I used the KK3 Max for three days, I'm in love with it, my only complain it's that I would like to been able to turn off the "automatic turn on option when pressing the AYBX buttons".
If thats REALLY all you have to complain about it then seems like we really have a great controller here. The issue you mention definitely seems fixable with a software update anyways.
those buttons are considered mechanical because they use mechanical friction between plastic parts in the assembly for actuation feedback, and it seems to have a conductive rod instead of just silicone dome. if you don't like the soft 'click' on those, you can disassemble it and turn internal part 90 degrees for linear actuation, but then you don't get click a tall.
I have to corrent myself, this applied to gen1 buttons found on KK2 Pro. in KK3 Max it turns out they put a membrane button inside this plastic housing ☹ I mean, for casual gaming it doesn't matter that much, especially since you could replace individual button if it ever fails (although disassembly would be needed), just the blatant lie is uncalled for.
@@x-iso I just dont get why they didn't put real mechanical buttons like the micro switches found on most mouse like the gamesir t4k. Wished they made it wireless tho with back pedals. Maybe a pro version?
@@x-iso maybe, but Id argue people have also abused mouse clicks and they seem to last years. Plus its a micro switch, you can replace them with any other micro switch if you had some soldering skills(I have done before) instead of their proprietary switches.
Finally someone with great review. Thank you for the sound test of every button. My nerves are melting from the cacophony of noises that microsoft controllers make.
Ahhhhhh man, good review but you should include GamepadTester circularity testing and Input Lag/latency testing! This is basically standard nowadays. Thank you for your review!
@@HallEffected Excellent, that is great, this is just as good as a timestamp in the video so thank you for that. I've bookmarked and look forward to your reviews from now on. I took a look at the written review and everything looks great. One thing I wanted to see was the latency in ms to see if this controller is consistently 1ms or under at 1000hz, or if it experiences jitters etc. That would be the only thing I would add in addition to the Stability Test (which I have not seen anyone else test, so thanks for bringing that to my attention). Competitive fps will always benefit from more inputs and nothing is doing it better then Scuf envision right now with razer chroma as close runner ups . This will be a great back up controller for controller that get stick drift though and for aim training
I just got my controller in and out of the box the right stick had over 20% circularity errors in gamepad tester. The right stick wouldn’t register any movements with the thumbstick going up. It was weird. Tried to upgrade the firmware but the controller isn’t recognized by my pc even trying different ports and using the included cable. Sounds like a got a lemon. Quality control is rough.
my biggest negative is that the back pedals are only mappable to front buttons, and cannot be mapped to anything else and also cant have more than one button mapped like the steam deck back buttons. super disappointed as this would have helped with pcsx2 where i used steam deck back buttons to go to menu, achievements, quick save and quick reload
My biggest con with this controller is the triggers. They are awful. With the digital switch on it still pressed 30-40% and the shots only fire when the button hits the end of the actuation. Is there a way to make it so that the actuation happens the instant it is pressed?
@@KuraiAether I know I have it. But the stops only stop 30-40% of travel. So your in game game action only happens when the trigger hits the stop instead of right off the bat.
Interesting video, one thing i could suggest you is to maybe put the numbers that you're talking about for the viewer in the future if that's not too much of a hassle? Btw is there any battery status visible on the gamepad itself? I'm currently using DS5 controller and it has this useful light on PC when using DS4Windows, I wonder if this does something similar. I am considering switching to another gamepad at some point. Either way thanks for the video.
The battery indicator is the green/orange light behind the Gulikit's logo. I still haven't drained it, so I'm not sure what color it goes when at very low.
Geez, this is a nearly perfect controller. Other than the useless back paddle buttons (to me). They could even make them work without software if they just mapped them to any of the F13 - F24 as the "default", then let you change to cloning already existing buttons for those it's useful for (or change back to those default F keys). Then in the computer, you could map the F keys to any normal key or macro without it getting in the way of other software (unless you've gone out of your way to use them all already, but then you still have the option of adjusting how you do things).
It doesn't as it isn't an Xbox licensed controller and you need a dongle like the Gulikit Goku. It connects through Bluetooth that way and the polling rate is less than 125hz for it. Keep your Gamesir for now.
I have a Goku adapter. I could only connect KK3 in Bluetooth mode. The dongle mode did not work. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if it's a limitation. I tested the dongle mode with the adapter provided in KK3, and it worked fine on my PC, which means the controller is fine.
Hello, i have a problem with this controller. After updating the firmware to 3.1, the controller is not turning on despite pressing the mode button. Do you guys know how to fix this? Thanks.
Can you use it in D Input mode? If yes, does the DINPUT mode have the same polling rate/input lag as the XINPUT mode? I have a 8BitDo controller and the controller input lag is much higher in DINPUT mode.
I recently broke my 10 year old ps4 controller which was perfect for aiming as it had loose tension while at the center of the deadzone and didn't have a "hump" you had to get over like most controllers allowing for fine microadjustments, and was buttery smooth, if you could recommend any controller PURELY for aiming like my use-case what would you recommend this controller for FPS games and if you would have a better suggestion than this controller what would it be?
