These guys are getting paid millions and can’t be criticized? They won NOTHING until Brown got there. These new age players are soft af! These players just want their asses kissed and have ZERO accountability. Fox doesn’t know how to win and that’s trickling down to the other players as well. Everything with Christie is going to go well until he starts holding players accountable. He’s in the honeymoon phase of coaching, but at some point when that wears off, it’s going to be the same thing. When are these players going to wake the f**k up? The product that the NBA is putting out on the court is HORRIBLE. The NBA is losing fans!
Exactly! They aren’t great players in the NBA. Just because a player can score a lot doesn’t make him a great player. Say he’s a great offensive player. A great player is one that’s solid offensively, defensively and rebounds well, impacts the game on both sides of the ball. Sounds like Jordan, Kobe, and a host of others over the years!
Dude you know what also happened the same time Mike Brown got there? Signed Malik Monk (basically 6 MOTY both seasons), traded for Kevin Heurter (was shooting so well Durant brought it up publicly), drafted Keegan Murray (set the rookie 3 record shooting one of the best in the league that year), got Trey Lyles as a top tier small ball 5 (hasnt played that well since), and first full season with Sabonis on the team. All of those great players coming together for a proper 6 man squad, is what got us to 48 wins and then 46 wins last season (thats with non stop injuries all year and Malik Monk missing 12 games at the end of the season as well as Kevin Heurter, if Monk was there all season, we make the playoffs and surpass the previous seasons 48 wins) People that don't watch every Kings game, give SO much credit to Mike, and not to the TON of pieces that came at the same time as him here, and they didn't see how AWFUL he handled players minutes and rotations. Keon Ellis is arguably our best 3 shooter the last season and for sure this season, and Brown refuses to play him properly, even DNPing him several games. Brown lost the whole locker room, hell rooms say Sabonis disliked Brown way more than Fox, but you can't mess with minutes and rotations so much and talk bullshit about "if you perform, you'll get minutes" and then keep playing Trey Lyles and Colby Jones TOO MANY MINUTES at crucial points, who are TERRIBLE ALL SEASON, that's gonna rub all players wrong who actually contribute.
Except they were winning with mike malone buddy bogdanovic and fox? Not bringing back bogdanovic was the start of the demise. malik monk has been good but those players could have all been had collectively. Especially in todays nba. Managements snarky bullshit attitude and representation of sacramento as a sarcastic place full of assholes is really awful. From the social media on down the attitude and decisions have been piss poor since he took owmership. Kudos for tranforming the downtown corridor - but no thanks on pretty much anything else. Especially letting hometown winner Jordan Ford go. You lost me with that. He's done nothing but win since pre Folsom High days and has a spotless record plus great character. Another gripe is having stadium food. With all the great restaurants in Sac they have the opportunity to provide a culinary experience like no other city. The restaurants are literally a block away......like cmon seriously. For the quality of life thats so close by, wine country, tahoe and international access the Kings are horrible at attracting free agents. Like seriously seriously. Fans deserve more and are READY to do more than cowbells Kings need to quit being a stagnant franchise.
Derozan coming off the bench is the best possible scenario for the Kings right now besides obviously picking up new assets. The Kings were a top 5 offense in the league 2 years ago when they went to the playoffs under Mike Brown, they were touching the paint, spraying the ball, and shooting 3s efficiently while playing at an insane pace. They add Derozan the offense completely slows down switches to high guard screens to space the floor and get Derozan in the post which is great because he hits his shots but if the Kings just go back to their playstyle from 2 years ago let Demar come off the bench and then let him get into his post game it will fix the obvious lack of bench scoring problem for the Kings
You’re correct 2 years ago that they are winning & they are the 3rd in the west! But they didn’t keep the whole team! They let go Harkles, T Davies, Metu, De vicenso, D Mitchell & Harrison Barnes! So, they lost those players who can play defense & do hassle for the team!
@ he’s still balling out right now it’s a team problem, unfortunately they either need him to come off the bench and do what’s he’s doing right now or trade for a 3nD 4
Phil Jackson's, Pat Riley's, Steve Kerr's, and other proven winning coaches call out their star players quite often! They gonna find out quick this wasn’t a smart move!
