Hi, thanks for putting up these videos! This is my second video I just saw by you and I finally figured out the "BaldHeadTheRealtor!" I'm not too bright! But I catch on. I love your little town and the whole area. I just got back to my town in New England but just loved my trip to your area, it's absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to come back!
Great video. We came to Franklin 13 years ago and haven't regretted it one time. To make a video showing all the uniqueness of this area would take days and days... and then you would miss something.
used to go every summer as a kid. the factory was so awesome. I've heard from my family it's a summer tourist destination. nantahala is right there and cherokee reservation.
Jay, I moved there from NJ about 20 years ago and made quite a few friends. As far as newcomers go, if you're friendly with the locals, they'll be friendly with you. It's a beautiful place with breathtaking views of the mountains, hiking trails, etc. The pace of life is a bit slower than the urban life though. You also have Asheville and Atlanta about 2 hours away if you want to get a bit of city life. You should definitely check it out.
Meth capital of the world, with no jobs unless you want to work at Walmart. Empty buildings galore from all of the places closing. The major source of income is government assistance.
Drake Software just closed a one of it's own businesses, Zickgraf pays $10/hr, Tektone and Cat are not as busy as they one were due to the economy again $10/hr. WCU has currently 25 positions open, of which most are teaching positions or manual labor (cleaning pools and painting)... Old Edwards in has posted 7 jobs in 3 months, and then here is the Casino, yes you can absolutely get instant employment there, you will drive an hour and a half of your day driving, be prepared to work on EVERY major holiday as it is mandatory and on those holidays your car will need to be parked anywhere from across the street to 8 miles away at the high school. But don't worry they have a shuttle every 15-30 minutes to pick you up...
$10 an hour? That's survivable there? I know my cost of living in CA is higher but I make twice that now. Are things being built? How's construction? (Skilled, management level)
***** Jay, there are lot of contractors in Franklin. The town has built up quite a bit over the years and I think the market there has slowed down, but work is still around from what I've been told. You might want to visit Franklin and get a feel for the place.
Just bought property there ! Can't wait to build and be here full time. But for now it will be a great vacation gettaway !!!

Small town that’s in the city limits tho we have several other communities
I think I want to move there. Seriously. I'm in San Diego now but from a small town and I am over the big city. Are newcomers welcome?
