This video is awesome! A full exhibition of special atracks that I always wanted to know how to do when I played it many years ago.
It is a lifetime that i've been searching for this game and couldn't find it. Because i didn't remember the name. At first i came to Soul Blade and thought that was the game, but i knew there was something about it that didn't felt right. After a while i knew that wasn't the game, especially because of this game i remembered vividly the special moves where the background goes black and characters did insane combos. It was a first for me. Now when i finally found this video it was like a spark, i felt exactly that this was the game! Battle Arena Toshinden 3!

Man, I never knew you could get an alternate costume for Zola and I NEVER knew about Sophia's Salamander.
By the way, I wish that more of the english voice acting was up to par- David, Rachel, Tracy, Kayin and Abel had some great voices. I can't blame you for Japanese voicing it ;3
Nagisa and Balga were my faves, loved Vermilion's name and style.. you could play as Michael Jackson too, I haven't heard gamers talk about this game much though, wish there was a modern/updated version.

I have all Battle Arena Toshinden games and for me Toshinden 3 is by far the best and my favorite game of the series and this is my order;
BAT3>BAT Remix>BAT1>BAT URA>BAT2>BAT4
Battle Arena Toshinden 3 is the best in all (Characters, Moves, Abilities, Combos, Special Attacks, Themes, Soundtracks and much more). Everybody have a favorite Battle Arena Toshinden game and they like the BAT1 and other people like BAT2 and blablabla. For the people who saying BAT1 or BAT2 or BAT4 is better than BAT3 deserves a punch in the face, everybody have a favorite Toshinden game but pls no other game is better than BAT3.

I do like the game. But gameplay-wise to BAT1 and BAT2 are smoother than BAT3. In which, I do find those two actually better than this. I do adore this game especially some of the characters like Eiji or Sho (My faves!).
@@zawellthewanderer8224 this, also bat 1 and 2 had proper, powerful bosses, in 3 they are just some random idiots. also, they removed the open arena thing which just killed bat 3 for me

I absolutely LOVE this game. This is by far the best BAT game out of all of them.
I always wished they would Re-make this BAT 4 game for the ps4 and in the style graphics of Soul Calibur, etc.
In my point of view, as soon as soul calibur introduced the Create a player mode, the game went down hill because all the regular characters became insignificant because you have players who spend hours at creating their own player which looked more bad ass then regular characters.
I spent hours playing BAT 4 and when I got all characters and secret ones, spent hours beating the game to see endings, etc.
The music is awesome, etc.
I know the made some BAT game for the Wii system which has nothing to do with BAT series, so that does not count.

So, "Ten Count" is basically a parody character of the late Michael Jackson? I never knew that; then again I'm not that familiar with the Toshinden titles. Good video, though!

I did some searching in Japanese sites and found the commands to do these "unknown moves":
Cuiling: b, ub, u, uf, f + square + circle
Ellis' Ribbon Toss: f, df, d, db, b, ub, u, uf, f, df, d, db, b + Triangle
As you can see they're quite difficult to pull off consistently.
xypherzx I just found an easy yet difficult way to do Cuiling's secret move. When i first did that,it took a lot of tries just to get it right. But eventually,i had a plan. I started using the secret move,but this time,i used Cuiling's heavy kick. And Finally,i did it! I used his heavy kick in order to use her secret move. It took me a lot tries like i said that earlier,but luckily,i manged to found a way to make doing her secret move easier.
I remember this game but I could have sworn it had much better graphics! I remember it more detailed than what it seems now! And I surely do not remember MJ moonwalking in this s.o.b lol.

What buttons are you pressing for each Bayhou's desperation move? 🤔
I always pressing Down Triangle or R1 and he makes that Random
Also Sho just can do one Paralyze per round right? 🤔
Bayhou's desperation move enders are random when you mash any button. If you don't mash the ender is always the frontal ball one.
I never tried doing that Sho move in an actual match but yeah I think once per round.

all these movements for 1/10 of health. very bizarre. normally super moves should at least takes 1/3 of health or sth. super moves shouldnt take same hp as 4-5 kicks:) but very colorful and interesting fighters indeed

Ahh many an hour were spent with me and my friends in front of the old CRT in the lounge room head crunching and chainsawing each other in this game. Definitely one of my favorite ps1 games of all time.
There's one secret missing though. Abel's overdrive has a button input that turns his fireballs into ice and lightning balls and finishing with a huge fireball at the end.

The motion is: f, df, d, db, b, db, b, f, b + circle
It doesn't really do anything aside from gaining access to perform his suicide move simply by doing the same motion.
It has a half second unblockable stun, you can dash in and start combos 😁

@IDA447 Ah ok, I know exactly what moves you're referring to... the reason I didn't include them is because they're regular Special Moves. As for the other video I did make Sho do his invisible Hishouzan at Vermillion but it got interrupted by his air soul bomb.
@martin1645 Shoulder buttons, there is no known button combination to perform it manually so far... even Cuiling's secret move.

To perform Sho's suicide move: f, df, d, db, b, db, b, f, b + circle for activation then do the same motion again for the actual move.
I am invincible too my fights with my Veil is 16 seconds or 18 seconds, i love this character is the best character of Toshinden games series, i like Abel but Veil is simply the best ;)

I rooted for BAT so much when I was young but it was out shined by tekken... by a lot.
@althegamefreak I used to love this move. The first time you did the input the purple light flash was like a 1 and half second time stop. Seriously mad setup or escape move if you timed it right and had fast fingers.

There's a way to end Abel's or Veil's (or both, I can't remember) meteor shower super with a giant meteorite at the end, that smashes the opponent to the ground. I can't remember how to do that, and I'm kinda surprised that you didn't show that in the video :)
I have never, ever seen Abel do a variation of his Overdrive....until now! Just when I thought I covered everything in this game (and double checked the move lists...guess I overlooked that one) I'll make a new video showing said move soon thanks!
xypherzx Hahaha, no problem! I was a real BAT3 geek when I was little. Even though I had a Japanese copy (and I didn't understand Japanese :P) I've managed to squeeze everything from this game. I think I discovered that Abel's overdrive finish hit by mashing buttons one day :P
...Everything besides that Ellis combo at 3:28! How to do that? That's not her secret move isn't it? I mean not one of these unlockables, right? Or is it? And I just don't remember? :P

To perform one of Ellis secret moves (called "Stardust Night") the motion is: f, df, d, db, d, df, b, f, d + Triangle

Btw, I can see that you're still playing Japanese version judging by the voices. :D Personally - I can't stand the English dub in this game.

Funny thing is, that Battle Arena Toshinden wiki says that Abel's and Veil's overdrive is also called "Stardust Night". Maybe it's an error
Manobaru Practicing it is all I can say but considering the game has some input issues it will be hard to pull it off in an actual match. I'm not fond of the game's English dub either but yeah I'll let you know when I upload it.
According to the scan in the wiki Abel's Overdrive is called "Abel Stardust Night" while Veil's is "Fatal Meteor Blow".

@gentlemanjared Her ribbon toss? just like Cuiling's secret move it can only be performed through the instant secret move trick so far.

this game was my favoriate back in the day, i've got all three safetly tucked away waiting to be played again but they should re-release these games on psn or ps4's psn

Anyone ever figure out the Cuiling secret move? Always knew about it via "shortcut" mode, but no one I knew ever knew what the real motion was. I think that's it for unknown moves.