So he kept Fox accountable and as a coach did his job and asked a player who said they’re willing to do anything to win, to come off the bench and he gets fired, I’m confused
Nope. 😕 Even if this is true, there’s a game within a game. The kings were lucky to be in position to get a player who’s achieved as much as DeRozan to want to come there in the latter stages of his career. He had other offers on contenders for just as much money including the Lakers and the Clippers. You won’t get another star level player, on the decline or not, if you treat him like this. Kings management is trash but if you set that tone, it’ll trickle down to other possible recruits. I’m not saying they should’ve fired MB, I actually think they shouldn’t have given as much info as we have now, my only point is the Kings of all people can’t put a player like DeRozan on the bench and expect to get other players to want to come there.
DeRozan really hasn’t done shit though lol all he’s done is lose to Lebron and watch his team win a chip with Kawhi the year after he got traded. The game is faster than how he scores in the mid range and he can’t guard competent wings in his matchup. That’s why they suck now - they could get it together but it’s been pretty consistent with teams DeRozan ends up on 🤷🏾♂️
@@johnwinston4761 that’s exactly why he should come off the bench, cutting down his minutes might actually be a blessing in disguise because it keeps him fresh for when they need his shot making ability.. like you said, him being a starter clearly doesn’t elevate teams to another level.

Andre Iguadola was the leader of those GS Steph Curry rings, Steph obviously the best player. There's plenty of examples of This, from great teams.... the wheel was invented already. Stop giving theses players the franchise and make them earn it.
No it's not Keegan, it's actually more Keon Ellis not getting time and Monk as well. Sacramento is a pace team, and Demar slows it down to ISO too much for his game, so you he's the odd peg out. Making him the 6 man, with our bad bench, would be perfect, cause you can slow it down with them and lead that unit to score most the points yourself and dish when appropriate. But the starters need to run and gun to perform, this team wins when they move the ball around a lot or the best shot and drive and kick and Demar, even though he can actually shoot the 3 well, always has to come inside when he catches it from out there even if he's wide open.
I swear Keegan playing trash this year shooting 28 from deep, just easy to blame derozan because he’s older,I wouldn’t come off the bench either for them, whenever a vet come off the bench the next step is out the league see how the lakers damn near had Russ out the league and the media wasn’t making it any better.. melo out the league because of it as well😂
They fucked up when a fast paced team picks up DeRozan... Hes a pick n roll iso player... He sucked the life out of Chicago they look better without him...
And Fox has said EVERY SEASON under Mike Brown that he really likes that Brown keeps him accountable. Literally he's said it in many interviews, over the last 3 seasons under Brown. It's ridiculous folks blaming Fox for why he's gone, more stuff has come out saying Sabonis had major issues with Brown, along with Monk and other important pieces on the team. Fox never complained about Brown or what he's done with keeping players accountable. But the locker room probably got pissed at Brown saying "if you perform, you'll get minutes" but then DNPs Keon Ellis, a dream 2 guard that shoots over 40% from 3 and plays fantastic defense, but gives too many minutes to Colby Jones who is trash in the NBA and Trey Lyles who hasn't been a consistent good player since 2022-23 season, he's been awful last two seasons. Brown's rotations and minutes are crazy.
They are profiting??? Even with the luxury taxes being paid??? The guys might be soft, but it’s good for Lou to get the other side of the story. Brown should be a head coach of another team while learning from any mistakes he made in 2024-25. In Sactown, Vivek is likely going back to losing ways with a player’s enabler.
Fox, was not thrown under the bus. Fox ran in front of the bus with all of us watching, so if the coach can't speak on something that we all saw for ourselves...what are we doing. The NBA that I once loved is becoming harder to watch and even more impossible to follow. The NFL is a King with many mistresses (MLB, NHL, NBA & so on), but no Queen as of resent. If inside the NBA wasn't coming back, neither would I.
