Like some on here, I’m Scottish. I went to cinema with friends to watch this. Soon as the movie ended. The whole cinema stood up at the end and cheered and started chapping. Then singing flower of Scotland.
As a woman, I never got upset that Wallace got together with the queen! lol…After all the shit he went through, he deserved some comfort and the touch of a woman. He never dishonored Marion in my eyes, she knew the pain and suffering he had. ❤
@Tbuggaboo it's also obvious he is not interested in a future with the queen, but just wants to be with Marion. It seemed more transactional for her helping him and being married to a gay dude, and of course the pay off of her being pregnant with a Scottish future king.
Forget what any critics say. Braveheart is a timeless and epic Medieval war film. It might be the best movie of its kind. William Wallace's speech to the Scots at Stirling is possibly the best, most inspiring wartime speech ever put on film. Every performance is fantastic. The soundtrack is one of the best, most heart-wrenching scores ever composed for a motion picture. Second only to Titanic. The art direction and cinematography is stunning
I love the handfasting scene when they get married. It’s an old Scottish tradition that my husband and I performed at our wedding. The tartan used was my husband’s clan tartan and represented our commitment to each other. And we had a good dram of whiskey from the quaich of course!😂Scotsmen generally don’t wear anything under their kilts, also tradition. William Wallace was a hero to Scotland and fought for our freedom.
Another great reaction. A lot of people don’t like Mel Gibson, but he knows how to make a movie. Any movie where you are happy, nervous, anxious, angry, and moved or sad enough to cry, is a good movie.
That's mainstream media bullshit. They have villainized him because he's exposing the pedophiles in Hollywood and just a few days ago he said that kamala harris has the intelligence of a fence post. They hate to hear the truth.
What blows my mind is how easily willing we are as a nation to throw our freedoms away today, never taking into account the years of pain and suffering our Souldiers and their families have sacrificed and paid to have what little freedoms we have left here in America now. “hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times”- G. Michael Hopf.
When I was a kid, I played a lot of Age of Empires. When I learned Braveheart was about William Wallace, I begged my mother to let me watch the movie. I was only 8 years old and it took the entire afternoon. I cannot express how life altering am experience my first viewing was. Historically accurate or not, this film is a work of intense passion and will always be in my heart. The score for this film is easily one of my favorite compositions, forever some of the greatest music I've ever heard.
"Braveheart" is a good example of a film being a great historical epic despite its lack of historical accuracy. The storytelling and acting trumps whatever historical flaws there are.
What do you mean. Wallace was a real person who was a leader in the Scottish rebellion. He was eventually captured hanged and disembowel. They took artistic license with the personal aspects, but the basics of the story is true.
I knew you’d appreciate this movie and the sacrifice. It happened to all those people, too. He stayed the course and saw it through. They did create the monster, and when a man has lost everything he’s loved and nothing to lose; there will be consequences. It’s one of my favorite movies. He did go out on his terms. GREAT reaction!
As historically inaccurate as it is braveheart still tells a generally accurate story of the kind of things the scots had to go through at the hands of the english. After nearly a thousand years people tend to forget that it was a difficult time to be alive, what things were like between the scots and english, and that real people went through it and should be remembered for standing up to protect their home. Even a historically inaccurate film like this helps keep the memories of those people alive and what they did far better than old historical records that most people have never read and know little about. Especially for the common peasant or soldier from the time that has otherwise been lost to history
As far as I know dark Stephen from Ireland was a warrior prince and had to go excile from Ireland. So the Ireland really was His Ireland. He saved Wallace several times and was his close friend and a bodyguard.
In actual history, the timelines of William Wallace and Isabella of France don't match. She would have been too young. In the end, however, she ended up as being known as the She-Wolf of France. She got annoyed with the situation with her husband and went back to France, where she got involved with a nobleman there. They returned and invaded England, taking her husband off the throne and putting her son on. She and her new guy ruled the country until the son grew up. They had her former husband locked up for years, and there is a legend that he was killed via red hot poker up his rear end to avoid any injuries to give away that he was murdered. Savage
I've been hinting and requesting and suggesting Rob Roy for years now. I think J would be the 1st reactor to react to it. Honestly I don't understand why it's not more popular than it is!!!! Rob Roy pretty please J and Blank...pretty,pretty please. ☺️💚

