The first thing I thought if when I first saw the wandercrab was the story of Howl's Moving Castle, not just appearance, but Sophie Hatter's life in the story was described as mundane and boring, the complete opposite of what the wandercrabs appearence. Electric Eel cookie also resembles Howl, too, from personality. I really hope to spot more similarities as the story progresses.

I think the reason might be more complex because it kinda weird if octopus cookie mentioned she like being monster instead just high regent，and when she near the WanderCrab，the power source keep switching out and cookies are terrified about the sea monsters，and octopus become Abyss Monarch for some reason So I believe the reason might be this： Based on the trailer, we know the octopus cookie is commanded to protect the pearl and only capable to protect the city without been cursed even sea fairy is awake but maybe because the city only functionable if the sea fairy keep been cursed (as known as from season 5 finale), octopus cookie accidently the curse power from the pearl and mutant her, causing her becoming half monster half cookie (similar to fire spirit cookie, who also a normal cookie but becoming a fire deity after obtaining the dragon orb from pitaya dragon) cookies not really seems the monster side, but feel and sense it from octopus, so that why cookies want to leave and octopus didn't care about Sugarteara because she felt she been abondoned, think the city is cruel and desnited been destroyed?

man, they really downgraded the localization. these past couple updates its *really* hard to see what's happening. it feels like theyre supporting the english "translation" more because they've already committed so many resources to it, than because they actually care about it. that, or, theyve laid off the skilled localization team members. either way, i really want to like this, and there is something of substance here to think about, but... it really, really suffers from the lack of proper localization, for an english speaker. it's almost line cookie run levels of bad at times. i hope they put more resources back into the localization soon, but it's doubtful...
i thought it was just me with bias from when they talked about “Logan Dragon Cookie” in the lotus update twice, but… yeah wow. been into cr since line, and since crob came out, i used to love that cookie run was so good at translation/localization compared to other games. this, though….. this is nearing food fantasy levels of bad with the dialogue to me ☹️
this update had most best stuff in recent update (at least compared to other), good new story, good resources, not doing some weird stuff, except they bring back friendly run again but the translation team not sure they are too tired or what, in chinese version, the character name mostly glitched out (not sure other language) like lobster keep saying mocha ray's name as "mocha XX cookie", while anglerfish in chinese become "XXXXXXXXXXfish coookie", ink cloak cookie kinda cool when they named as "mystery ink T-shirt cookie" like very stick with the city moodXD
Like the story so far, i hope they dont bring surguatara back though. The cookies thay left did have reasons too and ened up there with better lifes. Its selfish for Mocha Ray to want hem to come back.
Actually even Mocha Ray has the desire to build the new Sugarteara, but she kinda more reasonable than Lobster，who just want fix the old Sugarteara even that is wrong，like teaming up with Dark Enchantress，try cursing the pearl even the sea fairy who tried to cure the pearl curse on it Mocha Ray tried to stop Lobster and hope he will back to build a new Sugarteara，knowing the city destruction is destined but she is optimism to try fix it，but seems she had no idea why those cookie leave in this story，she might just think because no one able to handle the pearl curse so the city in rumble hence cookie just leaving with no hope

@@norlaavi we don't know for sure since devsis latest video refers to them as they/them, but maybe it's a guy because one of the names they drafted up for abyss monarch cookie was 'abyss prince' (and not 'princess'). idk I hope this helps but we have to wait for the cookie to be released in game to be sure. either way I don't care what gender they are, their design still looks very cool ^^