Remember, Inside the NBA will now be on ESPN 😬 going to be interesting to see how that changes it's dynamic.....hopefully not much. I'm hoping they still let Chuck, Ernie and the guys be themselves and not wack like ESPN's other basketball shows. But I agree, my interest in this new NBA is waning more and more. Pretty soon it will only be NFL, MLB, boxing and UFC for me. Basketball has already become mostly regional for me only watching my Lakers.....can't wait for LeBron to retire or go to another team, but that's a story for another day.....smfh
Day 1 I had the prediction that when De'Aaron Fox and his agent Rich Paul went into the GM office a little over a week ago they either told Monty McNair either we're going to demand a trade or you need to hire Mike Brown 2-3 days later that's the main narrative I'm hearing now
Mike Brown is a multiple time Coach of the year winner. De'Aaron Fox is a one-time all-star... if anyone has the right to hold the other accountable (without getting fired), it's the coach, especially one that has the accolades Brown does. So De'Aaron needs to man TF up and take accountability. Now, they're gonna have to depend on Doug Christie, who has zero coaching experience to fix this team. What a joke.
Personally, I didn’t see Mike making them any better, he peaked and set up a great foundation but I actually think Cristie will do a great job and earn a permanent spot
1:40 Derozen coming off the bench Ginobili style to lead the 2nd unit is actually a great idea. Lou should know, more than most, the value of a great bench leader
This is some lame rationalization from Lou Williams. His take on this is just pure garbage. No players are above getting criticized especially by the coach. Fox shouldn't be considered untouchable. He's not that kind of player. Why can't he be criticized? He's going to leave the Kings anyway and the kings will be stuck with an even worse team and the loss of an excellent coach.
The overall vibe from the press conferences and interviews I watched after coach Brown got fired was, oh well. Nobody seemed like they cared which is sad. As a Dubs fan I felt like he went in there and gave that franchise some direction and toughness.
It's really difficult to build your franchise around a 6'3" player AND have serious championship aspirations. GS appears to have been the outlier. MEM put a lot of size & physicality around Morant. SAC needs an Aaron Gordon type player, along with Keegan Murrary & Sabonis. SAC could/should exploit their Point-Center opportunity much more, but for that to happen there needs to be a more deliberate ball distribution scheme, meaning more possession going through Sabonis, more touches for Keegan Murray, even at the expense of Fox. Why? Because they have the size and the talent. Front court size and talent, along with a talented backcourt should be maximized. But if they are all about selling more De'Aaron Fox merchandise & memorabilia, have at it.
Kings fan since they moved here. All these coaches, pundits and non-fans are hurt cuz this coach got fired. He did good in his first year. Thats it!! So what? We didn’t make the playoffs last year. And we weren’t going to make it this year. He was on a slide because questionable line-ups and play calls. He tore this great team apart.
At some point players need to be held accountable as well. It's not always the coach's fault. Ultimately, it's the players are the ones playing the games. The Kings have been awful this year despite having pretty much the same roster and adding DeRozan who may have not been a good fit.
What world are you smooth brain goobers living in the star player or players have always ran things. Hell Magic Johnson got his head coach fired and Pat Riley took over the team. Magic didn't like the style of play Westhead wanted to play so Westhead was gone. Guaranteed contracts gives star players a lot of power unlike football where the contracts for the most part are not guaranteed
I won’t lie. I agree with what he is saying. not saying Fox is the reason for losing but if the best player can take the talk then the rest of the team should follow. Also I think Derozan should come if the bench
Look what happened to Mark Jackson after bringing the Warriors up from nothing. I watched Jackson coach his last game in LA.. . May 3, 2014 - .Warriros vs Clippers NBA Finals Game 7. I could not believe he was fired.
Yeah, It's Karma, I vividly remembered Anthony Bennett, the Canadian who was the first round draft pick. He was stopped in his tracks by you know who. Anthony never recovered.
Fox is just not Him, just accept it and let everything through Sabonis and DeRozan and let Fox be the decoy. At this point it's about winning and not who's the best.
