    Pasar Senggol, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia
The night market in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, known as Pasar Senggol is an amazing place to eat a range of different Indonesian Balinese street food!
One evening, we headed over to the market at about 5 pm to start eating, and in this video I’ll show you everything I ate on this Balinese street food tour.
Babi guling - Babi guling, or Balinese style roast pig, is one of the ultimate things you have to eat, especially if you enjoy pork, when you’re in Bali. I started the street food tour off with a plate of babi guling. I was alright, but could have been better had it been hot and fresher.
    30,000 IDR ($2.20) per plate
Sweets - Along with full meals, you’ll find an abundance of Indonesian street food snacks and desserts. Klepon was my favorite.
    1,000 IDR ($0.7) per box
Nasi ayam campur - This stall served one of the best single plates of food I had in Bali, ayam betutu and some mixed chicken all over a plate of rice with all the toppings and mixes. The food was sensational, packed with flavor.
    25,000 IDR ($1.84)
Tipat cantok - Similar to another common Indonesian street food called gado gado, tipat cantok includes rice cakes and bean sprouts in a peanut sauce. It was pretty good, and I enjoyed how you could watch her making it in front of you.
    7,000 IDR ($0.51)
Serombotan - Finally, to end this Indonesian street food tour in Bali, I had a serving of something called serombotan, a delicious mixture of vegetables and coconut and shrimp paste. It was surprisingly very good and flavorful.
    5,000 IDR ($0.37)
    MUSIC: Tropic Fun - goo.gl/HwVjdo

Bali is just one small island in Indonesia which has a lot of food to be offered.
But Indonesia has thousands of islands from west to east with different taste and food culture..
Indonesia has more than 100,000 recipes, and only 30,000 of them have been documented (not including the regular street food).
70 years of life expectancy will not be enough to cover them all.. :D

Mark, I love watching your videos, particularly because they offer a view of cultures at the ground level.I am so happy to see two veggie dishes in this video. You do feature a lot of salads and raw fresh veggies and relishes but you usually focus on meat as the main course. In Bali and in Indonesia, India, etc and many places in Asia and Africa, many people are vegetarian and or vegan and I would love to see some more of those dishes featured in the mix! I have been binge watching your videos and now I can tell when you really love something, think it's ok, or not great! You have a great smile and you are very engaging too.I would also love to see more interaction with Mica and your wife and how you both travel and eat such exotic foods all the time with a baby in tow. A little more lifestyle stuff. Keep up the good work! I think you should have a series on Netflix, Amazon, or a syndicated show for cable and perhaps PBS. I have seen many food/ travel shows but none as good on the street food as you are-especially in Southeast Asia and all over Africa- places that are less well known.

It was so nice seeing you eating using your hand. Here in the Philipines we usually eat with our bare hands, and seeing a foreigner doing the same is amazing. I can say your not a picky person when it comes to food that's why I love watching all your travel videos. Keep up the good work and good luck.

Misty Lilac Indonesians use lots kind of spices. I think shallot and lots of chilies are the most prevalent. Followed by garlic, galangal, tumeric, nutmeg, ginger, basil, tomato, tamarind, and they also use lots of lemon grass and lime, many kinds of leafs, etc. They dont really use onion and common soy sauce for lots of their traditional food. Unless the food is chinese/western-indonesian fusion. Most used sauce is actually sweet soy sauce or what they call it 'kecap manis' and they use it for typical sweet dish, mix it with peanut sauce or some kind of soups. So typical Indonesian food are rich and spicy.

Mark, right when Micah grabbed you which was so endearing, you might want to stop the video when you play back and snap a still picture of that....and then frame it. Kids, they grow like weeds...can never have enough pictures of kids!! 💙