A great movie. Even though historically wrong about so many points. But it's an epic adventure. Cast, scenery and the score. It's a fantastic movie. Of course Robert The Bruce was the actual Scottish hero in history. Dunfermline Abbey is well worth a visit when in Scotland, where his bones are buried. Also the Wallace Monument. You can see Wallace's massive sword on display and many other artifacts. And wonderful views from top. "Robert The Bruce" is also worth a watch. A spinoff/sequel. The same actor portraying him (Angus Macfadyen). Not as big of a production, but a nice extra.
Hi I'm Irish, like the Scots us Irish had problems with the English for Centuries. The battle scenes were filmed in Ireland using Irish Defence forces members as extras.
Thank you for your heartfelt reaction to some of what our Scottish ancestors had to endure. My paternal great, gr, gr, gr.....gr grandad was rewarded by Bruce for recommending the use of "caltrops" at the Battle of Bannockburn (the final scene in 1314). That same ancestral line fought against the English Crown again in the War of Independence in the colonies (1776), now USA.⚔🛡⚖ Thank you, and be well.
Yall Mel Gibson can make anybody ugly cry! Lol he has a gift! The Passion of the Christ had parts that absolutely made the entire crucifixion story just hit on a whole other level ! He's an amazing producer ❤️ personally I think Hollywood did him dirty!
I’ve been waiting for you to watch this and knew you would enjoy it. All your reactions are great and so are your 2 little friends. Thanks for being you!
This is one of my all-time favorite movies. Yes, The timeline isn't right a Lot historical inaccuracies, unfortunately a lot of films based off of real life are highly inaccurate but it's still a great movie. Really wished I could have seen this on the big screen.
My absolute favorite movie growing up. I used to sneak out into the living room to sleep on the couch, because it was the only place in the house that had a CD player and stereo so I could sleep to the sounds of the studio soundtrack.
this is one of those movies yu will never be able to remake and be anywhere near as good. same with patriot, both got that same vibe, it might be the actor to be honest haha
I saw this movie in the theater when it came out. Every man had the same reaction you did. This movie hits the deepest parts of a man. It hits all aspects. Really enjoyed your reaction bruh
GIbson makes some good movies, if you havent seen Patriot yet, its along the same lines as this. And he directed Hacksaw Ridge which is one of the best movies ever. Both are def worth a watch
Robert the Bruce became king. There is another movie about Robert the Bruce that sort of builds of this, but it’s not Mel Gibson directed nor the same quality.
J!!! I have seen this movie 100 times. I still get a little tight in the throat at the end. But watching you seeing the ending and breaking up, got me hard. Thanks for reminding me that I am not yet dead inside. Love your work. I know you and blank put in so much time. I apologize for not knowing anyone else on your team. Same. It's a fantastic movie
@@KelkelQ82 curious, how did his accent sound to you? Good?
It's Disney with Gore.
It really has. It’s a great movie.
It's a masterpiece. But Edward Longshanks wasn't that evil, and Robert the Bruce was Wallace on roids.

Sorry, but Lord of the Rings blows Titanic out of the water in terms of score
@ArgentLeftovers Yes and no
I think critics criticise the movie because it's about a historical character and is almost entirely fictional.. As a work of fiction it's great.
Did you miss the Lord of the Rings trilogy?!? The disrespect!
I mean, this won Best Picture of the Year. Any critics blasting this are in the overwhelming minority and can eat a dick.

You can judge a man's worth by if he sheds a tear or not (and is angered) watching this film. It's a powerful story at so many different points.
Mel Gibson is one of the best actor/directors in American movies, and he definitely confirmed that with this film.
Too bad his antisemitism and racism kiboshed his career.
Even watching this as a reaction, with a good man who appreciates good story telling, i can't help getting emotional. Great reaction buddy 👍
There is no bad Mel Gibson directed movies.
You ain’t a man if this movie doesn’t make you cry.
J you have a beautiful heart!! Never change we love you just the way you are!!

I was an extra in a Tim Robbins movie and Angus MacFadven was in it. What a tremendous and underrated actor he was and still is.
Winner of 5 Oscars including Best Picture.
"They may take our lives, but they'll never take OUR FREEDOM!"
Hell Yeah! Best Picture and Best Director. It's a shame that the Academy chickened-out in not giving Mel best actor too.
Well they took their freedom, there is no Scotland today
16 minute Mark EOM chilling nicely, then it all goes down his eyes widen tf up
