Down = 1+ hour of a 2,000 pound pull charging into the battery. EE/Up 1 hour of a 400 pound pull < EG/UP (1 hour of a 2,000 pound pull charge into the battery) + EG/Down (1+ hours of the 2,000 pound pull charge into the battery) = FE, EE/up < (EG/UP + EG/Down) = FE. With a heavier weight: 1) The motor takes the assembly to the top of the chain, taking 3 minutes to do so, requiring the energy amount from the battery that is represented by the expression 1N. Energy expended going up. EE/up=1N. 2) As the assembly is climbing the chain, it's heavy weight is still hanging/pulling on the chain, pulling the chain down which turns the transmission/generator, producing a full charge of energy going back into the battery. Energy generated going up, EG/up=.4N. 3) When the assembly reaches the top, the small motor shuts off and the assembly's weight slowly begins to descend, pulling the chain down with it. This descent takes 10 times longer than the ascent due to the heavy weight of the assembly, and the low gearing of the transmission, it 'creeps' down. In 3 minutes going up, .4N was charged back into the battery. In 6 minutes going down .8N will be charged into the battery, replacing all of the energy the small motor expended. The remaining 24 minutes of the descent will charge 3.2N into the battery, Energy generated going down, EG/down=3.2N energy not needed for the mechanism's operation, free energy. EE/up < (EG/up + EG/down) = FE, or, 1N < (.4N + 4N) = 3.4N FE. Connecting another PMD with five times the weight, to the first one, having the lower sprocket be the small motor for the second one's larger bicycle-type wheel, will produce more energy.

Hi Tyler, ( my grandson carries the same name ❤) yes The Super Stove is coming soon. We have all our ducks in a row. Thanks for your comment. Best regards Howard.
Hey Howard, Where I live firewood is not cheap. $400 a cord for soft wood and $580 a cord for hardwood. If you cut it yourself like I do, consider the time and effort it takes to gather the wood, most people don't want to go to the trouble of gathering wood. Great idea but firewood aint cheap.
Hi Stephen. I agree wood fuel is getting more expensive for some of us, but it depends on where in the world you live I guess. It can be quite uplifting and rewarding foraging for fuel. Not to mention good exercising and being at one with the outdoors. I guess we are very much alike. Best regards Howard.
Howard let me explain about gathering firewood. 1st you need a chainsaw, you need to know how to opporate and maintain a chainsaw. 2nd, you need a vehicle to haul the wood, generally a pickup truck is your best bet. Then you haul your wood back home and have to split and stack. Splitting wood by hand which is what I like to do is strenuious or you rent or own a gas powered hydraulic spliter which is expensive and hard on your back to opporate. In my lifetime I have cut well over 100 cords of wood for my personal use. I think I know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the reply. Stephen
@@stephenhebard3004 Hi Steven, let me also explain. I owned a wood fuel business for more than 15 years, operated my own kilns and exported to Europe and the UK in 40 foot containers. My logs were sold in large DIY supermarkets and I supplied many retailers. In my busiest time I exported up to 4 40ft containers per week of split logs weighing in above 20 tons each, I did not cut trees down to do this, we used branches only. So I guess I also know a lot about the wood fuel business. I have not mentioned yet but my company also produced 2 x 40 ft containers of kindling every week for years. Have a good day, Howard.
Hi Stephen. I would like to add to my response. Now retired from the fuel business. My company was FSC certified. ( certificate issued by the Forest Stewardship Council). This certificate confirms that the wood has come from a responsible source, that every tree cut down has been replaced, dead trees are left standing to help feed woodpeckers and the most healthy trees are left standing to help feed the small wild life below that depend on it, while keeping the identity of the forest during re growth. Most of the FSC certified trees cut down are for construction timber but the branches are usually used for firewood or to make wooden toys, chopping boards etc. Have a great weekend Steven. Kind regards Howard.
Hi, my apologies, I replied to. Your comment yesterday but forgot to press the send button. The stove will shortly launch on Kickstarter and all information will be available then. I noticed the reply I sent yesterday but without words. Best regards Howard.
Nope, gasification is very wasteful. Steam power is much better, a combination of thermoelectric and steam is even better (i.e. place the TEGs between the heat source and the boiler).
Hi, the film was first made to raise awareness to electricity poverty and pollution but after such an enormous response I guess it now looks more like a promotional one. I lived off grid in Africa and know the difficulties of living without electricity. In my last response I mentioned that 2.5 million people live without electricity, but fires and pollution are incredible, over 3.5 billion people cook and heat on open fires every day, that’s trillions of fires every year. The Super Stove uses the most advanced burning technology and eradicates most pollutants. More information will be available shortly as the Stove will soon launch on Kickstarter and all information will be available then. Thank you for your comment. Kind regards Howard.
I believe TEGMART has stand-alone thermoelectric generators for sitting on/near a wood stove surface. Kind of expensive though. I think ..... maybe about US $700 for a 100 watt version. Max. temp. is something like 800 deg. F. (Has water cooling) I believe the surface of a wood stove can get to about 400 deg.F. It would be neat if someone could make an efficient wood stove that had a phase change heat transfer material in a double wall that could effectively release heat during the night or early morning as the fire dies down.
Hi Rob and Rachel, thank you for your comment. Yes the guys at TegMart have a thermal generator. It’s great that we have such a lot in common. This technology is not cheap to produce and Tegmarts generator is a great piece of kit. Making wasted heat in to electricity can only be a good thing. Kind regards Howard.
@@howardpym3385 Certainly incorporating it directly into a wood stove would be more convenient and could eventually be more economical. I'm all for anything "cogen" related.

