Carter is basically a mix of all the best fly halves we have today. The kicking of Pollard, the creativity of Russell, the speed of Mo’unga, the ball carrying and side step of Ntamack, the spatial awareness of Jalibert, the intelligence and dominance of Sexton, the defensive aggressiveness of Farrell and the responsiveness and accuracy of Ford when attempting drop goals.
Most complete rugby player ever. The Joe Montana or Zinedine Zidane of Rugby Union. Wished I had started watching rugby earlier to see much more of him.
Noticed for the first time his running speed was definitely way above average. Made even running look effortless. The legend of Dan Carter 😊 Proud to have grown up watching him play nearly every weekend... what a legend.
Given that he is the GOAT of rugby, it’s unsurprising he was ‘unreal’ in his prime 😂
Carter 🤝 McCaw >>>>
Never knew he was THAT quick. Reminded me of Christian Cullen some of those tries. That try v Wales though, mother of god, imagine trying to defend that.
His fend is underrated
magnificent player!
Where the heck is the banana kick? 🍌
The GOAT
The most complete 10 the game has seen
Wilkinson prime challenge him.
@@ladislas8053 in my opinion those 2 are far and away the best 10s the game has seen. Certainly in the pro era
@@ladislas8053 Wilkinson prime too short lived, and he was injury prone.
Carter was a much better attacking player than Wilkinson
Has to be an English person. No other country given a choice would ever even consider Wilkinson. The latter was much slower, had no real step, as a result wasn't much of a line threat, played very deep and ran a backline that was, let's be real, far, far less sophisticated than Carter could run. Wilkinson was the better defender, but Carter wasn't bad. And they were both clutch. It just comes down to the tools: Wilkinson just had fewer. There's no comparison.
One of the best
He has winger speed in his prime.
I'm always baffled that there are discussions about who the greatest outhalves of the pro era are. It has to just be English people desperate to elevate the far more limited Wilkinson beyond reasonable estimation. Carter had everything. The only back (can't compare backs and forwards) I would put on his level is Dupont.
I was going to make a similar comment Wilkinson doesn't even come close. I'm South African, so impartial (ish). You couldn't find any highlights of this kind for Wilkinson. Carter was a complete player
Although, talking of Dupont but ignoring Fourie du Preez or Joost?
Not on the same level for me. From highlights, perhaps Gareth Edwards of past 9s
The best 10 EVER !!!!!!
