Hi there thanks a lot - and yes of course I shall - I was waiting for the Exynos to be optmised properly because well, currently it's really not. There's been an update to COD Mobile but it still can't max out its graphics settings, PUBG is still bad and Genshin was last time I checked.
It does seem to me, from a general user-experience that performance has gone down on the May update, as if Samsung has reduced the core speeds or power-throttled, even for non-optimised performance settings. I thought it maybe the update needs some time to bed in, but 24 hours later and it still feels sluggish. It did not help that my Developers Options suddenly disappeared and the changes went back to default. I quickly reduced animations to zero as they are awfully bad on my S22U (Exynos). The RAM management on my 8GB seems to have also been messed with by Samsung to kill apps quicker even when you ask them not to be. It does suggest that Samsung is now doing what they did with the S21, get the initial reviews out with high benchmarks and then software-throttle to improve heat and battery life? I am using an OPPO X5 Pro in tandem and the OPPO feels so much better in every regard. Thanks for the update.
I found that after the April update - my battery life and performance seemed to be a lot worse initially (nothing to do with my developer options as I tend to just leave window animations etc. as they come nowadays). But it did seem to improve after about a week or so and I went back to having a much better battery life and performance seemed to go back to normal. I didn't notice the same thing with the May update (at least not yet) but I certainly have experienced what you're seeing. Perhaps they're being more lazy with RAM if the 8GB models are having to clear more stuff out of use - which isn't a good thing to hear.
@@AndroidAddicts Yes, I know Samsung takes a while to optimise after an update so just initial comments, and the hope it will get better with use. Damn. First guy whose gotten better exynos results then snapdragon? RUclipsrs seems to be hating hard on the exynos. You got some camera comparisons? From what Ive seen already snapdragon takes way better photos. Sadly.
Yeah Snapdragon is still better overall with the camera but performance and batter-wise the Exynos, in my tests and day-to-day usage is currently better
I love your tests, but as a data science student it makes me uncomfortable when you say that there is a 1 or 2% change when in reality it's most likely just randomness. There are statistical tests like the two sample t-test which can show if the change is statistically significant. To claim that there really is a change as small as 1% with 95% certainty would unfortunately likely require 10 tests or more, but if the process can be automated then perhaps it's doable. Great video anyways!
Indeed these tests can never be 100% accurate - it's not physically possible. The results will always depend on the temperature of my room, the things that the phone decides it's doing in the background and a whole host of other variables. Thanks for watching though!
From my experience with this year's S22U, Samsung really messed up with Exynos. I've had both S22U Exynos and US Snapdragon, both 8/128GB until April update and the Snapdragon one really seemed another phone. XDA forum and many others are stil full of complaints about Exynos variant having sluggish and laggy UI, this will never be fixed. I sold as fast as i could my Exynos S22U and since i found the Snapdragon one being so good i even decided to pay the extra and switch to the 12/256GB version (Luckiliy the person who sold my the Snap variant, imported so much versions of the phones). Not to mention gaming performance: it was absolutely Awful on my Exynos variant, even while playing at a simple game like FIFA Mobile it stared to lag a lot after only 20m with the phone becoming super hot. On my current Snapdragon one, on the other hand, FIFA Mobile won't even bother the GPU that muh, the game is always fast and fluid with phone becoming just a little warm. I also got really impressed by the temperatures and performance while playing COD mobile: in Battle Royale mode with everything set to maximum my old Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra (Snap 888) used to be so hot that it was hurting my left inch (46-48 degrees in summer, but it's very very hot in Italy) and phone even had to lower the refresh rate to 60Hz for some minutes after closing the game. Played yesterday with my Snapdragon S22 Ultra, same graphic settings, with room temperature about 24 degrees, the phone only reached about 42 degrees, it was fairly warm but not hot as an oven and it cooled down very quickly. In conclusion, i've had various phones from various brands with all the Snapdragon CPUs from S835 and my S22 Ultea made me thinking that this Snap 8 Gen 1 gave me the best experience i've ever had with a Snapdragon powered phone. Very happy!
Ah yes, the Snapdragon will likely always be better optimised for gaming at launch - even now the 2200 is optimised which is quite frustrating but it's really down to the developers to pull their fingers out and update their games to support it. Glad to hear you're happy with your switch!