With the use of thermoelectric generator plates, this seems to be a no brainer. I was going to do some experimenting on this tech but it seems someone beat me to the punch. Or perhaps you need some competition? ? ?

I'm afraid the more you learn, the more disappointed you'l be. It's inevitably going to be expensive, with a very low power output, because of .... materials science and the laws of physics , as they relate to thermo electric generators.

Sounds great, being a forester over in Ireland this really appeals to me. I have been toying with a sterling engine... But would be surprised if a small stove like that could power a home, just simply on power in power out principles. Also the way governments are going burning anything will be outlawed soon. No new builds in Ireland have chimneys they are banned. If they cannot make money from it they will ban it. Tesla found that out. But I'm in, keep me posted, and if you have any figures that would be great. Keep it rolling 🙏

Hi, the stats are coming shortly. Our web site landing page will be up in the next few days and the web site shortly after. Have a great day, kind regards Howard.
It would seem to me that rather than attempt to manufacture a wood stove with an integral thermoelectric generator, it might be more practical to develop a robust thermoelectric module that can be retrofitted to any wood stove.
crack on then smarty
I am thinking Stirling engine would be pretty good...

I'm interested in finding out more like electrical and BTU output.
Scratch me nuts old boy, I was just thinking the same thing. And could this work with an outside boiler?
This has literally got to be the most inefficient way to produce power ever, I would hazard that is is only 10-20% efficient compared to other forms of converting wood to power, namely wood -> fire -> steam -> turbine... yes it's that bad... it uses TEG's
Would love to know more about the energy output specs.
Is it available to test or purchase?

Hi, I have tried retro fit generators but the stove would have to come to our workshop for fitting then go for testing. Unfortunately that makes it impossible. I have never tested one so can’t comment except to say there are many reputable companies selling Thermo electric stove top generators. Thank you for your comment. Kind regards Howard.
@@howardpym3385 where are you located? Thanks for the reply

Probably Peltier electric generation. Not enough to power more than a few LED lights. The fact that he doesn't say that upfront is suspicious.
Exactly how much power does it generate?
It would have been nice to hear some specs even if you said projected
The power it produces would be tiny
Would be better if that heat was absorbed and stored like a steam engine spinning a generator
I was interested until he inserted the climax propaganda. That ley me know the whole thing was a con. Besides the heat will quickly destroy the electronics.
More likely less than 1% efficient. Old news, thermoelectric devices have been around for close to 100 years.@@centurialinc
Ever try used oil or vegetable oil? Would love one in my off grid home

Steam power is much better, a combination of thermoelectric and steam is even better (i.e. place the TEGs between the heat source and the boiler).
Loud, expensive,dangerous,higher maintenance
What price point are you attempting to meet?
Is it possible to commercialize this? I have a requirement for numerous units to generate power to drive a fan to improve combustion..
Three power sauces from wasted heat can only be a good thing. unless something extraordinary happened in the world of physics that I missed, the performance will not be great, I expect something in the order of tens or at most lower hundreds of watts. For lighting nowadays, LEDs are probably sufficient, but heating water with them is really nonsense.

