Can you still become a priest of you have been convicted of a non-violent felony in the past? If you really feel a calling from God and genuinely want to help people from the goodness of your heart and guide them to a righteous path to the Lord, does it matter if you have a criminal record?
I am currently a sophomore at a community college in Oklahoma. I am pursuing an associates in theater. Then I plan to go to a university where I would change my major to philosophy & religion. After receiving a bachelors degree I plan to go to seminary. I want to know if starting with a theater degree will affect my chances of being accepted into a seminary?
U were not called to priestly celibacy for men this may seem impossible burden but nothing is too hard for God who calls men to witness to him alone in love n service of the church he gave his beloved sons life for our sakes.
Priests in the West are supposed to be physically celibate. Spiritually, daily, they are united to Jesus. And more, through their ministry they produce Jesus for others. They are spectacularly fruitful.

Also, assumptions like thinking if one church has a bad priest the other priests are also bad is not true. Not all priests who enter in the seminary tell the truth. Some could have that sexual desire prior to becoming a priest and still go through with it. Some may hide what they feel through the priest hood to avoid it. If you didn't know , two priests were arrested somewhere in the U.S I believe for having sex in a car. Yes that's right two Male priests having sex in a car. While I don't know what you would assume out of this, others have made a quick assumption that priests and the church are terrible because of this yet people must realize that the actions of one do not conclude the actions of all(in this situation there are 2 people involved). There may be some priests out there who commit mortal sins but it doesn't mean the church is bad because of that. Some of the smartest people never graduated out of high school. Just ask around and have high hopes. Believe me you'll go far with being yourself instead of having a high degree.
In my church we take seminary at 7:00 in the morning every day instead of taking it later. I'm in grade 11 and only 16 but am technically a priest. After high school we go on a 2 year long mission across the world to share the gospel. That's when most of us do the most spiritual growth.
The Roman Catholic Church of Jesus God Almighty. IMO, that should be the title of our Church. Roman Catholics are all about Jesus and His love for us whether we are married, single, priests/religious. When I ask a priest/seminarian "Why do you want to be a priest" I expect the response to be "Because I'm in love with Jesus God Almighty" not "I feel called to a life of service in the Church." All that desire to serve, and the requirements and consequences, flow from our love of Jesus.