That bullshit the kings front office have no class, because when they want to trad for pascal siakam the front office was caught talking shit about him and he herd and say if they trad for him he will not resign with them
Fox is not a franchise player. How can you be a franchise player when your team has won nothing of note, ever? He is just another good basketball player. Not great.
No, GM at the time Vlade Divac is the reason we didn't draft Luka. Every other GM drafts the 6'9 "PG" scoring beast even if you have a really fast, who at the time didn't shoot the 3 that well, 6'2 PG and you just make BOTH OF THEM your back court.... essentially what Dallas has now lol.
Popovich is still couching and has been since I was around 10 years old, I’m 38 now and not every year has the Spurs been relevant. The issue with these teams and players are that they don’t understand the coach makes all the difference in the world from being a .500 team with great talent. And a .720 team with guys nobody has ever heard of. I’m not firing my coach so that my star player will be happy, y’all men with a job to do and being paid handsomely to do so. Man up and get it together.
NBA is a star driven league. You simply don't put your players ( especially your best player) under the bus 🚌, publicly. Doesn't matter if that , that in this particular case, Coach Brown was right. But the Kings didn't do themselves a favour, bu the dirty way that , they, fired Mike B.
Fox looks for his numbers and a big contract. I don´t know if he really cares about winning. But on the other hand, if Brown doesn't have the support of his players, if he's not able to navigate that, he's not as good a coach as they say. To be a good coach you also have to be a good psychologist.
Bro of course there is tension . They are on a 5 game losing streak at home and blew a huge lead against the Pistons . Its not always going be sunshine and rainbows . Mike Brown shouldn’t be the FALL GUY . The GM keep putting Guards on this team . We need a Forward and we could’ve drafted a talented one also and they drafted another Guard . Like the GM is equal to blame . The owner also for allowing the firing . Like a emotional
Different league. Not even a former winner gets a pass. Makes me wonder how much ego was involved. Because players aint always right. How much change has happened with the Lakers this year? Sacramento, the players, now need to show out.
First of all what the hell is wrong with telling perennial playoff choker Derozan to come off the bench?! Everybody knows he’s trash and not a winning player. Mike Brown cooked with that one lmaoo
The front office trade for DeRozan disrupted this teams flow. Last years team should have been kept together. The team is young with a young rising star in Fox. He grew last year and should have been given the chance with the dame team. DeRozan is a methodical mid range player that does not fit in todays NBA.
The Kings are one of the lowest 3 shooting teams this season. Jesus, even if you don't watch the games, you can at least pull up the analytics and read the stats on teams/players quite easily.
These players soft, ain’t winning games, blowing leads, and blowing close outs. But can’t take a criticism. Deaaron has only been to the playoffs once. Bro has no leverage but he does. And that’s why the kings are trash. They let boogie run the organization for years and got no where
While the Kings did Brown dirty how they fired him. All these coaches coming out all crying and disappointed is pretty hilarious. At the end of the day, they still get the bag. Head coaches are are part of the sensitive club. One gets fired and all other coaches start trashing the dudes employer who fired them. It's like clockwork. What they dont say is how they still get paid 30-40 mill whatever it is. Yet theyre still going to cry 🤣 Maybe if you guys didnt suck at coaching you wouldnt. get fired.
These takes make no sense. It depends on if you take fox at his word and he said he didn't say anything and he backed mike brown in his extension. Demar wasn't a good signing and benching him was probably a better option. It's a gm failure in the roster. It's not a good roster.
Why is so many people so upset about This Mike Brown firing? Lou Williams said it perfectly, He ran his course with this team. The team was not meeting expectations, and someone had to go. Its hard to feel bad for these coaches that still get paid millions regardless of being fired.
These guys are getting paid millions and can’t be criticized? They won NOTHING until Brown got there. These new age players are soft af! Firing someone for doing their job is mad work
Mike Brown is a multiple time Coach of the year winner.
