I love this tutorial! It was so easy to follow and I could adjust it to make smaller jellyfish.
For a medium sized jellyfish I stopped at row 5 of increases (30 stitches), did 5 rows of no increase or decrease, then did one row of decreases normally (24 stitches) and finally the last three rows of decreases in the back loop only. I ended up having 6 tentacles and did the fluffy border/popcorn-like stitches the same way you did it.
For a small sized jellyfish I stopped at 4 rows of increases (24 stitches), did 4 rows of no increase or decrease, then did one row of decreasing normally (18 stitches), and finally did the last 2 rows of decreases in the back loop only. I made the tentacles a little shorter and slip stitched every 2 stitches instead of 3. After my last tentacle, I slip stitched 2 and then slip stitched to join into the first round of BLO. And for the fluffy border I used half double crochets instead of double crochets to make it smaller. I find that this size is perfect for a small keychain.

Same. I've been crocheting for nearly 18months. Octopus are easy and a great start. Also if you feel brave get a grooming brush and try a squirrel (the brush is to fuzz up the tail). If she doesn't want to do whole blankets practice squares for more trickier stitches are perfect !

I made a little adjustment: instead of tracking back to the front loop, starting from round 14, I make 15 popcorn stitches with 7 dc stitches each one.
    Round 14: [pop(7dc), chain 1, skip the next stitch] x 15
    Round 15: 30sc
    Round 16: [3sc, dec] x 6
    Round 17: [2sc, dec] x 6
Round 18: After you joined the round with a slip stitch, chain 20, skip 2 and make 18 dc on the chain. Decrease with slip stitch in the next 2 stitch. Slip into the next stitch and repeat all the steps. To make the tentacles look more vividly (each tentacle has a different length), you could customize the chain number.
Leave a long tail and cut the yarn, fasten off. Use a tapestry needle to close the jellyfish.

Can you please help me? The video shows that the direction was reversed. In round 7, the stitches were worked from left to right, but after the video cut, the stitches were worked from right to left. How can I reverse the direction, and in which round should I do it? Please help.

Just finished my first jellyfish! The yarn is a tad larger then yours so it’s around the size of a small stuffed animal which is okay! It came out sooo cute for my first try! I’ll be going to the store soon for smaller yarn to make one that’s actually keychain size lol! Thank you for this!

Oh why😭😭, I’m struggling to make this jellyfish because the instructions in the video aren’t clear. The stitches were worked from left to right in round 7 in this part (4:48) , but after the video cut, they were worked from right to left in this part (5:22) . I can’t figure out how to reverse the direction or in which round to do it. Can you please help me?
I have an order that I have to deliver tomorrow

This was the best tutorial ever! Such a fun and quick make. I made the jellyfish in pink. I’m off to see what other tutorials you have so I can make her a friend. Or it could be a him? Are jellyfish one sex or are they both? Or can they change? Whatever the case, they need some little aquatic pals ❤