This sound amazing, I have a off grid project and I would love to test drive this idea , please tell me how to find you and your stove
I would LOVE to have one! WOW!! Thank you
Hi, Thank you for your comment.
A new and cool TEG. The newer technologies that make more efficient use of power allow this to be successful, in my opinion.
Hi Sean, your quite right. Over this last few years this technology has change an awful lot. Improving rapidly. The stove uses the latest most advanced technology and I believe it will add greatly to how we see power generation in the future.
Thank you for your comment Sean. Best regards Howard.
This is very interesting Howard I'm interested in this.
Hi Morrie, thank you for your positive comment. Lots of negative people in this world, what a shame. Positivity and happiness go hand in hand. Best regards Howard.
People lived for thousands of years without ANY electricity. We could do it again, and it would make it much more difficult for those who want to track us and control us.
Hi, Quite right but life would be much harder I guess. Regards Howard.
@@howardpym3385I think if we find ourselves in a situation where we need to make our own electricity, life has already become much harder at that point. Sincere thanks for your comments.
Howard... where do I order one?
I too agree that a chimney stack module would really be innovative and millions will sell in months.
Hi Dusty, thank you for your comment. The stove will launch on Kickstarter shortly. I agree, a generator in a stove flue would be great. I guess you saw that I have tried it some years ago without much success. I have been asked by a prominent European flue manufacturer and will try again in the future. Our technology has moved on light years since my last try. Have a good day Dusty.
Kind regards Howard.
Amazing! This is wonderful
Hi Jinnea, thank you for your kind encouraging word, it means a lot to us. We have had such an enormous amount of interest recently, with over 150,000 views of our film in the last 7 days. I really hope that the film raises awareness to electricity poverty all over the world. 2.5 billion people live without electricity. Kindest regards Howard.
Cool idea when heat is needed. Can we do the same with geothermal all year round?
Rethinking our energy consumption problems,..... respect !!
I was interested until he inserted the climax propaganda. That ley me know the whole thing was a con. Besides the heat will quickly destroy the electronics.
@@amypatterson9851Hi Amy, not sure what you mean by propaganda, but anyway. Millions of people cook on open fires every day, don’t have electricity and burn kerosine lamps to be able to see at night. Open fires are polluting our atmosphere, Kerosine lamps are the cause of thousands of deaths every year. It is said that a kerosine lamp lit for one night is like smoking 40 cigarettes. Imagine a baby in an atmosphere like that smoking 40 cigarettes every night. I have lived with these lamps in Africa and know the danger they cause, I have also lived in a war-torn area. My film was not intended to be propaganda, just drawing attention to electricity poverty and pollution. I do apologise if you think that was my intention, it was not. Kindest regards Howard.
Hi Chad, it is a TEG generator but with a difference,it is completely automatic. It is also built completely inside the stoves fire box, has a circulation pump, produces hot water and pumps it through domestic radiators at the same time making electricity and cooking my breakfast. What more could you ask for😊 bacon sandwich WOW. Best regards Howard.
But the water coils could be used to heat driveways and floors and showers. The possibilities are endless. But funds are not. So I ask for a donation of sorts. With an honest review and possible growth potential in the new housing market, here. Just a thought. Thank you for sharing your invention. Brilliant!

Brilliant and timely? How many kilowatts so far?
My guess is that the teg's thermal upper limit is restricted to 212°F.
I have already seen TEG designed for more than 300°C @@PsychicCellphone

The Power Multiplier Device: Open sourced, gravity driven, free energy generator:
Functions as follows:
There are two large sprockets, one on the roof of the building, the other at ground level.
Three things now happen:
1) The motor takes the assembly to the top of the chain with its 400 pound pull, taking 1 hour to do so, requiring the energy amount from the battery.
With a heavier weight:
1) The motor takes the assembly to the top of the chain, taking 3 minutes to do so, requiring the energy amount from the battery that is represented by the expression 1N.

I'm not able to find where one might buy a Super Stove??

Real power from wood is a gasifier to a conventional generator.
Nope, gasification is very wasteful. Steam power is much better, a combination of thermoelectric and steam is even better (i.e. place the TEGs between the heat source and the boiler).
@noneyabusinessyoushouldbes7924 Nope, gasifier to a regular generator. Simple and common. I can't buy a steam engine at Home Depot.
I'm afraid I need to know a bit of what you are presenting in the first half or it is a nogo.
I would like to learn more.