Very good commentary 🎉
I remember Pop would curse Tim Duncan out. This whole NBA is soft nowadays. They don't wanna play in the games or take criticism.
so him calling out fox was the reason
Personally, I didn’t see Mike making them any better, he peaked and set up a great foundation but I actually think Cristie will do a great job and earn a permanent spot
It did not make any sense for them to even pick up Demar derozan
1:40
Derozen coming off the bench Ginobili style to lead the 2nd unit is actually a great idea. Lou should know, more than most, the value of a great bench leader
Fox immediately dismissed this narrative so yeah
Why.. Wouldn't he? This makes him look BAD.
Dwight Howard said he didn't try to get Stan Van Gundy fired but we know the truth.
Fox being a franchise player & a stud- When has he won anything? Yeah, a great player, but come on.
The NBA was the players league. Now it's a viewers league. Low viewers means less dollars 💵.
He’s not going to insult the players; so that he can keep getting the inside scoop.
I love this take on Mike Brown.
The overall vibe from the press conferences and interviews I watched after coach Brown got fired was, oh well. Nobody seemed like they cared which is sad. As a Dubs fan I felt like he went in there and gave that franchise some direction and toughness.
Listen 2 foxes interview. He says, coach will B oK his contract is guaranteed. Strikes me as a strange thing 2 say, If U had nothing 2 do with it 🤔
Mike Brown is still owed $$$ sit back collect them checks get another job while still getting paid by the Kings
He needs to come to the Clippers
I was like.. this guy reminds me of chandler parsons lolll 🤯😂
De’Arron Fox getting a LEAGUE-WIDE and well respected coach like Mike Brown fired WILL bite him in the ass and cost him money on his next contract.
Bozoooo lol
Why her mic so sharp? I had to turn my volume down when she talked and up when Lou talk.
Lou will is great at everything much respect
Go Kings!
Lou giving the players a cop out. Dudes get paid millions to play a game and still want their asses kissed foh
I think demar coming off the bench might’ve happened but Fox has said many times he enjoyed Mikes style and liked being coached hard
Chef Curry killed them with that 50-ball in Game 7
Then the Kings took away the warriors play off opportunity the next year. No one gives af. 🤣🤣🤣 What a dumb ass.
Mike Brown was fired by the Lakers in a similar way...while conducting practice...😮😮😮...WOW...😮😮😮...
they should resign Fox, they have no other choice. (they should have Draft Luka in the first place)
Players are too sensitive and don’t want the truth. At the end of the day , the players play the game.
Soooooooo we don’t think D’aaron doesn’t need to step it up?
DeRozan should be coming off the bench
Kings fan since they moved here. All these coaches, pundits and non-fans are hurt cuz this coach got fired. He did good in his first year. Thats it!! So what? We didn’t make the playoffs last year. And we weren’t going to make it this year. He was on a slide because questionable line-ups and play calls. He tore this great team apart.
Such a shitty way to fire your once coach of the year. I had literally forgotten Sacramento had a NBA team before Mike Brown arrived. Damn shame.
Of course it could have been handled differently, everything could be handled differently.
At some point players need to be held accountable as well. It's not always the coach's fault. Ultimately, it's the players are the ones playing the games. The Kings have been awful this year despite having pretty much the same roster and adding DeRozan who may have not been a good fit.
If u watch the kings you know derozan isn’t fittin….. he should be coming off the bench..
Ur allstar player has issues playing defense and leading his team
What world are you smooth brain goobers living in the star player or players have always ran things. Hell Magic Johnson got his head coach fired and Pat Riley took over the team. Magic didn't like the style of play Westhead wanted to play so Westhead was gone. Guaranteed contracts gives star players a lot of power unlike football where the contracts for the most part are not guaranteed
Fox is no Magic Johnson. At all. He also plays for the Sacramento kings not the showtime Los Angeles Lakers. Terrible comparison.
@Jonathan-pp3du Son like I said Star players can get a coach fired or get a teammate traded
"The obvious move for the 49ers at 6 and 9 (worse than 13 - 18 Kings) is to fire coach Kyle Shanahan." - Kings ownership
I won’t lie. I agree with what he is saying. not saying Fox is the reason for losing but if the best player can take the talk then the rest of the team should follow. Also I think Derozan should come if the bench
Lou's Source: DeMar DeRozan LOL
Look what happened to Mark Jackson after bringing the Warriors up from nothing. I watched Jackson coach his last game in LA.. . May 3, 2014 - .Warriros vs Clippers NBA Finals Game 7. I could not believe he was fired.
