Choi has an angry face at character order select when you hold start, which means he doesn't like being on that team, and you lose a meter stock when he is defeated. The friendship system is something you have to consider when making a KOF 98 team.
Interesting fact about those faces and how the characters react to her/his teammates, so, the lore also plays a role choosing team, xd, what a good mechanic i think should be in the rest of games, maybe.

Interesting character choices on both sides. I remember Mature as being like a lesser Iori, not as powerful but her combos were more forgiving in terms of timing. And Mei, Choi and the fat guy were just annoying characters, no long combos but still dangerous just with regular attacks and specials and kind of a slap in the face to be beaten with them. Amazing that this sort of trolling takes place in the big leagues too
kof98 is a great game, but I absolutely suck at it. I can't even beat the arcade playthrough (and the difficulty was at default -- 4). I felt like computer is reading my input or something, because whenever I try something, I get countered. Well, except for the first 2 matches (AI just stand around to get their asses kicked). My team is Shermie, Vice, and Mature. The Orochi ladies.