I had enough every year the same no optimization, no battery... just brag about a device that do this , do that and promise to update and make it good. Is iver 1 year and s21 ultra still 2 Times per Day charging , still bugs still bad battery life. When samsung will asume iphone are better an de leave all that tons of features and start focus în optimization , software and battery life ?? When ?
It's so odd reading this because I'd say that the Exynos this year is probably the best battery life I've had in a phone since my Lenovo P2! I actually had to swap back from my Snapdragon one as the battery life was noticeably worse. Now I get through a full day easily without even thinking about a charger. I normally get around 7-9 hours each day. Still, I might try going back to the SD and seeing if things have improved since the first few months - I imagine they probably have. Try installing AccuBattery and letting it run for a few weeks on your phone so you can try and determine if there's something you've missed that's draining the battery.
@@AndroidAddicts tnx for the answer... I get maximum 7hrs screen on Time... I just want a full Day Phone.... I am very disapointed... I done all that tweaks searching on what could be the problem. Those are certainly great scores 😎 The single core has normally been good but multi has never been that high 😱
@@AndroidAddicts maybe borrow another Snapdragon phone from someone you know to compare? Because those numbers seem crazy low
@@AndroidAddicts I ran five tests for you and these are my results
1211 and 3420
1220 and 3347
1216 and 3381
1169 and 3281
1215 and 3322
They were run one after another.
Please update the sims mobile mod
Done!
I know what îs the scam. Yes exynos beat snapdragon this year. But with what cost? Battery life.... battery life is the worst ever. Îs a half Day phone.... from 9am till 5-6pm and îs dead. 5-6 hrs screen on Time.. with a some tweaks , all apps in deep sleep , no 5g , darkmode , brightness no more the 40% max 50% and most ofbthe Time on wifi. I will not compromise qwhd and 120hz. I want what I pay... 1500$ Phone to do what samsung brag and what an 1500$ Phone does. Like iphone 13 pro max where you have 12hrs screen on Time. I am not doing nothing special just, browsing, fb , youtube , insta , tiktok.... no games!!! If I play games like pubg New state on ultra will Last 3 hrs and dies. If I film 40-50 min that's it almost dead.... looks like snapdragon stai low this year but I think better battery life. Hope samsung fix this or I GO refound and buy 13 pro max.
And nothing there... on night în 7hrs sleep time i lose 5%. Like always from samsung... but on the Day when I use it all I can get îs from 9am till 6pm but at 6pm is like 18% battery left. Not only mine , but some friend are getting the same experience... last year the same problem with s21 ultra just have to charge it 2 times per day. They all say wait for 2 -3 weeks îs going to be better , but I waited on s21 ultra and never get any better. Same usage my girlfriend onn13 pro max have 11hrs screen on time and i only 6. I posted a lot this days and from all over the internet a lot of People complain aboutbthe battery. I lost 2% to write this message. 🤣🤣👍sorry for my english.
@@Stefan25F Good Comment. My Exynos Version S21 Ultra 256 GB, has such a terrible Standby Drain, and you hope with update it will be better, only WiFi i loose in 24 Hours only Display Off between 24 to 28 Percent a day. Are you kidding Samsung, in security Mode on the Samsung Device the same. On LTE much more, i will go with next Phone in 2 years or so, first time to Iphone since Iphone 3g . Samsung with his Updates in Software and Exynos Modem is such a shame, and Samsung know that exactly, but they want make money and lying with his Performance and Wiese battery, Hey this ist a 5000 mAH Battery. Sorry for my english, greetings from Germany
I do not trust the numbers very much, but what is the truth about people who say that the exynos 2200 is very weak and slow, even though its numbers in tests are excellent !
Numbers are just numbers I agree
@@AndroidAddicts
Well, do you think the exynos 2200 will be good for gaming ?
Eventually I think it will, but it really depends on the devs updating their game to support it... So it may take more time sadly
Exynos kall.. 🤮💩💩💩 Pubg Mоbile 30fps ((((((.. 1500$
😭 Still true sadly
Pubg is meant to be played on the PC with keyboard and mouse. Not on the freaking smartphone.