Yeah, It's Karma, I vividly remembered Anthony Bennett, the Canadian who was the first round draft pick. He was stopped in his tracks by you know who. Anthony never recovered.
wtf are you talking about bennett was one of the biggest busts in nba history he couldnt play had nothing to do with brown
Fox is just not Him, just accept it and let everything through Sabonis and DeRozan and let Fox be the decoy. At this point it's about winning and not who's the best.
That bullshit the kings front office have no class, because when they want to trad for pascal siakam the front office was caught talking shit about him and he herd and say if they trad for him he will not resign with them
Fox is the reason we didn't draft Luka, so you have to do what you can to keep him. He is the franchise.
A craping franchise. Fox can’t carry Luka’s bag!😂😂😂🤡
Also lou has to be getting his info from demar. He played with him and is the only one he really knows on the roster.
The league is soft and this is one of the reasons why.
Different league. Not even a former winner gets a pass. Makes me wonder how much ego was involved. Because players aint always right. How much change has happened with the Lakers this year? Sacramento, the players, now need to show out.
as a coach your are taking a big risk calling out the star players.
If they fired him bec Fox is sensitive, nothing good is coming to the Kings.
First of all what the hell is wrong with telling perennial playoff choker Derozan to come off the bench?! Everybody knows he’s trash and not a winning player. Mike Brown cooked with that one lmaoo
Beadle voice getting deeper with age. That testosterone kickin in
How long has she transitioned?
This whole new generation of players act like entitled babies with no desire to be accountable to anything
sounds like guys are not coachable
DDR s/b coming off the bench. Same w/ Monk. Keon Ellis s/b starting
Fox, wherever you end up, you eventually need to GROW UP
The front office trade for DeRozan disrupted this teams flow. Last years team should have been kept together. The team is young with a young rising star in Fox. He grew last year and should have been given the chance with the dame team. DeRozan is a methodical mid range player that does not fit in todays NBA.
Fox said this aint true
Because they take about between the two teams about over 200 threes a game
The Kings are one of the lowest 3 shooting teams this season. Jesus, even if you don't watch the games, you can at least pull up the analytics and read the stats on teams/players quite easily.
Hell yeah that derozan and fox got him fired
Mike Brown was right though. Sounds like you are making excuses for the Kings poor management.
These players soft, ain’t winning games, blowing leads, and blowing close outs. But can’t take a criticism. Deaaron has only been to the playoffs once. Bro has no leverage but he does. And that’s why the kings are trash. They let boogie run the organization for years and got no where
Kings basically ruined demarcus cousins career. They got a Great Center and did nothing
At lease he sign a new deal, he’s getting paid!
Come lou you went to magic City
When the you were in bubble my guy
You are a coach killer
Derozan is a team killer
Trade DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk for Fred VanVleet and Jock Landale. Problem solved.
Yet theyre still going to cry 🤣 Maybe if you guys didnt suck at coaching you wouldnt. get fired.
What Rich Paul wants, Rich Paul gets.
These takes make no sense. It depends on if you take fox at his word and he said he didn't say anything and he backed mike brown in his extension. Demar wasn't a good signing and benching him was probably a better option. It's a gm failure in the roster. It's not a good roster.
Politics just like Dinwiddie said. Fox was chosen over the franchise and coach L
He was the best thing that happened to S K!
So pretty much coaches can't coach these divas
These today nba players are just looking for the bag if u can’t shoot the 3 u won’t make it
Sunk and Defrozen
Demar should go off bench what exactly has he done but cry about leaving Canada? He was mid with spurs and bulls
Why is so many people so upset about This Mike Brown firing? Lou Williams said it perfectly, He ran his course with this team. The team was not meeting expectations, and someone had to go. Its hard to feel bad for these coaches that still get paid millions regardless of being fired.
demar doesn't fit was saying that before season
