Nice, I just bought that kit and am doing the same thing. I knew about the installation kit because the description mentioned it was required. I was worried about tapping those two holes right above the cam journals
You can drill as specified in the instructions, but you MUST NOT drill too deep. I think it was like only less than .250".
Hi Edwin is the name very brilliant
Hi, do we use a cam thrust button with these retro fit cams or just the stock thrust plate. 74 351w, Thanks
How do you like the cam since the install? I got that same cam on a trade and was curious about the sound and performance. Would be going in a 11.5-1 compression 414 haven’t seen any videos on it
This is the video of the first startup. The audio doesn’t do it justice. I think it sounds pretty good.

Here’s one.

Would linkable lifters work as an alternative to adapting ?
I would think so, but the topic of the video was about dealing with this specific kit.
So how has it been since modification??? I keep hearing that drilling in the lifter bay will lead to cracks which makes me very nervous.
Honestly, the engine has not been run much since completion. We were hit by Hurricane Ian in Sept. 2022. The car was totally submerged, but I had it running again, within a few weeks.
Since then the project had been put on the back burner. Restoring our home has been the priority.
All that said, it runs great and sounds amazing. I’m not too concerned about breaking the motor. It’s just going to be a street rod. It will likely never make more than a few passes at the strip.
What is the cam part number ?
You are so smart. You would be better off doing your own homework.
@@jimbougard8560 home work for what ?
@@cammontreuil7509 Since I posted this video, I've learned that the stock roller lifters are NOT long enough. I'm glad I went with the Comp Cams kit! I would advise you to do the same. If you know better... groovy for you.
@@jimbougard8560 I'm aware of having the correct base circle cam with the right block.
Link bar lifters are better than dog legs.
I only use crower severe duty.
Expensive, but you don't have to worry about them.
I've had that cheap retro fit cam pot metal fail.
Main bearing saddles look in poor condition.
Thanks for the information.
They look perfectly fine
